Chapter 38: Sokcho Date

With the sun slowly rising from the east, Seungwoo and I were headed to Sokcho. He surprised me yesterday with a necklace and now, a trip to Sokcho. I've never been in this city before. Seungwoo being with me for the first time made it memorable.

"I think they will be upset for not letting them go with us Seungwoo." I stated my worry. It could've been more fun if they were with us.

"Don't worry about them because they know that we're here to celebrate our 100 days together." He pressed my hand that was resting on my lap. "This day is for the two of us. Let's be happy okay?" He kissed the back of my hand and I smiled at him.

"Happy 100 days, love." This time, I was the one who kissed the back of his hand. His eyes widened when I kissed all his fingers. "That were six kiss in total. You have 94 kisses left from me, my galaxy. And I have 99 kisses left from you."

Seungwoo laughed at my silly idea. It was a prolonged laugh that his eyes wrinkled and his all body synchronized with his laughs.

When I wasn't able to meet Seungwoo in my life yet, my life goals were always lofty which made me even think that maybe I will never taste the thing they called satisfaction. Satisfaction with small achievements and living simply. There's always more within me which kept pushing me to step forward and to not feel grateful with what I had. Enough was never enough for me.

And when I think about those moments in my life now, for me, it wasn't wrong. Dreaming further than the sun had been with us since we knew how to dream. Getting things, achieving things more than what we imagined were always there as motivation so we won't stop living our lives. In short, they were the starter pack on how to live our life fruitfully. Without the thirst for those big dreams, we will be in slums, crawling pitifully without achieving any single thing. Big dreams were our way to live continually and were source of hope.

When I first laid my eyes on Seungwoo, my heart and mind told me that I already found the someone in my dreams. I was awakened by the fact that at some point in our life, we'll meet a person who can turn enough into satisfaction.

We left at 5 am and spent two hours on the car together before arriving to the place. The travel was breathtaking thanks to nature which never failed to gave amazing sceneries.

I opened the car's window on my side and savored the sea breeze. Seungwoo glanced at me mirthfully.

"Sokcho is definitely a worthy place to visit!" I muttered, admiring every corner of the city. The seacoast was blanketed with white sands which made me feel enthusiastic to have fun on the beach.

It's been an aeon since I visited a beach. The fascinating beauty of Sokcho beach mesmerizes me. I am so lucky that my boyfriend was thoughtful enough to bring me here. He never hesitated to do something in order to make me happy.

"You seem like you want to swim badly, baby. Are you a good swimmer?" He asked me. I met his gaze and nodded confidently.

"I used to swim when I was in elementary which means I know the basics. How about you?" I answered softly trying to remember what were the basics I'm talking about.

"Just a casual swimmer. I can stay alive in the sea water if I don't go deeper than my height, right?"

I smacked his hand at his corny joke. "Your jokes are creepier than the ghosts."

He acted like his heart was hurt. "Do you like to eat shrimp?" He asked. We didn't take our breakfast yet and my stomach started to growl.

"I badly want to eat anything and now that you mentioned about shrimp, I am already craving for it!"

We stopped at the seaside where a small stall was standing. Seungwoo has gone here many times in nature with his work. Apparently, a taxi driver is a traveller because they always travel anywhere. Driving must be tiring but the beautiful sceneries can relieve their stress. Drivers might take the same path everyday but they're doing it to make their family to take a bright path.

"Let me treat you this time, Seungwoo." I nudged his arm when he tried to take out his black wallet from his pocket. He creased his forehead and was persistent.

I tsked. "I'll be upset if you won't let me treat you." I pouted. Seungwoo messed my hair and surrendered.

"Two servings of lemon garlic shrimp please." I ordered to the attendant. She was fast enough that we didn't wait longer for our food.

Sokcho was beautiful enough to attract local and foreign tourists. There were already a few foreign tourists who bought shrimps from the same stall.

A blonde girl caught my eye when she was always taking a glance on our side. I knew it by then that she was eyeing at my boyfriend. I faced Seungwoo and tiptoed so I could kiss his lips.

"What's with the sudden kiss?" Seungwoo asked me with smile on his lips.

"To let everyone know that you're mine." I answered, looking at the blonde girl. He seemed to understand what I meant because he snaked his arm on my waist.

The blonde girl laughed bitterly at our sight. I will never let my history repeats again. No blonde girl or any other girls shall take my boyfriend away from me ever again. I already learned my lesson. As much as possible, I don't want to be a possessive and clingy girlfriend but in this circumstance, I can't hold back. My boyfriend's too handsome and hot that he can even make the grandmas to turn their heads on him.

"This is so tasty!" I exclaimed while savoring the shrimp on my mouth. It's very tender and it melts directly.

"Sorry if I only bring you here now." He made an apologetic smile.

"Never be sorry for that small things love. I am grateful that you brought me here." I smiled and picked a shrimp to feed it to him. Seungwoo opened his mouth and take in the shrimp unto his mouth.

I blinked when he swiftly licked my fingers and bit it. "My fingers aren't edible!" I complained.

It wasn't a long drive when we reached Sokcho's downtown. The overwhelming view and number of people walking on the outskirts of the downtown mesmerized me. Not far from my point of view, the Dakgangjeong Alley near Sokcho Tourist and Fishery Market stood before us. It was the reason why people kept on walking back and forth.

"We'll be celebrating our 100 days eating here." Seungwoo winked at me and dragged me out of the car. He stole my shoulder bag from me and wore it on his shoulder.

Seungwoo walked like he owned the pathway. He really knew how to stand and walk the stunning way. He's a head turner wherever he goes.

Ther was a flock of highschool students who was giggling on the side, holding Tanghulu in their hands. They secretly took pictures of Seungwoo which was very obvious. They're just highschool students so I'm not really jealous and I'm craving for Tanghulu.

"I wanna have the strawberry one!" Seungwoo bought a stick of Tanghulu and handed it to me. I eat a circle and muched it thoroughly. It was crunchy and sweet!

"Let's have some sweet and sour chicken!" Seunwoo dragged me on a different way.

After a few walk, we arrived at the number 1 sweet and sour fried chicken place. There were a lot of stalls side by side and I can't choose where to buy. Seungwoo held my hand tightly and brought me to a place he's familiar with.

The area wasn't packed making me more comfortable. The area was absolutely tidy and shiny which was a positive remark.

We studied the menu first and the boneless chicken caught my attention. I scratched Seungwoo's palm with my fingernail. He looked at me confusedly. "Can we have the boneless one?"

"That's what we're here for." He answered softly and went to the counter.

After ordering, we picked a table and ordered water in advance. The room was not quiet fancy because it was a small space and there were only four tables. The wait for the order wasn't long. Right after the waiter served the sweet and sour chicken, we asked the waiter to take a picture of us.

"One, two, three, say cheese.."

Seungwoo's arm was on my shoulder and our head touched each other. Seungwoo kissed my cheek and I closed my eyes and did a peace sign.

"Thank you!" I thanked the waiter and took pictures of the food. I captured a stolen shot of Seungwoo eating.

There was a spilled sauce on the side of his lips. Without hesitation, I wiped it using my finger. A trace of hesitation was on his face when I wiped it and it was turned into disgust when I licked my finger.

"You're disgusting.." he commented while making a sour face.

"Disgusting huh? You just refused to accept that what I did is hot!" I fired back making him mute.

he server came to us holding a box just like what we had. She smiled genuinely at us while handling the box. Seungwoo and I looked at her confusedly.

"You're an adorable couple which we admired. I hope you enjoyed our food. This is our restaurant's present for you."

Seungwoo gladly accepted the gift with a warm smile. "This is so thoughtful of you! We will definitely leave a good review to your restaurant."

"I hope you do please. This is the first time we have a visual couple who visited our restaurant. You both look like actors." She replied and complimented us.

"Like Kim Soohyun and Seo Yeji?" I joked which made her laugh.

"More than them." She replied quickly.

We left the restaurant with warm heart. Apparently, the restaurant that we just visited gives discount to pretty people. I don't know if it's positive or not but as to our experience, their service was great.

"Seungwoo.." I poked his shoulder when he put his seatbelts on. "Yes sweety?" He answered.

"Let's spend some time in the beach please? I wanted to feel the sea breeze and watch the waves." My hands were tugging his sleeve, wishing for him to say yes.

"If that's what you want. Might as well we buy an ice cream eh?" I nodded cheerfully.

Seungwoo was so good at picking stores. He bought a gelato potato ice cream and he got an additional one for free! The power of having a visual boyfriend!

The ice cream didn't melt yet when we arrived at the nearest entrance of Sokcho beach. The sea wasn't calm but the waves gave therapeutic sounds to my body. I licked on my ice cream consecutively after witnessing a breathtaking event brought by nature.

"My boyfriend's a boy scout," I commented when I saw Seungwoo preparing a blanket on the sand.

There were still a lot of things that I should know about him. He knew what to do on this trip and bought picnic materials so we could savor the moment. He tapped the blanket after he's done organizing. There was a basket filled with boxes of kimbap, sausage and grapes. He did not forget to bring a wine too.

"There's nothing you can do huh?" I sat down beside him and scooped the last amount of ice cream on my cup.

He smiled proudly. "I'm already great but you made me do my best." He leaned forward and kissed my forehead.

The beach was serene and the sky was like an alive painting. Every chirp of the birds and the clashing of the waves soothed my body. Seungwoo made me lie down on my back with my head on his lap. He stroked my hair back and forth while being awed at the majectic beauty of the sea. The clouds were dancing caused by the sudden wind directions and it was as if we're watching a play.

"That looks like a kangaroo, don't you think?" Seungwoo pointed a cloud which was nearly formed into a kangaroo. "And that one looks like a cotton candy." He added while pointing at a random cloud form.

I pinched his chin. "Dumbass. Every cloud looks like a cotton candy!" I retorted which made him frowned.

"I completely disagree to your claim my love. Not every cloud looks like a cotton candy, some of them are just playing with our minds," he stated like he was a theorist.

"What's your point then handsome guy?" I asked uninterested. He poked my nose and just shrugged.

"Before our cloud argument can lead to an actual fight, we'll order food first okay? Does abai sundae ring a bell to you?" He asked while tracing my face. He's touches were soft making my heart flutter.

I chinked my eyes looking directly into his eyes. "I can now imagine myself eating that food Seungwoo. You better hurry and order it!" I stood up to scroll on my phone to look for more food to order.

As the sun slowly consumed by the darkness, our order arrived. The smell of the abai sundae and the cold buckwheat noodles with raw fish made our stomach growled in sync.

"We're really both hungry." I stated and slapped Seungwoo's arm.

"Your hand is very heavy. Everytime you slap my arm, it stings pretty badly." He confessed but his face had no trace of pain.

We both savored the food until the sky turned into dark and the stars twinkle on the firmament.

"I wish we could be together even in our next lives." Seungwoo uttered fervently. He was staring at the sky and his hand was playing on his toe.

I wrapped my arm on his arm to make him feel comfortable. "We'll just have to believe that we could be each other's galaxy and universe in our next lives. Nothing is impossible for a couple who's inlove with each other. And I don't want any man other than you in my next life."

He intertwined our fingers together and kissed it with his plump lips. "Me neither. It's you or no one else."

"I want to show you something.." I whispered beneath my breath. Seungwoo's forehead creased as I slowly pulled up my dress exposing my thigh.

He's face reddened and I can't blame him though. His girlfriend has an awesome legs.

I was wearing a black cycling and pulled it down a little to expose my pelvis. I watched his reaction thoroughly and he was deeply moved by what he saw.

"It's a chinese character of your name babe and I guess you know it."

I tattoed his name on my skin to show him how much I'm whipped for him. His name was already tattoed in my heart but I like to see his name on my skim everyday.

He wiped his tears of adoration. "You tattoed me on your skin. I am completely dumbfounded. You never failed to make me fall deeper to you. I love you Harin."

"Time will come that my skin will decompose but you don't have to worry because in our next lives, I will never hesitate to ink my skin with your name. Te amo, Han Seungwoo."

I closed my eyes as he leaned to kiss my lips. The kiss was giving a different sensation as we're celebrating our 100th day. It was soft, tender, and full of love.
