Chapter 4: Mentor Lee

"Then, that guy had the guts to talk to my brother!" Jihyeon exaggeratedly exclaimed, leaving Mirae to shook her head while slightly laughing at her friend.

"He must be looking for death." Mirae spoke, busily wiping the counter before she leaves her shift to Jihyeon.

"Yeah! What a shame, he has deep voice and is tall. I bet he is handsome." Jihyeon sighed, earning a light pinch on the side of her waist from Mirae. "Ow! That hurts, you know?" She frowned while rubbing it.

"You always say that to every man you see, as if you see all of them as handsome and ideal. And for your information, that didn't hurt because I didn't pinch it that hard." Mirae mocked, almost receiving a head spank from Jihyeon but immediately grabbed her hand to prevent it.

If only her reflexes were quick enough to match Mirae's, she would already hit the female but she was too slow.

"I'm still older than you, Jihyeon." Mirae warned, that made Jihyeon pout. "Anyways, I have to go now. I have to attend my new job, it's my first day. Please tell Hangyeol that I'll take him out on Saturday." She reminded while removing her apron.

"Okay, I'll tell him. By the way, what about your studies?" Jihyeon asked worriedly, watching her as she set aside the apron and remove the bun of her hair.

"I already submitted my assignments this morning. I finished them all and finalized those last night, so I have the time to just work." She answered while putting her hair in a nice ponytail.

Right after collecting the drinks she prepared for the seven trainees, based from what Yoongi said, and one for the choreographer, she checked her backpack if everything is there.

"Have fun at your new job, Raeya. Tell me if there are handsome men, okay?" And again, she received a gentle head spank from Mirae.

"Work well!" Mirae bid, brisk walking, as she leaves the cafΓ© to Jihyeon.

It's afternoon now, and that's when Mirae's job at the Big Hit Company will start. What's her job, you ask? She's hired as the new assistant choreographer of Bangtan. Now, what does an assistant choreographer do? Assistant Choreographers are usually hired once the dance routines in the production have already been designed by the Choreographer. Their main task is to work with the performers and teach them the required steps and routines.

Beforehand, the videos of the choreographies were sent to her for her to analyze and study. It actually took her half a month to study them all. However, even though she's not that professionally trained and licensed, she was once a member of a dance studio filled with talented and professional performers when she was a child. Dancing became one of her sidelines, by joining competitions to being a freelance choreographer, to earn enough money than just working in the cafΓ©. And Bang Shiyuk knows how talented his niece is when he saw her again as a participant in a dance competition, also witnessing her win the first prize. Since then, she was already scouted.

And after a long walk, she finally reached the building. It wasn't that big as the other buildings like the rest of the companies, but she's sure that the artist and staffs here are more than what she expects. As soon as she entered, a middle aged woman approached her.

"Hello! You must be Mirae?" She asked, and Mirae nodded even though she's quite confused. "Come with me, Mr. Bang asked me to wait for you. They're currently at the practice room."

Mirae obliged and walked beside the woman as they ascend to the halls of the building. As they amble, the woman told Mirae some of the company's rules and regulations.

"Most importantly, never let your heart be stolen by one of your apprentices, which are the trainees." The woman reminded as they finally stood in front of the practice room.

"What do you mean?" Mirae asked, way too much overwhelmed ever since she entered the building.

"You're not allowed to fall in love nor to be in love with any of them. That's the number one rule of your contract, so please be aware and mindful about it." The woman explained as she warned her about it. "By the way, here's your ID. Welcome to our company, Ms. Lee. I hope you enjoy your stay." And the woman finally left Mirae, dumbfounded while holding her ID.

Behind that door was the same with the trainees as they wait for their new assistant choreographer to arrive. PD-nim is explaining everything to them, such as the small details, to also make the work for Mirae easier.

"Lastly, you must never fall in love with her nor to be in love with her. If that happens, there will be punishment and consequences that you may not love. If ever you feel anything, such as any romantic feelings, towards her, erase it immediately. Be professional, and act professionally. She's your mentor, not just any ordinary lady to work with." PD-nim strictly reminded, and all of them nodded determinedly to him.

A soft knock stopped the people inside from talking. PD-nim walked over the door and opened it, only to see the person they've been waiting to see. Mirae's shy smile was evident on her lips as she bowed to Mr. Bang. He then led her inside, to the middle, in front of the trainees, who have a mixture of reactions. Yoongi and Jimin were surprised to know that she's their new mentor and assistant choreographer, while the rest are either studying her or excited to work with her. However, Namjoon felt odd to see their mentor. It's like, she's familiar.

"Everyone, this is our new assistant choreographer and your new mentor." PD-nim introduced. "Why don't we listen to her introduction?" And he then tapped her shoulder before giving her the spotlight.

She then finally faced them properly, eyeing each one, until her eyes met two persons whom she knew. She gave them her sweet smile before bowing her head.

"Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Lee Mirae and I'll be your new mentor starting today. I promise to always give my best in working and in helping for this company to bloom. I hope you'll take care of me." She finished, and everyone clapped their hands.

"Okay, now please introduce yourselves one by one." PD-nim commanded to the trainees, who obliged.

The first one was screaming 'confidence' in his aura, yet shyness still steals the spotlight. His features were well spaced and set, and everything looks like it's been carefully measured and put in place. The first thing you notice about him is his eyes. They're so bright, like they contain stars. The skin around his eyes are almost puffy-like and his aegyo sal can be pretty obvious, but somehow it fits. It makes him look cute, as it makes his eyes just a little bit rounder. His face is such that it's angular yet soft at the same time. When he smiles, he has cheeks you want to pinch but when he's neutral or being serious, his jawline, although not particularly prominent, does have the element of masculinity to it.

"Hello, Mirae-ssi." He initiated with a smile. "My name is Kim Seokjin, but you can call me Jin. I'm the sub vocalist and visual of the group. I'm the eldest among the trainee in terms of the age, but I do look like the youngest." He joked, which made the others mock him while Mirae slightly giggled.

His lips are like pillows, plump and thick. He has the face of a polite classy gentleman. It's also prominent in the way he carries himself. He looks like he could be the son's CEO in some K-drama. His eyes can be piercing, boring into your soul. When he smiles, his lips stretches fits his face very well. He looks like he could be in a toothbrush commercial. He is happiness incarnate.

"Nice to meet you, Jin-ssi." Mirae reciprocated his smile. "And I must say, you do look like the youngest." She then gave him a wink with a hand pointing like a gun to him, and they both chuckled.

The second one looks like someone she could get along in terms of dancing. From his poise and aura, she concludes that he is someone who is very cheerful and goofy. He has the nose of a Disney character, Peter Pan to be exact. He has that vibe in general, with his slightly pointed ear and the rather pointed shape of his face, it makes him look quite mischievous. His smile shaped like a heart whenever he smiles, which shows the cute, small dimples he has.

"Hi, Ms. Mirae! It's a pleasure to meet our new mentor." He beamed. "I'm Jung Hoseok! My stage name is J-Hope, but you can call me Hoseok or just simply J-Hope. I'm the main dancer and sub rapper of the group."

"Hello, J-Hope-ssi! I can really tell that you're a great dancer, just by basing from your poise. I'm looking forward to working with you." Mirae replied happily to him.

Gazing at the five that are left, she concluded, she really does need a lot of memorization to do.
