Why?

That was the question.

Why did his heart flutter around such a mere human?

Why does he think about her when she isn't there?

Why?

Subaru sat beside (Y/N), observing her as she talked endlessly about her new obsession.

Anime.

The young girl was totally immersed in the topic when she wasn't in school or Subaru was around.

Every now and then she'd have a new obsession. It was common by now for him.

For some reason though, he found it highly hard to looked away from her once she started on telling him about things.

It was a strange and almost unwanted feeling. One that drove him almost crazy.

"And yesterday the new Drama CD for H-.... What?"

She had stopped her long talking because of the strange look Subaru was giving her.

He sat next to her, his hand a few millimeters from hers.

"Huh? Oh, nothing." He grumbled, scooting away a fraction and looking away.

"Yeah right." She scoffed, giving a joking smile.

Subaru flinched when he felt her warm hand caress his cold hand.

"Hey.. are you alright?"

He yanked his hand away, ignoring the slight pink on his deathly pale face.

"I'm fine! Don't get worried or anything!" He yelled loudly, standing, looking down at her.

"Subaru?" She questioned, startled. He was usually so sweet, where was this side coming from?

Subaru planted a hand on his hip, looking down at her with an angry look.

"W-What did I do?" 

"Nothing. Much."

"Huh? Tell me!" She said, her voice rising as she stood as well.

"No!"

"Come on!"

"No way!"

Subaru started to frown like a little kid who couldn't decide if he wanted to play or watch TV.

(Y/N) suddenly grabbed his collar.

"Make up your mind Subaru! Your really bugging me!" She growled, flicking his forehead.

(Y/N) also had a sweet side and a angry side.

One which she didn't like to show often.

Subaru caught her hand, his pupils dilating.

"Fine. I'll tell you."

"Finally!" She exclaimed, smiling widely, ignoring his tight grip on her hand.

"What's been bugging me has been you . With your talks about your obsessions, always making me think about you, making me think how cute or pretty you looked when you went off on a tangent about the things you were passionate about. You always have that unique look on your face. That one of thrill and pleasure. It's strange and new to me, and I can't help want to see it every second...."

(Y/N) looked shocked, her knees almost giving out.

She was a loner, until she met Subaru.

He was her only friend. And he was this bothered by her? He had noticed this much about her?

It was like a strange dream to her. One that was strange and foreign.

"You noticed that much about me?"

Subaru now was actually keeping her upright as she stared in astonishment at him.

"Y-Yes..." He admitted, staring at her.

"Why?"

"Because.... your different... and it made me want you."

"You silly, you know that?"

"What? How am I silly?"

"Because. I never thought that a Vampire would be so wrapped up in a human. It surprised me when you didn't decline my company after awhile. It took ages to get to be friends with you."

"You know I'm a Vampire?" He questioned, his gaze hardening.

"Duh! Idiot! Of course I knew, you have such long pointy fangs! I'd be stupid not to tell."

She felt his abnormally strong arms wrap around her bringing her close to him.

He hugged her so tightly, she thought he'd pop her lungs.

"S-Subaru! I can't breath!"

Subaru let go slightly, cupping her soft cheek.

His warm breath hit her face, making her cheeks flush.

"What are you doing Goof."

"What my mind has been telling me not to do."

Her eyes widened as he kissed her extremely passionately, sending her head reeling.

It was really happening The guy she never knew she'd had a crush on was kissing her.

He nipped at her lip, with his sharp fangs, drawing slight blood.

(Y/N) gasped, making him lick away the blood instantly.

Finally they broke apart, catching their breath.

"You fool. Why didn't you tell me this sooner?"
