Yoon Harin

Seeing her crumbled my world. I was guilty all along but when I finally saw her, my felt numb and the guiltiness that I felt in the long run has multiplied. Instead of feeling thankful that she's okay, I can't be happy. She survived on her own even though I was there to help her. What if she died and I was the only who could help her? I would not think twice to blame myself. We're talking about life here. Life is priceless and everyone should fight for it, for our own and others lives.

Seungwoo, my ultimate weakness comforted me. I thought he was affiliated with her in a romantic way but behind their affection, it was philia. I was ultimately wrong. Nevertheless, I can't feel freedom in my heart. The past still consumed me and I don't know how to get out with it that's why I asked Seungwoo for space. Maybe I was really too guilty and I'm afraid that it will happen to me. What if I'll be on her shoes and someone was there but did nothing to save me?

I really met the nicest guy in the world and I'm honored that he likes me the way I like him. He knew that I was there, watching her sister on the hand's of the bad guy and did nothing to save her and their family's emotion but he remained silent and didn't blame me. Instead, he comforted me with words that could help me to stop blaming myself. He was there to remind me that I had done nothing wrong even though I felt like an accomplice. His confessions about how he struggled because of what happened added the fire to blame myself. If I only called the police right away, I think she wouldn't be assaulted and Seungwoo can live happily with his own choices. But if it didn't happen, can he be a taxi driver? Probably no and I would not have the chance to meet him. Maybe it's destiny that put strings to us.

The facts were spilled but his affection towards me blossomed. He didn't hesitate to unveil his feelings for me that I had been praying for. Han Seungwoo won't disappoint and that's the tea.

"Yoon Harin woah.." Euijin gaped, displaying a surprised expression and shook her head for countless times.

"Yah, Hong Euijin stop staring at me like that! You're attracting flies!" She covered her mouth with a hand and uttered a sorry.

I was busy on attending a customer earlier and now I'm vacant. Euijin find me weird the day I came back to work when Seungwoo and I became a thing.

"The smile on your face is getting weirder everyday and it looks awful. Everyone here find it creepy. Even gwajangnim and Wooseok sunbae agreed." She whispered in my ear and pulled the part of her upper lip.

"What's wrong with smiling? I read that when you always smile, it can make you look younger. Those two don't do it often, except for Wooseok sunbae who looks flawless as time goes bye, that's why they both look like a devil.. especially gwajangnim."

Euijin just likes to whisper around so I'm giving it to her for free. We both giggled as we find my last words funny. Before anyone could see us, we stopped and focused on our work again.

Just like the usual, I became the errand worker for the day and Wooseok sunbae was my driver.

"Sunbae.. let's leave after 5 minutes. I'll be waiting outside for you." He nodded and picked up his car key.

I prepared the things that should be passed on the main office. There were many folders so I put it inside a white eco bag. After a minute of waiting, his car arrived.

As much as I want to stop hitching on his car every morning and when we go home, I can't. He was always waiting for me and I don't have the courage to decline his offer. Seungwoo and I weren't still official cause I asked for space so I think hitching with Wooseok sunbae's not bad at all.

"You look odd.." he started which made me looked at his direction. I was able to see his side profile and damn, it was great but Seungwoo's the greatest. Why I am even comparing them?

"No, I don't. Why did you say it?" I asked curiously. Am I being too visible that everyone can read my emotions?

"You're being too formal on me. Sunbae..? You never called me that before without my name. Sometimes, you only call me by my name." He remained his eyes focused on the road but his attention was on me.

"Nah.. you're just hallucinating. This is my usual self and we are almost-friends remember?" I acted like nothing and just smiled.

We really never became friends until now.

He scowled and he drove the car slower. "You always have that gloomy face every morning but now, you look happy?" He was unsure at his statement. I chuckled.

"Should I be gloomy everday so you won't suspect me for anything? Yah, Kim Wooseok! I deserve a light too!" I shouted at him in disbelief. The nerve of this guy! He wanted to see me gloomy rather than happy?

"Whatever." I saw his eyes rolled.

Kim Wooseok has never been a gentleman. I carried the eco bag alone and he just watched me carrying it. He walk passed at me and strode like he was in a runway. People who were outside has their attention to him. And that's Kim Wooseok, the man who can steal someone's attention just by walking normally.

I walked on the other way so I won't look like his secretary. He's just a worker like me and I wouldn't let someone have an idea that I'm his secretary.

The files on my bag were passed through the accounting area. After some chitchats, I went out of the office. Wohee eonnie was walking in the hallway so I called her.

"Eonnie! I haven't seen you for a while! I missed you!" I hugged her.

"I missed you too! How are you?" She asked.

"Doing great I think. How about you?"

She raised her hand and I saw a shining and sparkling diamon ring on her ring finger. We squeked in unison. I intertwined my hands on her and jumped like a kid.

"Congratulations! You'll gonna be a wife soon. So who's the luckiest guy on earth?" I excitedly asked. I never thought she'll settle already but love's gonna make it possible.

"He's a CEO of a small entertainment. The wedding will be in two months. We were kind of in a hurry so the preparation is kinda hectic." She said in a happy tone. I gave her a suspicious look but she only slapped my arm.

"I'm not pregnant! We're just too inlove and we wanted to see each other when we wake up every morning. Isn't it sweet?" She giggled like a teenage girl.

"Really sweet." I said while imagining if it could be possible to me and Seungwoo.

On that night at the hotel, he offered to sleep on the sofa and I didn't ask him further to stay on the bed. After our steamy session, that's the best thing we could do. Our raging hormones shouldn't be tolerated on that situation.

"Yoon Harin, you wasted ten minutes!" A voice echoed on the hallway. Glad that we were only the ones in the hallway or else I couldn't save my pity face.

Kim Wooseok came bursting like he was in his period. Oh well, what's new?

"Goodbye eonnie!" I waved. She pointed Kim Wooseok, who was turning his back on us, and winked and gave me a thumbs up.

I already have a Han Seungwoo in my life and I'll no longer ask for another model-like swain. He's enough for me.

As we drove back to our office, I fished out my phone from my pocket and saw a message from Seungwoo.

Seungwoo🙊:

Can I fetch you later?

No! I need space remember?

All right. I'll be waiting 'till you'll get enough with your space. I miss you a lot!

I miss you too!

I can feel my whole face burning. It's just a text but Seungwoo can make me go crazy over him!

I stared at my phone reading back our messages. It's just a few saying that we miss each other but reading those can make my day.

"Using cellphone is a distraction in work. Stop using that!" He stole my phone away from me and turned it off before giving it back.

"You're so rude! I was texting my mom!" I said irately not trying to keep my cool.

"It's not a valid reason!" He bickered.

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. "We're not even at work! Can you please be considerate? You're ruining my day!"

He stopped his car on the side and faced me. "We're not arguing over a goddamn phone! Don't make it a big deal!" His eyes were fiery which made me flinched.

I kept silence to ignore him. I just turned on my phone ad received a message from Seungwoo. Without hesitation, I replied to him. He asked what I'm doing and told him I'm in the middle of going back to our office.

The car started to move. I knew that his eyes were on me but who cares. Seungwoo needs me and I need him!

Seungwoo🙊:

Don't blame yourself all over again okay? Everything's fine now. You should too.

My system ceased after reading his message. As much as I want to make everything fine, I just can't. I need to settle everything my issue to her. Talking to her might be the only way that I can forgive myself and that if she will forgive me. This will be a life-long scar that is hard to heal.

Me:

Let's wait for the right time.

I badly want to see her if it's possible.

Seungwoo🙊:

After that night, she didn't show up herself again.

It will be possible for sure.

"Do you want to get demerit points?"

My phone fell on the table causing a loud thud. Gwajangnim suddenly showed up his face close to mine that I was really surprised. I thought it was a hideous ghost!

I smiled awkwardly and hid my phone. I stood up to gave respect. "No gwajangnim.." I said like a scared pupil.

He can pull off as a seonsaengnim too! He looked like a strict teacher from an elementary school.

"I'm sorry but you got three points already!" He said in full conviction. I was trembling in fear. Euijin was good enough to stand beside me and held my hands.

I wonder why he's bad at me. Is my presence producing a bad vibes?

"Everyone got their demerits points today. Don't be scared." She tapped my back. I sighed in relief. I was just assuming too much that he only hated me.

"Kim Wooseok!" Gwajangnim shouted his name so all our heads turned to him. Will he get demerit points too?

"You've got 10 merit points for telling me who break the rules."

All our eyes widened from hearing the truth. The office were filled with murmurs and rants coming from us.

"He's such a devil! How could he do this to us?" Euijin said dramatically and put her hands on her chest acting like she's hurt deeply.

All of us looked at each other in disappointed and scoffed.

Kim Wooseok pretended like there's no fuss happenning in his workplace and continued doing his job.

"Y'all forgot that Kim Wooseok is my eyes here! If I can't see you, he sees you! And look at him, doing his work in the midst of your chaos. That's the true spirit of a worker. Go back to your work!"

I returned to my seat. Euijin was still making fuss. She got 6 demerit points, that's why. I opened the cap of the pen and started doodling on a clean sheet of bond paper.

"Are you a kindergarten?" Gwajangnim's voice echoed on the office. Another demerit point.

Everyone in the office, except gwajangnim, paid attention to Kim Wooseok.

"Yah Harin! Don't ride on his car from now on. That evil wench!" Euijin hissed and glared at Wooseok's direction.

"I'll never ride on his car. Never again." I answered her.

Wooseok's met my gaze and I glared at him. I thought he's being nice to me but little did I know he just wanted to bring me down.

Seungwoo🙊:

I badly want to fetch you :(

Omg! He's such a clingy bub. I giggled and encoded my reply.

Me:

Arraseo! Please fetch me
I'll be waiting~ :)

I excitedly waited for Seungwoo meters away from our office. He's bringing a taxi so we should follow the rules on where public vehicles can stop on our vicinity.

"Keep safe everyone!" I waved at my officemates who headed home already.

"Harin-ah, let's drink some beer and fried chicken? I wanted to detoxify!!" She screamed her lungs out when she noticed that Wooseok's car was approaching on our direction.

He stopped his car and lowered down his window. "Yoon Harin, let's go. Euijin-ah, I can drop you too."

Using my elbow, I poked Euijin. She cleared her throat. "We're okay and we don't need you."

Wooseok looked at me with full intensity. Uh-uh! You can't get me with that look! Because we ignored him, he drove off.

"Euijin, I can't come with you."

"Aish! I thought you'll gonna come. Fine!" I tapped her shoulder. "Let's get on the bus." She said.

"I'll be riding a taxi." I answered, hiding my excitement.

After she left, Seungwoo's taxi arrived. He came out from the taxi and moved towards me.

"Annyeong!" I said sheepishly. I was constantly fidgeting my fingers because his appearence was just breathtaking.

He kept on walking until he reached my location. He suddenly clashed his lips on me for a peck. I blinked my eyes and was frozen for a moment. What was that?

Seungwoo smiled timidly and scratch his nape. "Sorry, I was.. I just miss you. Mianhae.."

I hugged him. "It's fine. You can do whatever you want!"

He hugged me back for a minute and we went inside his car.

The idea of him fetching me is such a dream and I like it. I won't be missing him for a long period cause I want him to fetch me everytime. What can I do? He's just irresistible.
