Y/n was welcomed by a striking pain in her head when her eyelids opened. Her hand went towards her head, stroking it gently. She then jolted upwards, as memories of past events clouded her mind.
"The foxes attacked me, and I went inside that strange hole. Then a wave of exhaustion hit me, leading me to pass out. But where am I right now?" She exclaimed, and her eyes started tracing every little detail surrounding her. The realm where she accidentally landed herself, looked like a splendid blend of vibrant colours and ethereal landscapes.
The air was scented with the fragrance of blooming dandelions, their stigmas sparkling with glitter as if kissed by the sunlight. The crystal-clear lake beside the pristine grass field enhanced its magnificence delicately and reflected her imagery perfectly on its surface.
She stared at her image reflected on the lake, and noticed her frizzy hairs and muddy clothes.
"Who are you?" A human voice echoed in her ears, turning around, her gaze met the owner of the voice. A sense of relief washed over Y/n when she saw another human presence. Her mind then focused on the man in front of her, a handsome male, as if a sculpture with no imperfection.
His eyes gleamed with an otherworldly intensity as if harbouring a secret that begged to be unravelled. His voice which came out as a mere whisper, carried a captivating melody that seemed to draw her closer. Y/n stared at him in wonder and astonishment as he spoke again.
"Excuse me! I asked you something! Who are you and where are you from?" He asked, pulling Y/n out of her trance.
"I don't know what's going on, but can you tell me the location of this place so I can find my way back home," Y/n said while rubbing the nape of her neck.
The man's sparkling orbs gave a look of confusion, but soon his pleasing features gave a look that was beyond Y/n's reach of understanding. He tilted his head and moved closer towards Y/n's neck making her jolt back in shock.
Y/n's eyes widened as she spoke in a raised voice, "What are you trying to do? I agree that you are handsome and all but that doesn't mean you can do anything."
"I was right. Indeed you are."
"What? What am I?"
"Nothing, just follow me if you wanna stay alive," the man demanded while Y/n scoffed.
"And you think I'm gonna do that?" She said while glaring at him, the unknown man just folded his hands and sighed. However, a scream escaped from Y/n's lips when she felt something entangling her leg.
The man in front of her glanced at the snake and proceeded to fold his hands, his features mirrored no emotions as he stood there nonchalantly.
"Do something or else I'll die," Y/n half yelled.
"Weren't you the one to say that I might do something to you?" He said, and a smirk played across his lips.
"I-I'm sorry! Please do something."
The unknown man enjoyed Y/n's frightened state for a moment before he knelt and touched the snake with his fingertips; within seconds the snake obeyed him and de-tangled itself from her ankle. Y/n heaved a sigh of relief when the snake crawled ahead, away from them.
"Thank you Mr whatever your name is," Y/nΒ said while not making eye contact with him.
"If your doubts are clear, shall we leave?"
Y/n nodded while he turned around and started stepping forward; Y/n followed him from behind.
"Wait, let me do one more thing!" The tall man with a wide back stopped abruptly, making Y/n stumble on her feet, and almost crashing with his back.
"Hum!?"
Turning around, the man softly brushed his index fingertip with her forehead and after a few seconds, he started walking again.
Confused as to what he did, Y/n still decided to follow him. While trying her best to match his pace, her gaze ventured around the majestic realm.
"By the way, did you notice the specs of glitter on the snake's scales? Wasn't it unusual? Was it your pet? How come it de-tangled itself with just your touch? I've been seeing a lot of glitter all around, is there a glitter factory nearby?... Mr whatever your name is, at least tell me where are we going and what is this country called. Wait, am I in North Korea?" Y/n showered the tall statured man with questions of various types, but he remained silent to all her blabberings.
But something caught his interest, as he finally spoke, "You called me handsome, right ?... I know I am."
Y/n watched him in awe and confusion before continuing to silently follow him again. As they walked further, Y/n stared at the landscape standing proudly in front of her.
The sun glared through its position in the sky, letting a canvas of deep indigo that flew endlessly from the icy mountain tops.
In the heart of this majestic realm, a range of majestic mountains pierced the heavens, their snowy peaks glistening under the sun's ethereal glow.
The mountains rose like sentinels of nature as if praising the river that tore through them. Each peak was adorned with a crown of pristine white, an indication of the untamed power that resided in these ancient giants as they stood tall and proud.
They stopped at the exit of the grasslands. A grinding, gravelly road runs straight ahead to a place where Y/n's eyes couldn't reach. She suddenly became curious as to where this path was leading, and what she was going to witness further.
"I'm going to check on something, stay under this tree until I arrive," the tall man towering over her small form said while pointing at the respected tree, making Y/n sigh.
"Come back soon, I'll be waiting."
When Y/n's words reached his ears, the muscles located below his eyes twitched before he added, "What if I came late?" he moved closer to her face and continued,Β "Will you miss me?"
A smirk on his luscious plump lips caught Y/n's attention and made her nervous. But when Y/n was about to snap as a response, she smirked instead, "Why? Do you want me to miss you?"
The man's expression went pale for a moment before he shockingly added, "You've got some real confidence to say that."
The man half smiled while he again shifted his face closer to hers, making Y/n's nerves wreck in enticement and lure. His features were an alluring mess of perfection as if casting a spell through his eyes and letting the whole world fade away, except for him to focus.
To hide her flushed cheeks and to come out of this awkward situation, Y/n blurted, "Tell me your name so that I can find you. If you ever decided to abandon me."
"I am not going to do that, just yet."
Y/n gave him a look of dissatisfaction, and it somehow convinced the unknown man, as he heaved a sigh.
"Call me Jin."
"Jin."
"But refrain from using my name if someone asks you something, it'll be best if you don't reveal anything about you as well."
"I am more than confused, but I'll still listen to what you said. And once you're back you have to tell me everything about this place."
"You're smarter than I thought you would be."
"Act like a fool and behave like a genius."
He opened his mouth to speak but sealed it with a mischievous smile as if hinting at hidden depths of knowledge of this land that she didn't seem to know.
"Let's talk about this later miss... fool!" The man named Jin finally added.
Y/n let out a scoff, and he turned around leaving her with her thoughts. With slow steps Y/n approached near the tree, its lush green canopy spreading in all directions. She seated herself on the green carpet underneath her body, her back glued with the thick girth of the tree. Fresh air travelled inside her body as she inhaled a long breath. Closing her eyes, her mind started wandering around this place.
Am I not feared by this place?
She thought and glanced at the scenery above her. A soft breeze brushed her face, and the leaves radiated an iridescent glow, casting a gentle luminosity upon the land below, its branches holding enough strength to bear nests and even more.
Looking straight ahead she saw a group of children passing by, laughing and playing amongst them. Now her mind shifted onto these mystic beings.
Are they fairies with delicate wings that flutter between flowers as their laughter echoes through the valleys? Or elves with a timeless grace and wisdom that dwells in the magnificent treehouses, hidden amidst the ancient woods. But aren't their physical appearance similar to humans? No wings like a faerie and no pointed ears like an elf? So why are these humans living here? Maybe, just like any other tribal communities, they don't want any interference from the outside world, or maybe they are just perfectly looking humans, but not humans.
Questions and their possible answers filled the depths of her mind, and it finally drifted to the person she left behind. A sad smile made its way onto her lips, at the thought of Hoseok.
However, her gaze landed on the path formed by tar, her curiosity heightened and before even realising she found herself walking ahead on the cemented road. She left the pristine grasslands behind and after walking further, froze on her spot, standing at the entrance of a hustling environment.
A marketplace!?
She thought and stepped onto the messy cobblestone street, the aroma of spices, freshly baked bread, and exotic flowers enveloped her in a tantalizing embrace.
Each vendor seemed to possess a unique story, their wares reflecting a tapestry of the culture of this mystic realm. On walking further, she spotted a jovial fishmonger, his weathered hands expertly filleting the catch of the day while the vibrant fishes danced on the ice, their scales glinting with glitter like precious gems.
Further along, a merchant of this distant land captivated passersby with his mesmerizing collection of handcrafted tapestries and intricately woven rugs.
She stopped by to see the captivating patterns and rich textures of the rugs and the heavy clothes. They somehow ignited her imagination with tales of ancient civilizations that she used to learn about, in lecture halls.
The air reverberated with the harmonious symphony of musicians, their melodies intertwining like fine threads of copper and tin to form bronze, and that's when Y/n realized that, indeed she had discovered a civilisation.
Moving ahead, a man as old as time, in his small wooden shop, was serving everyone his tempting baked buns filled with red bean paste.
"They sell this here too?!" She exclaimed in excitement and confusion. People around her were buying it with an exchange of coins, Y/n groaned internally at the lack of currency for the exchange and decided to move ahead, but when she saw the old man's smiling features while feeding a squirrel, she stopped and decided to ask for his kindness.
"Excuse me, sir, can I taste this, please? I'll help you in the kitchen in exchange for that because I don't have any coins right now."
The shopkeeper's features got filled with fine lines as he smiled kindly, "No need to help me in the kitchen child, if you're this eager to taste," he picked a bun, "Here, take it."
Y/n shook her hands in refusal, but the old man moved his hand forward to hand her the bun. However, this interaction was soon interrupted when a certain manly hand stopped the shopkeeper from moving his hand any further.
Y/n glanced at the owner of the hand, his skin was covered in a monochrome black outfit, and his hairs were gelled behind, exposing his forehead. The black trench coat fitted perfectly around his shoulders, a jewelry hung on the left side of his coat, neutralizing his monochrome outfit. His eyes completely ignored Y/n's form standing beside him as he spoke.
"Uncle, how many times do I have to tell you to not distribute free buns? And especially to people who seem to have money to spend on clothes and other accessories, but not on a small bun shop owner."
Y/n's eyes pierced in his direction as she proceeded to give him a good glare. Their eyes met, his dark orbs now focused on hers, "Was that for me?"
"If you assume so."
Namjoon said while twitching his eyebrows in satisfaction. Y/n let out a small chuckle before she remarked.
"So, I guess you are arrogant and rude at the same time!"
Namjoon shifted on his tracks, his tall stature now towering Y/n, his sharp features sending glares in her direction, his voice resonating nothing but dominance, "Repeat that again."
It took Y/n a moment to realise that she shuddered from his demanding tone, registering the seriousness of the situation and observing his attire; he looked like someone claiming authority and respect. Hence she decided to remain silent even when her insides raged to give him a reply.
"You were saying something right? Feared to continue?" Namjoon mockingly added, fueling Y/n's twisted nerves, and she finally spoke.
"I don't meddle in people who are used to judging anyone. Even if you might have a good intention, at least improve your way of expressing it!" She blurted, and without letting him answer, she started stepping backwards.
