-Valerie is a mix of a lot of traits. Some of them are more appealing than the others. Her flaws are often well concealed by her positive approach and strong determination but she surely has those like everyone else. She is a fiercely independent person now which is completely opposite to what she used to be when she was younger. A younger version of Valerie was someone who got easily scared, cried when the things got slightly inconvenient for her and depended a lot on others. With time all of those disappeared as she grew, she became someone who didn't need anyone for herself. She learned to do things her own way and make her own way. Valerie does not like being told what to do and openly speaks her mind when someone tries to force their will on her. She is a strong speaker and her words always make an impact. She is a thinker and usually takes her time to think through a tough situation before making her decisions. She likes to work for her future and is extremely hard working. She keeps her head high even when she's overwhelmed. She appreciates honesty and is loyal to those who are loyal to her. She doesn't, rarely trusts anyone which is the reason she doesn't really have any friends. She would keep people close to her but never acknowledge them as friends unless they have really made an impact on her. She loves to take care of her grandparents and her mother and those are the only one who truly make her happy. She hates to cry and sees tears as weakness so when she cries about something, she knows it deeply affected her mentally. She likes to be in charge of her own emotions and hardly cracks in harsh situations.
She can sometimes be arrogant if not all the times and has no tolerance for people who are stupid. She is a spoiled brat though it was all of her own money that she used to spoil herself. She doesn't know when to stop spending. She doesn't hesitate in picking a fight with whoever. She is reckless to the point, she does not care who gets hurt when she is on a revenge mission. She loves gossip and likes to hear all of it. She is persuasive and has her ways to manipulate and use people. When in public or with her family, she is extremely kind and cheerful. A side or hers that she rarely shows in school. She is sophisticated and associates herself with only those who she sees fit for her company. She is someone who does not tolerate bullying at all and hates those more who stand and get bullied. No matter what, she can never understand them. She is sarcastic and her remarks are often filled with humor. She does not care about a lot of people and almost never stops to help anyone. She is though very social when she wants to be and making friends comes as something easy for her. She has learned to be more open to other people's feelings with time but still she puts herself first and cares about her own the most. She has temper issues that directly connect to her ocd as when it gets out of control and mixed with her anger, she becomes explosive, harming herself and those who are in the room.

-Valerie was born in Seoul, South Korea. Her small family consisted of only her parents. They loved her more and more as she started to grow up. Her father was a businessman, owning a flourishing business in technology and her mother worked as a curator in a gallery that she owned. Her grandparents never accepted her parents' marriage as it was something they did against their will. Valerie's mother was originally from Florida and her father met her during his college years. The two fell in love and married. Later they moved to South Korea but things did not go well for them. Her father was disowned by his parents because he married a foreign woman. Valerie never got to meet her paternal grandparents. However She grew up in a loving atmosphere or at least that was until she was eight. Valerie was a calm and happy kid as she grew but there were some days when she came back from school to hear screaming and crying in the house. Her parents started to fight and were often oblivious to her presence in the home. The consistent fighting gave Valerie anxiety. As she grew and talked about it her friends in school, they kept telling her that her parents would separate soon and she'd have to leave with one of them. Valerie's anxiety slowly started to affect her grades and at the age of ten, she gave up on school for a couple of months. Her parents were called by school and the news of Valerie not reaching school for two months came as a shock to them. Valerie spent the time she was supposed to be in school, sitting around in parks or just aimlessly walking around until she got tired. Her parents saw her behaviour was because of their fighting and seemingly stopped.
They acted as if everything was okay between them in front of her and kept her happy. Valerie was however not easily fooled. She could hear them arguing in the middle of the nights. Their hushed voices while their argued and the sounds of physical fights kept her awake. She shut herself off from her parents, not being old enough to understand why they fought. Valerie was eleven and returning home from school when she saw a crowd and cops gathered in front of her house. Valerie pushed past the crowd just in time to find her father's blood drenched corpse being taken out of the house by the medics along with a man handcuffed. She ran into the house to find her mother tied to a chair, being helped by the cops. Her mother never told her what happened but it was everywhere in the news and Valerie saw it, understood it with time. Apparently her father had an affair with a married woman for years which was what the main reason of fighting between her parents. That woman's husband that day barged into their house and killed her father in a fit of rage, making her mother watch the whole thing. She had called cops right when the man started beating up her father but they were too late. The man had already killed him and cut one of her mother's thumb off. He planned on killing her too but the cops reached just in time to save her. However her father paid the price of his affair with his life. Her mother was pregnant at the time but the stress from incident caused her miscarriage. After that her mother got into the business that her father owned to run it. They moved to Miami, Florida close to her maternal grandparents lived. Valerie continued her school there.
Valerie already suffered from anxiety but what happened with her father gave her ocd. She would constantly check doors and windows for locks and got extremely particular about the security system as she grew. She became obsessed with her mother's security. There were a couple of years when she freaked out when she couldn't contact her mother. She would call the cops without thinking twice and as the time passed her ocd started to become worse, to the point that she'd experience panic attacks. She became violent during those and ended up hurting herself. She was kept under constant watch and her grandmother would never leave her alone when she was at home. She was fourteen when she experienced such attack and accidentally hurt her grandmother. She threw a glass vase in the fit of attack and it hit her grandmother in the head. Fortunately her mother and grandfather reached home just in time to rush her grandmother to the emergency room and she got the immediate medical attention. Valerie was devastated, blaming herself for what happened. It was then Valerie realised that she needed help and asked her mother for it. Valerie then made sure that she would take control of her ocd and anxiety and slowly got better. She did not experienced another attack for the years that followed. Her life changed for good when she turned sixteen.
Valerie took part in an ad campaign for her mother's business. It was something to keep her occupied along with her studies. However the ad got attention of many and she was offered to get into modelling by a well known agency. With her mother's approval, Valerie got into it and found she loved being in front of a camera. For the next few years she worked tirelessly, keeping her ocd at bay and becoming more and more popular in the world of fashion and modelling. She started out working with really small brands and local magazines but as she turned eighteen, she was being signed by major brands and travelling frequently around the world for it. However all of it affected Valerie's grades too. She was naturally smart at books but she still needed to do her best. Which was why she decided to take a break from projects that'd require her to travel far from home and instead focus on her senior year and making the most of it. She became only stronger and more dependent with time and experience, turning into the determined, powerful and sophisticated girl that she presents herself to be in the world today.
