"I know."

"So you were called in front of the Ad Board?"

"That's not what happened." Mack whispered while blankly staring at the table, her under eye circles prominent with her sickly pale skin.

"You weren't called in front of the administrative board?"

"No. At the bar with Erica. I didn't say that."

"I was reading from her deposition."

"Why would you need her deposition?" She asked.

"That's really for us to decide."

Mack chuckled although her face remained humorless, "I know how you people think."

"Us people?"

"People who don't care about others' feelings. People who-"

"Mack." Her lawyer, Sy, cut her off. Macks haunted eyes returned to the table as her jaw clenched.

"Why don't we stretch our legs for a minute? Can we do that? It's been almost three hours."

Eduardo watched as Mackenzie pulled her legs to her chest and wrapped her arms around them.

"And frankly, you did spend a lot of time embarrassing Miss Zuckerberg. It's time for your medicine."

Mackenzie remained in her seat, her only movement being of her hands. She took the bottle and grabbed one of the pills. She placed it on her tongue before swallowing it with water. Her pale fingers picking at the oversized green sweater after, flinching as she brushed her wrist.

"She was under oath."

"I guess that would be the first time somebody's lied under oath then."

Sy, Eduardo, and his lawyer soon walked away leaving Mackenzie in her spot.

"The site got twenty two hundred hits after an hour?" The woman beside her asked.

"Thousand." She whispered.

"What?"

"Twenty-two thousand."

She turned back with a dramatic 'wow'

"Cameron Winklevoss. W-I-N-K-L-E-V-O-S-S. Cameron spelled the usual way." The kinder brother explained.

"Tyler Winklevoss. Tyler spelled the usual way, and my last name is the same as my brother's." Tyler glared at Mack.

"Miss Zuckerberg, this is an Administrative Board hearing. You're being accused of intentionally breaching security, violating copyrights, violating individual privacy by creating the website www.facesmash.com." The woman explained.

"You're also charged with being in violation of university policy on distribution of digitized images. Before we begin with our questions you're allowed to make a statement. Would you like to do so?"

Mackenzie looked up from her bandaged hand. "I… I've already apologized in The Crimson to the ABHW, to Furrza Latina, and to any woman at Harvard who may have been insulted. And as I take it they were." Mackenzie counted on her fingers, almost as if she was mocking them–which she was not.

"As for any charges stemming from the breaching of security I believe I deserve some recognition." She smiled innocently despite the hint of devil in her eyes.

"I-I'm sorry?"

"Yes." She gazed upward to the beiges ceiling. The numbers rapidly moved around while changing at a constant pace. Her head lolled back and rested against the chair.

"I don't understand."

Mackenzie hummed. She remembered staring upward.

"Miss Zuckerberg?"

Mack quickly snapped back up with perfect posture. The two men beside jumped at her fast movement, "Which part?"

"You deserve recognition?"

Mack's eyebrows crinkled and her head tilted like an innocent puppy, "I have obviously pointed out some flaws in your system."

"Excuse me. May I?" A balding man with round and golden glasses chimed in.

"Miss Zuckerberg." He turned after being given an affirmative, "I'm in charge of security for all computers on the Harvard network and I can assure you of it's sophistication." He remarked with pride.

Mackenzie frowned. "In fact it was that sophistication that led us to you in less than four hours."

"Four hours?" She questioned.

"Yes ma'am."

"That would be something you could take pride in. Except if you had known what you were looking for you would have seen it written on my dorm room window." She leaned back.

Mackenzie walked out with a hop in her step. Her eyes traced the walls of the building, the white marble walls making the numbers and letters blend in and hard to tune out.

"So?" Eduardo asked, suddenly being behind her.

She jumped and turned around.

"Six months of academic probation."

"Well they had to make an example out of you." Eduardo stuffed his hand in his pocket drawing Mack's attention.

He was in a dark blue silk shirt and black pants. One white earbud hung from his ear and his blazer jacket was thrown over his shoulders.

Her hand reached out and grabbed the other earbud. She plugged it into her ear and smiled noticing the song.

"I tried to stop you." Eduardo laced his fingers with hers.

"I know." She whispered and started down the stairs.

"How do you do this thing where you get all girls to hate me?" He asked.

Mackenzie smiled and swayed their hands back and forth.

"I can't have anyone stealing you, now can I?" She smiled cheekily at him.

He simply shook his head and followed along, happy to have her by his side for what seemed forever.

But only when he would leave would everything change.
