Chapter IX
The rest of the school day went fairly quickly. Hasumi hadn't even known it was near the end of the day until it was the end of the day and the bell rang. Time really flew by. As he packed his things, he noticed the twins waiting for him.
"Do you need something?" Hasumi asks curiously.
"Yeah, you to hurry up so we can walk home together!" Akisada says playfully, much to Hasumi's surprise.
Hasumi had never walked home with other people before. It was a nice thought. He had seen several people do it and kind of envied them. But now, he was one of those people! He quickly scrambled to hurry up before a slung his bag over his shoulders and joined the twins.
"S-Sorry, I didn't know that you were waiting so we could walk home from school! I-I'll be quicker next time!" Hasumi says before Yahiro chuckles and ruffles the greenette's hair.
"Relax, Hasumi! It's totally cool, don't worry! First time walking with others, huh?" Yahiro asks, the shorter male nodding.
Hasumi wasn't the only one walking home with other people. Shimazaki grumbled a bit as he walked with his parents, his gaze on the ground. This was probably the most embarrassing thing for the ravenette.
"How was this one in class today?" Bakugou asks Kirishima as he glances at Shimazaki, who was in the middle of them.
"Good! He made some friends today!" Kirishima exclaims, earning a huff from Shimazaki.
"They aren't my friends. They're just extras that decided to sit with me," The ravenette huffed as he shoved his hands into his pockets.
"Really? You and that Matsuda girl seem to get along!" The redhead points out with a grin as Bakugou rose a curious eyebrow, looking at his son.
"Eh, I guess giggly isn't that bad," Shimazaki mutters with a bored shrug. "The other two are idiots. And off white doesn't like me."
"Oh no, we're playing the nickname game!" Kirishima jokes with a laugh, Bakugou snickering a little as Shimazaki clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Nearby but out of earshot, another group walked together, Okumara being in the middle as Tsubaki and Ugumori were at his side. The two younger males looked at their older half brother as he spoke, a small smile on their faces.
"As the eldest, it is my duty to assure that the two of you return home safely, hence why I do this every time. Besides, I have done this for us since elementary and I do not plan to stop today," Okumara explains to the two calmly as they walk.
"I know, but still! We can walk home by ourselves, Okumara!" Tsubaki assures with a chuckle and a smile.
"Yeah! We're grown," Ugumori jokes with his usual grin.
"I'm well aware but something could happen to you and I'd prefer to know and be there to protect you," Okumara says as he pushes up his glasses before he stops in front of a house and looks at Tsubaki. "Please tell Miss Hatsume I said hello."
"Got it! Later Okumara and Ugumori! See you two tomorrow!" Tsubaki says as he takes out his keys and goes to the house.
"Bye Tsubaki!" Ugumori calls out with a grin before he and Okumara keep walking, now on there way to Ugumori's home.
You see, the three of them didn't live together. That much was obvious. However, Okumara always felt it was his responsibility to make sure none of his two half siblings got hurt. He'd honestly feel horrible if any of them got hurt. As they walked, a girl about their age with black hair and golden eyes accidentally bumped into the two.
"Sorry!" She says, Okumara taking note of her fangs and her attire.
For someone who had a backpack on, it was odd that she didn't have a uniform on but rather, she had casual clothing on.
The girl kept walking after the short exchange, Okumara shrugging off any suspicion he had. Matsuda took a deep breath. She was relieved that Okumara didn't try and interrogate her about not being in uniform. You see, where she had to go, her uniform would have gotten dirty and she didn't want to have wash it every day.
Matsuda looked around making sure no one was around before she quickly entered the woods on the outskirts of town. Her footsteps crunched softly against soil under her shoes. Matsuda smiled and hummed softly to herself as she walked, going deeper and deeper into the woods before a voice stopped her.
"Welcome back from School."
