Tears swelled up in my eyes. As I stand in in front of Kachan. Standing in front of a another kid who was crying and hurt.

"Why are you being so mean? Your making him cry, Kachan! If you keep on hurting him..."

I balled up my fist and held them close to my chest. Closing my eyes.

"I'll- I'll uh... I'll stop you myself!"

Kachan and his friends just looked at me. As I heard a hum come from him.

"Mmh, you wanna pretend to be a hero. You don't stand a chance with out a quirk. Deku."

He said with a grin. I gasp as I take a step back. Still standing in front of the kid. I wasn't going to let him hurt him. I wasn't going to let that happen!

Bakugo raised up his fist coming at me. About to use his quirk. I closed my eyes waiting for impact....

Until, I heard a zapping sound. I open my eyes to see Kachan and his friends backed up...I looked down to see smoke appeared coming off the ground and a burned mark.

"You know it's non hero like to attack people who aren't attacking you first. Don't you have any honor?"

That voice ... It was Y/N!

Y/N gets closer to us, putting her sunglasses back on her eyes. Standing next to me. "You alright, Izuku?" She asked me with a kind smile.

I quickly whip away the tears from my eyes. "I-I am! Arigatou-gozaimasu!" I bow my head over and over. If it wasn't for her...I'd probably be beaten to a pulp.

She walks over to the other kid and helps him up. Brushing him off as he bows his head to the both of us. Thanking us for helping him.

I heard Kachan click his tongue. "Tch, come on." He exclaimed as he, and his friends walked off... He was never this mean. Why did he have to change.

Here's the sad truth, all men are not created equal. When I was four years old I learned that some kids have more power than others...

But that won't hold me back! If anything it pushes me better!

I run through the city with my bright yellow backpack with a smile on my face. There was a villain at the Tatooin Station. I didn't want to miss some hero action!

I finally get there was there was already people coming to see the action.

"W-whoa! That's one huge super villain!"

I proclaimed out in excitement. Watching how it started to destroy things it path. Just then heros started to show. I gripped onto my bookbag with over coming joy. I wanted to take out my notebook right now but I didn't want to miss any bit of the fight.

I saw the Punching hero "Death Arms." As he grabbed a electrical tower that nearly crushed down on everyone. Before I thought it could get any cooler, the rescue specialist "Backdraft" had created a water like barricade to make sure no one stepped out a line.

"Everyone please stay back. This areas far to dangerous."

He warns everyone. I begin to over heard what had caused all of this mess in the first place.

"This guy must be pretty desperate to go full monster in the middle of the city. You know what happened?"

"Just some amateur. Stole someone's bag and got himself cornered."

"A Quirk like that and he's just a petty thief."

I pushed past the two and got closer to the scene getting a better look from here. Just as I did so, someone flew above us and just down running to the scene. As a bunch of girls together all yelled out in unison.

"AHHHH! KAMUI WOODS!WE'RE YOUR BIGGEST FANS!"

Kamui Woods jumps onto a building which catches the villains attention, trying to hit him but misses. As he jumps up in the air looking down at the villain.

"Get away from me! OR I'LL BREAK YOU TO BITS!"

The villain yells in anger. I get in the front of the group with a smile plastered on my face.

"Ah this is gonna be good! It's Kamui Woods! He may be new but hes making a big name for himself!"

I said out loud with my fist close to my chest with eagerness.

"One look at that dopey grin and I know what you are. A fanboy."

An old man next to me with three spikes poking out from his head, called me out. Making me blush with embarrassment. Paying attention back over to Kamui Woods who was doing amazing! His methods were planned through and he was really making a breakthrough to the villain. I wonder what's his next move going to be!

"Assault, robbery, and an illegal use of power during rush hour in traffic. You are the incognition of evil."

He bellowed to the villain holding out his arm as it began to grow in larger size. Making bigger and longer roots.

"There! His special move!"

"Go on tree man! Show us something flashy!"

"The preemptive-"

"-binding...LACQUERED CHAIN PRISON!"

He out stretches his quirk towards the villain... Until Mt. Lady comes from the other side and power kicks them off of the tracks... talk about coming in last minute. Just then a bunch of (male) photographers with cameras come all lining up taking pictures of her.

"Piece of cake for the world's next hottest hero. Hi there everyone I'm Mt. Lady. And you don't have to worry about this bum anymore."

She said with a wink. I rummaged through my bag trying to find my notebook. With the rise of superpowers came the explosive increase of criminal activity. While governments were stuck trying to figure out how to refer laws with quirks involved. Courageous people started to perform heroic acts to keep our city safe. Protecting us against villains who use their powers for evil. With overwhelming public support Heroes found an official place as peacekeepers as overseen by the government. Those who perform the best get paid the most and got all the fame and glory. Their careers depended on on their ability to stay in the spotlight.

Has everyone else went away from the scene I still stayed where I was. Taking down notes of the heroes in my notebook. Mumbling to myself without even noticing. Also not even noticing the old man was also still next to me.

"What's that fanboy? You takin notes over there? Wanna be a hero to huh?" He asked me with a thumbs up. I turn over to him with a happy smile.

"Yes! More than anything!"

"So...as third year students it's time to start thinking seriously about your futures and what you want to do with your lives. I could pass out some career aptitude test, but!"

The teacher snatches the papers as everyone sits up straight.

"Why bother! Hah I know you all want to go to the hero track!"

He exclaims out throwing the papers up in the air as everyone in the classroom began to use their quirks. I kept my head down in my notes as I was writing until I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Yo, Izuku. We still up for that study session today?"

Y/N, L/N. The coolest person in the world... Besides All Might of course! But in my opinion...she's the coolest girl I've ever met. Her quirk... It's so strong. Not only does she have a strong quirk! And amazing too! Already at a young age she has a spirit like a hero! I wish I was like her.

"O-Oh! Hai! Of course!"

I stutter out. Y/N has been my friend ever sense we were kids...in fact... We all were friends... Until that one day we're everything change. Even though it all. She never left my side. And she always help me put a smile on my face.

"You also going to the hero track as well, Izu?"

She asked me fixing up her sunglasses. Having a smile on her face like always way. I hesitantly nod looking away from her.

"Sweet, hopefully we'll make it together."

I was going to say something until...

"Hey teach, don't let me in with this bunch of losers. I'm the real deal but these guys but these guys will be lucky to be end up as sidekicks to some busted up D lister."

Katsuki Bakugo...

Everyone in the class was not happy to hear that as they all roared at him with disapproved comments. Asking him if he thinks that he's better than them... Which of course everyone should already know the answer to that.

"Come on, I'll take you all one." He says with a twisted grin. As if his ego wasn't big enough, the teacher adds in.

"Huh, you've got impressive test results maybe you will get into UA High." The teacher tells him while looking at the papers.

Everyone in the classroom went quiet as they all Mumble to one another. Getting into UA wasn't an easy task at least thousands of students try to apply there. Getting in there you have at least a 25/75 chance. Depending on how good your quirk is.

"That is exactly why it's the only place worthy of me. I aced all the mock tests. I'm the only one at the school who stands a chance at getting in. I'll end up more popular than All Might himself! And be the richest hero of all time. People all over the world will know who I am. And it all starts with UA High!" He exaggerates pointing at himself.

"Talk about cockiness am I right, Izu?" Y/N said with a chuckle, which made Bakugo turns around, glaring at her. "What the hell did you just say!?-"

"Oh yeah Midoriya don't you want to go to UA too?" The teacher said out loud unexpected making bakugo freeze in place. As he slowly turns his direction towards me.

I put my head down with my hand on top of my head. Jolting at the sound of my name. I look up slowly at everyone staring at me. Before they all burst out and laughter...they were laughing at me. Geez, talk about humiliation. I wanted to cry right then and there.

"Midoriya!? you're kidding right?!"

"There's no way you're getting into hero course without a quirk!"

They all kept laughing. I looked over at Y/N who was the only one not laughing. She was shaking her head in disapproval. This gave me a little bit of confidence as I stood up for my desk.

"Wha- actually, they got rid of that rule. I could be the first one!-" I set out until Kachan gets close to me and blows up my desk making me tumble back. Y/N getting up to and helping me back to my feet.

"What gives? Hey teach? You seeing this? Jesus who hired you..." Y/N said underneath her breath holding my hand.

"Listen up! Deku! You're even worse than the rest of these damn rejects you quirkless wannabe. You really think they let someone like you when they could have me!?" He roars out in fury.

I grab onto Y/N's arm. I felt safe...but I hate the fact she's always to my rescue. It seems like I can never stand up to myself. I'm always so weak... without a quirk. How can I even defend myself? I want to be her hero for once! I want to prove to her! I'm just as strong as everyone else!

"No wait! You've got it all wrong! Really! I'm not trying to compete against you. You got to believe me. It's just that I wanted to be a hero since I was little... I may not have a quirk but I can still try my hardest can't I?" I said looking at him.

I looked at Y/N, who was looking at Kachan. Due to her sunglasses I couldn't tell her expression. I was snapped out of it when Kachan and the other classmates swarm around us.

"You'd never be able to hang with the best of the best. You'd die during the exams!" He yells out. I lift my head down. His words stabbing me like multiple blades. They hurt a lot. Thoses words...

"Defenseless Izuku. School's already crappy you really want to embarrass it more by failing so hard-"

Just then a laser beam shoots past bakugo nearly hitting his head making him stop talking. As everyone in the whole class went quiet as they looked over at the burn mark in the wall that was burnt through.

"Honestly, for a group of students who claim they want to be heroes. Your actions don't really say heroic."

Y/N puts back on her glasses as she smiles. "So, why don't we cut the chit Chat and go back to our seats, yeah?" She told- no, ordered them.

Y/N, L/N. Quirk: Lazer Vision.

She can shoot heat lasers out her eyes that can go about 30 yards far. She can shoot a beam for only about 1 minute. If she goes over her limit, she will get major head pains and will start bleeding from the eyes. Which loses her eyesight for a few seconds.

Everyone returns back to their seats. Even the teacher was spooked a bit from her sudden use of her quirk. She helps me pick all my stuff back up. She truly was a hero. I never met anyone besides my mom who wasn't bothered at the fact I didn't have a quirk. No matter what, she was always there for me... She really is a Heroine.

School was over with and everyone began to leave their seats. I stayed at me seat a little longer and looked at my phone. Y/N staying along with me as she rested her head on my shoulder looking at my phone as well. My face heated up a bit from this.

"Man, that fight from this morning is all over the news." I commented about it trying not to be to flustered from Y/N's face being close to mine.

"You were there? Lucky, I was late to school this morning. Some dummy tried to mug an old lady first thing in the morning. That jerk did have a blade though, jerk ripped my uniform." She told me showing me her side showing a slice mark on her uniform. Making me freak!

"Your not hurt or anything right?!" I yelled out looking around her to make sure she wasn't hurt anywhere else. She places a hand on my shoulder sitting me down. "I'm fine, Izu. He missed my skin. I shoot a lazer at him, making him scared then he ran off leaving the bag."

I let out a sigh. She really was remarkable. Already helping people at this age, and yet I can't even stand up to Kachan...

"I should write some notes down before I forget anything." I said to her, putting my phone in my pocket. Grabbing my note book, just for Kachan to snatch it out my hand. Making me jump with surprise.

"I don't know what you're doing Deku, but we're not done. And you to toaster eyes!" He barks at Y/N. Y/N didn't do anything! All she did was help me! But she doesn't hold a reaction just giggles.

"Toaster eyes? Geez you would think of how high you are in your academics you would be better at name calling. But give Dek- *clears throat* Izuku back his note book please." She said to him. Just before two of Kachans friends come over.

"Watcha got? His diary?" His friend said as he looks at it closely. Which read 'Hero analysis for the future.' Making them laugh. "Huh? Don't tell me you're taking notes of how to be a hero? That's so pathetic!" They all laughed at him. "He's delusional!"

I didn't know what to say. I looked at Y/N who was waiting for me to say something back... She always told me I need to learn how to stick up for myself. And that's what I'm going to do!

"Real funny guys! Just give it back!" I asked Kachans, who used his quirk and burned my notes. "AHHHHH!....that's so mean..." I said sadly, watching him as he threw it out the window. Which made me freak out. I worked so hard in that journal.

"Thoses first string heros show potential early one. People look at them and just know that their destined for greatness. Where I'm the only student in this garbage Junior High to get into U.A. People will start to talk to me like that. They'll realize I'm legit and the next big. That's not ego talking I just know I'm good." He proclaims looking the other way.

I just stand there. Helpless...what do I do...what do I say. Am I really that worthless...?

"And Y/N here is just as pathetic. Always coming to save you and sticking up to you. You both will never be as good as me. Especially you Deku." He goes to touch me but Y/N moves me back. Kachans smiles eviliy looking at me.

"Here's a little word of advice, nerd. Don't even think about applying, or else." He threatens me, walking away with his friends. I just stand there. Shaking...

"That's just sad... I at least thought you had some fight in you. But it seems your bodyguard is always there for you. It's kinda pathetic always being saved by a girl."

"He finally gets it. He'll never be a hero. Better to find out now instead of later, I guess."

Kachan then takes a halt as he turns his head over his shoulder. "You know if you really want to be a hero that badly. They're actually might be another way. Just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life. And take a swine dive off the roof of the building."

I jolt hearing this. I felt my blood boil until I notice Y/N leaving my side. Before I knew it, the moment I turned around. A fist went in contact with Kachan's face. Punching him really hard as he stumbled back. "AHHHH Y-Y/N!?" I freaked out. Why did she do that?!

Kachan growled as he holds his face. His friends next to him get scared as they leave him. He gets up with a very angry look. Mean while Y/N just stands up, still having a smile on her face.

"You know you really shouldn't say things like that to people." I saw steam come out through her sunglasses. Was she...mad!? "And you really shouldn't talk so much yourself...when with a attitude like that..." She grabs onto his shoulder as her sunglasses fall down slightly. Revealing her pitch black hollow eyes... "You're already destined to be a villain, Katsuki Bakugo."

I shivered a bit. Y/N can be so scary sometimes. I looked at Kachan to see what he was going to next... And waiting to see when I'll have to get a teacher. But he didn't do anything next...he just sucks his teeth and walks out. But not before saying.

"Remember what I said Deku, if you even think about applying. I'll kill you!" And with that he left out of the classroom.

I walked shamefully to the side of the school building to retrieve my notebook. 'That idiot... He can't go around telling people to kill themselves. If I really jumped what would he do then.'

I looked at the pound full of catfish. As three we're trying to eat my notebook. 'My dreams have turned into fish food.' "That's enough give it back." I snap at the fishes as they swam away. I went to grab it but Y/N grabs it for me.

"You alright, Izuku?" She asked me, handing back my notebook. I felt my nose burn and my eyes nearly swelling up with tears. "...s-stupid jerk..." I choke out.

I still remembered the heart breaking truth when I was five. Hearing the doctor say I was quirkless. And that I could never be a hero. Just because I have a damn extra joint in my pinky toe ... I remember asking my mom if I could be a hero too. Her answer was not the answer I wanted it. Couldn't she see my world was crumbling as I cried.

I sniffed as I felt Y/N whip my tears away with her thumb. She lifted my face up to look at her. She was very pretty. I can't lie when I say I had a crush on her ever sense Junior High started, and still do.

"Y/N...do you...do you think I can still be a hero. Even without a quirk?" I asked her holding onto her hands. Her smile, it softens ...oh no. It's going to be the same answer I always get. I should have kn-

"Izuku..." She slaps my shoulder making me stand up straight. "Having a quirk can't tell you what you can or can not do! You need to stop worrying about what other people think! That is your problem! Tell me, do you want to be a hero?"

"Yes! More than anything!"

"Are you willing to train hard no matter how tired you get?"

"Yes!"

"Will you dedicate your own life to save others?"

"Yes!"

"Then that is your answer." She said straining up her glasses as it reflected in the sunlight. "H-huh? But- how ca-" She places a hand on my head. "Izuku. I don't think...I know you can become a hero. It will not be easy if you can defend yourself. But... I've seen you Izuku. If you put your mind to something you always get the job done." She grins at me. "Go beyond, plus ultra." She holds a thumbs up.

My eyes tear up more as I look up at her. I begin to bow and over. She believes in me! Thank you, Y/N!... Thank you for your determination, I will do my best.

"Arigatou-gozaimasu! I will not disappoint you! I will work hard! And I promise you!" I lift up to look at her as tears run down my face. "I will be the one to protect you! I will be your hero!"

"Haha! That's the spirit, Izuku!" She wraps a arm around me as she held me close. "Come on. I'll walk you back home."

I smiled back at her. Whipping my tears away. I made a decision this day. No matter what anyone else thinks. I have to believe in myself... And I'll keep smiling! Just like Y/N! And All Might!

I stand in front of Y/N holding my fist up and started to mimic All Mights laugh. Making Y/N laugh at me. Until I heard weird noises behind me. Y/N turned around as well. It was some giant sludge monster.

"IZUKU!" She runs over to me and holds onto her glasses. Reading to attack. I was in so much fear as I look up at the villain. I've never encountered a villain before.

"You two will make a perfect skin suits for me to hide in!" The monster comes at us. I scream and tried to run. Y/N trying to use her Quirk, as it was no use all it did was burned through the sludge make it in a different pieces, but it just came back together again.

"Crap! Izuku run!" She runs with me...but I wasn't so lucky as I get sucked into the sludge villain grasp. I felt it take hold of me. Going inside my body. "Don't worry I'm just taking over your body. It'll be easier for both of us if you don't fight back. It'll only hurt for a minute. You'll feel better soon."

I can't breathe...

"Scram all you want my body is made of fluid. Thanks for the help you're a hero to me kid. I didn't know he was in the city. I got to get out of here fast. Before he tracks me down!"

My body... getting...weak...

I think...I'm dying.

"IZUKU!"

I looked over at Y/N. I saw her drop her glasses... As my eyes slowly blinked....she was powering up her quirk....she's using it at full blast! Using to much of your quirk is dangerous! She can't.....

Then then I felt a powerful blast as air filled my lungs once again. I drop to the floor and gasp. Coughing violently as I held my throat. My vision was blurry. My throat hurts so much...

My eye began to clear up as I saw Y/N on her knees covering her eyes with her arm. She did it....she saved me. Now, she's hurt because of me...is that blood? Oh no! Y/N-

I looked around to see the bits of the villain everywhere... As they began to slowly come back together... Merging into one being again. Not again! It was not happy as it looked it looked at us. Before the villain did anything... A man whole cover gets thrown at the villain. Making it turn around.

"Have no fear...Your safe."

No way...is that!?

"Now that I'M here that is!"

All Might!?

I watched as the villain tried to attack All Might. Which he dodges with ease. Lunging towards the villain and standing his ground balling up his fist. He was about to use one of his attacks! His smile on his face...that smile I always remembered.

"TEXAS....SMAAAAASHHHH!"

Sending a powerful blow right at the villain. It began to struggle and fall apart...before exploding. It was so many things all at once...my mind was racing...my eyes grew heavy....I watched as my Hero starts to get closer to me... As I then lose conscious.

"Izuku...Izuku?....IZUKU!"

I jolt up as I gasp. Holding onto my chest as I pant out. Looking up to see....All Might and Y/N in front of me.

My heart nearly stopped at the site. I began to scream and backing up. Y/N gives him a weird look. "Thought we lost you there." She said to me.

"Well, it looks like your friend is moving alright. Whag you did back their for your friend was impressive. You have a strong quirk young miss. Hey, I know you. Your Fats kid right? My have you grown. Sorry about that back there, didn't mean to get you caught up in my justice-ing. Usually I pay more attention to keeping bystanders safe. But it turns out this Citys sewers system is pretty difficult to navigate. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

I couldn't believe it what I was seeing. All Might right in front of me. I thought I was dreaming. "Yo, Izuku? You okay?" Y/N helps me up by taking my hand. Wrapping my arm around her neck. "Holy crap I got to get an autograph! I got a pen around here somewhere- uh please sign my notebook!"

Y/N holds up my Notebook showing he already signed it. "AHHHH HE ALREADY DID." I yelled out in happiness. "Gee z, Izu how many more times are you gonna scream? My heads gonna explode."

I looked up at up. Her glasses were off. It was rare seeing her without them. They were hallow and empty but steam was coming out of them. Blood was smudge underneath her eyes too. She really use all of her strength to help me...I am internally grateful.

"You two take it easy now. And young L/N here should rest her eyes. Wouldn't want your dad to be worried. Welp, I gotta take this guy to the police so they can take care of him. Stay out of trouble you love birds. See you around." He said with a salute.

"All Might knows your dad? Wait, love bir- Wait, your leaving!? Already!?" I asked kinda sadly. He was leaving already? So soon? "He's the number one hero, Izu. We shouldn't stall him." Y/N tells me.

"Young L/N is right! Pro heros are constantly fighting crime as well as enemies." All Might said stretching his legs.

He can't go yet. There's still so many questions I have to ask him.

"Now stand back. I'm taking off." He super jumps in the air and flies off. "THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!"

I had quickly grabbed a hold of his leg as I was holding on for dear life. All Might looks down at me, with a worried smile. "Hey hey hey! What do you think your doing!?" He then tried to push me off which made me hold on tighter. "Let go! I love my fans but this is to much!" He tries to push me off more.

"Wait your flying! If I let go I'll die!" I cried out still holding onto his leg now scared. "Oh...that's a good point." He came to realize. No longer trying to push me off. "I wanted to ask you personally! You are my all time favorite hero! All Might, please!" "Alright alright! Just keep your eyes and mouth shut." He tells me with I do as I place my face on his leg. Hugging onto him. Feeling his hand grab onto my bag do I don't slip... I can wait to tell Y/N about this! Oh yeah Y/N! She's probably so worried!

I felt All Might land on something and he places me down. My mouth and eyes dry from keeping them open for so long as I panted. "My whole life just flashed before my eyes." I said shaking. "Nor a smart move. Bang on the door for a while. Someone will let you in. Now I have to go. I'm pretty sure you don't want to keep Young L/N waiting." All Might began to walk off.

"Wait! Not yet! One second!"

"No! I don't have any time-"

"I have to know...is it possible to become a hero even if I don't have a quirk." I had to ask....I had to know! "I'm a normal kid without any powers. Could I ever hope to be someone like you!... Could ever be someone like Y/N?..."

Meeting All Might was a dream come true. A real miracle. Standing in front of me was the hero I idolize most of my life. I didn't realize it at the time. But that chance in counter would change the course of my future...
