Even though I was turned away from him, Dekus flushed face, and big smile was easy to image.
"So, um, hey, Kacchan! I forgot my sleeping bag, so I guess this means I'll have to bunk with you, in your bed, Huh?~"
"Nope."
A small gasp escaped from his lips, as he took in my short response.
"You sleep on the couch."
I turned my head, and saw his dissapointed, pouting face.
"Awe.."
Seriously, why the hell does he think he can seduce me like that?
Ever since that half-assed confession of his, I still haven't returned his feelings, but that doesn't stop him from flirting with me on a daily basis.
"Um...hey...K-kacchan?"
"What?"
"I...really, really like you..."
"...oh."
What was I supposed to say? I'm not gay! And even if I was, I still wouldn't fall for that damn clingy nerd!
-time skip-
My body felt numb, and my dark room didn't make me any less tired.
It was like putting a child to bed.
Stubborn, talkative, and never letting go of my arm!
I held onto my promise about making Deku sleep on the couch, but despite all that, I already know what he's gonna do.
He'll sneak into my room, crawl into my bed, and be all creepy and snugly.
I attempted to push the thought away, and covered myself in blankets, on the edge of consciousness, ready to fall asleep.
I heard a creaking noise, indicating that my door was being opened.
'Knew it.'
I kept my eyes closed, pretending to be asleep.
I felt my bed dip down slightly.
'Go away.'
"Kacchan...?"
Half of my face was covered by my comforter, so I was able to grit my teeth, without him noticing.
'Leave me alone!'
"I...love you..."
'What a waste of breath.'
"Do you...hate me for that?...for...loving you..?"
My heart dropped.
The hell?
Does he really think I hate him?
My heart started to sound like loud drums, the noise filling my ears, and a pounding feeling in my chest.
Does it seem that way? That I hate him?
I asked myself the same question a million time, along with others;
'Do I hate Deku?'
"No."
Deku's breath hitched. I felt him jolt.
He must not have expected me to answer.
"I don't hate you. I swear, but...you can get annoying sometimes. Confessing your love to me everyday, being all flirty and huggy; but I'm pretty sure you already knew that."
I rolled over just a bit, in order to see his stupid face. I knew he would be blushing, as usual.
It didn't take but two seconds for him to place both of his hands on either side of my head.
It took me my surprise...but it shouldn't have. I should be used to this, by now.
Except, it was different from other times, when he was playful and joking.
This time, Deku's eyes were heavy lidded, fogged up with curiosity. His freckled cheeks were covered in red.
"...really?"
"Well..yeah."
He was silent, but I knew he was content with my answer.
Deku placed one hand on my forehead, lifting my hair upwards.
"H-hey! What the hell?!"
He leaned down, closing in on my face.
I abruptly smacked my hands onto his shoulders, but even so, he didn't stop.
I screwed my eyes shut.
Deku's lips made contact with me.
A light peck on my forehead.
My heart was going berserk.
My face was so warm, as we're his lips.
My grip on Deku's shoulders, tightened up, nervously.
It finally ended, but I'm not sure that 'finally' is the correct word to use.
I peeked up at Deku, who was still hovering over me.
His face was a bright red, and eyes filled with joy and...
...tears.
Deku scrunched up his nose, sniffling, trying to keep from crying.
There was a weak smile placed on his face.
"It's fine if you don't return my feelings for you..."
I blinked in disbelief.
It's been a while since I've seen such sincerity in his eyes.
"I'm just glad you don't hate me."
The weak smile was followed by a broken laugh.
My heart squeezed in my chest.
"How the hell can you be fine with something like that?!"
Deku looked down in shame, averting my gaze, as more tears spilled from his emerald orbs, making my heart sink even deeper.
"Because you don't like me...so I'm supposed to be fine with it..."
"If I don't like you back than that's my problem!"
'What the hell am I saying?!'
"The only thing you should worry about, is getting me to like you back!"
'Shut up!'
At this point, I was just spouting out words. I didn't want Deku to feel this way because of me. I don't want Deku to be sad for any reason.
Deku lifted up his head, messy green and black hair slightly covering his confused eyes.
"I don't hate you...but I don't like you back, either...but because of that, I don't want you to stop acting the way you do around me. If you could get me to like you, back by any chance...than..."
'Where was I going with this?'
It was like reality smacked me, waking me up from a trance.
I stared up at Dekus frowning face, his lips slowly becoming a real smile.
"Thanks, Kacchan."
Another sniffle.
I unknowingly smiled back.
'He knows what I'm trying to say'
His small frame left from hovering over me, suddenly making his way off of the bed, still smiling.
I abruptly lifted my own body, pushing my blankets off of me.
"What are you doing?"
Deku's small hand barely landed on my doorknob, before turning back to face me.
"Going back to the couch."
I felt like shit.
And the usual innocent look of his didn't make me feel any better.
Damn it! I can't just shoo him away after everything that just happened!
I grumbled a few words under my breath, scolding myself for what I was about to do.
"You can...sleep in my bed...with...me"
Each word I spoke had a hint of cringe and 'I want to punch myself'.
Deku saw right through all of that, and giggled as he made his way to my bed, once again.
After making himself comfortable and snug in the blankets, and another laugh slipping from his lips, Deku let out a giggly;
"Goodnight"
I blushed madly while getting under the covers again.
"yeah...goodnight.."
Our backs were facing one another, but I could still feel the warmth of his smaller figure.
Muffled words came from the sleepy sounding boy next to me.
"...i love you, kacchan.."
My embarrassment left me, as did an amused laugh.
"I know."
