One Shot

You walk into your best friends house without knocking and see him asleep on the sofa.

With a wicked grin, you silently grab a green towel from his kitchen counter and while rolling it thinly, you creep towards him.

When you finally stand over him, you noted that he looked so serene and peaceful. It was almost a shame that you were going to ruin that in a couple of seconds and even though your eyes softened, you drape the towel on his stomach, making it touch his arms slightly.

You nod acceptingly and then get into position, pulling out your phone and schooling your expression into one of horror.

"OH MY GOD! HOBI! T-THERES A FUCKING SNAKE ON YOU! HOLY SHIT!" you scream, pointing your fingers at his chest.

The sleeping Hobi jerks awake and sluggishly tries to process what you said. "W-ha?" he says, voice husky from his nap.

In his sleepy state, he couldn't really distinguish the difference between a scaly creature and a dishrag. But in his defense -as he argued later- they were both green, so obviously anyone would make that mistake.

When he sees the rolled up towel draped over him, the reaction was instantaneous.

Chim jumps in his chair, startled, and quickly turns to the equally shocked Taehyung who looked up from his laptop.

"Did you hear?..." he asks hesitantly and Tae slowly nods while looking around the area fearfully.

"G-ghost?" he whispers and the two gulp nervously wondering what the high pitched noise -that sounded like someone was getting murdered- was.

You were almost in tears and your entire body was shaking in mirth as you hit the end button on your video.

Hobi was lying on the floor, flailing around and still screeching. He finally gets on his kneels and scrambles as far away from sofa as he could but his head kept shifting to different areas in the room in search for the reptile.

You gasp, unable to pull yourself together and Hobi slowly comprehends what happened. He glares at you with a look of promised pain.

"Y/N...." he growls and you freeze at the threatening tone of his voice.

"You're so fucking dead!" he screams and tackles you.

He bloody tackled you.

Not lightly mind you, but the same full contact tackle you would see in Rugby games.

Your back lands on the floor and you hiss in pain. "Hobi! What the hell! That was so uncalled for!" you scream and he only looks at you smugly while dusting his hands off.

"You should've thought about that before waking me up from my nap like a retard. Who the hell even does that?" he asks with a scowl.

You stick your tongue out. "You're turning into Yoongi you lazy shit! And maybe you shouldn't have been sleeping out in the open like that. Anyone would have done the same!" you shout back and he sneers at you.

"Don't break in my house then!" he screams.

"Don't make it easy for me to break in then!" you scream back without missing a beat.

The two of you glare at each other and you could have sworn there was electricity shooting out from both your eyes from the intensity of your glares.

His lips twitch.

Your nose flares.

And then all of a sudden the two of you were laughing like there was no tomorrow.

There was no point in questioning the two of your relationship; it was practically impossible to put a title to something neither of you could understand either.

The two of you calmed down eventually and settled in the kitchen for a bit. You sat on the counter, swinging your legs cheerfully and he gives you an unamused look while taking a bite from his apple.

"So..." he starts off and glances at his watch.

"...why the hell are you here at 11pm at night?" he asks and you give him a look.

"More like what are you doing taking a nap until 11..." you mumble and he huffs, mocking you under his breath and so you kick his shin.

He proceeded to spit an apple seed at your face and your hand slowly wipes off the residue on your cheek.

"Real mature Hobi" you mutter and he smirks, taking a huge bow.

You laugh at his childishness. "Anyways, I was bored." you say simply and he chokes on his apple. "What?..." he asks in disbelief and you shoot him a weird look.

"I said, I...was....bored...." you say slowly and exaggeratedly enunciate the words as if speaking to a child. He reaches over and flicks you on the cheek making you smack his hand.

"No you Dumbo, I heard you perfectly fine...why didn't you go bother Tae or Kook or someone else" he points out while tousling his messy hair.

You pout while avoiding any eye contact.

It wasn't like you could have told him about the teensy crush you had on him for years now.

It just couldn't be helped though. Hobi was as oblivious as a rock and even if you told him in straight up that you were in love with him, he wouldn't get it.

In fact, you already did once before.

"Hobi?" you ask with a hint of nervousness

"Hmm?" he says, fixing his glasses on his face while waiting for your next words expectantly.

You had no patience or tact so you blurted the words out lamely. "...I like you" you whisper and tense, waiting for his reaction.

You don't hear him say anything so you turn to him and see him give you a naive look while still waiting so you slowly repeat your words and he nods.

"Yeah? Okay? I like you too?" he says obviously and you groan, he had no idea that your 'like' and his was completely different.

"Right. Yup okay." you awkwardly reply and go back to the book you were reading, pulling it up close to your face to cover up your embarrassed blush.

You missed the devilish look on his face.

He nudged you, still waiting for an explanation and you snap out of your flashback. "Oh. uh. They were busy..." you lie and he shrugs, completely buying it.

"Alright, what should we do then?" he says with a bright grin and threw his arms around your shoulder. You looked wistfully outside his patio, noting the beautiful night and his serene pool that was lit up by the stars above it.

"Let's go outside?" you offer, not taking your eyes off the pool and his gaze follows yours slowly.

His lips tilted upwards in amusement. "Alright..." he whispers and the two of you head out.

You take a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air and enjoying the cool breeze on your shirt. Hobi plugs his phone in the speakers and puts his playlist on shuffle before sitting on the patio chair with his arms behind his head comfortably.

You smile giddily and slip off your socks, throwing them onto the table before running towards his small pool and dipping your foot in tentatively to test the temperature.

Your smile widened when you felt the lukewarm water seep in between your toes and you sit down on the edge, kicking your feet happily. Hobi sighs contentedly, watching your back from the lounge chair and his lips twitch unconsciously as he tried to push back his smile.

Sometimes he wondered how the fiery little monkey you usually were, could turn into a goddess in a matter of seconds. He glanced up at the sky that glittered like diamonds and huffed in amusement.

"It's definitely the moon doing its work..." he thought jokingly while bobbing his head to the beat of the music.

Hobi chuckles amusedly as he recalled your uncouth confession a while back and wondered when he should finally put you out of your misery and admit that he liked you as well, if not, longer than you have.

"Hope!" you shout, making him raise his brows and cutting him off of his thoughts. You wave him over and patted the spot next to you. "Come here! The water is really nice!" you say with a grin and he laughs but stood to acquiesce to your command.

He stopped for a second and then decided that maybe tonight was time to finally test the waters once more and actually tell you that your love was and has never been unrequited.

So in one swift motion, he tugged his shirt over his head and draped it over the chair.

Your mind goes blank and your smile drops when you see Hobi's lean muscles that flexed as he pulled his shirt off. Now barechested and in his jeans that were draped scandalously low around his waist, you swallow dryly. All the hours of dancing definitely paid off because you didn't see an ounce of fat on him.

The moonlight made him glow ethereally and only served to heighten his muscular frame. He started unbuckling his pants and that's when you snap out of your musing.

"W-w-what are you doing!!" you hiss and shut your eyes, hearing him laugh loudly at your reaction. You hear the sound of his pants drop onto the floor with a thud and forced yourself not to take a peek, no matter how tempted you were.

"Loosen up Y/N, the water looks amazing" he says, his voice getting louder the closer he got to you.

You scoff, eyes still shut tightly. "You're going swimming now?" you ask disbelievingly and hear him speak up from right behind you.

"Nope" he says and you frown.

"Then why did you undress?..." you point out bewilderedly but then feel his warm breath on your ear.

"Because..." he whispers slowly and you shiver from how close he was. You could almost feel the warmth radiating from his body.

"...'we're' going swimming" he finishes matter-of-factly and you scrunch your nose in confusion.

Suddenly your eyes pop open in realization as you scrambled to stand up.

"Hobi! No! Wait I-" you shout and try to quickly move away but you were too late. He had a firm grip around your waist and effortlessly lifted you up bridal style.

You face him in panic while flailing futilely. "Hobi dont! I don't want to get wet!" you screech and he shoots you a questioning look.

"I never said you had a choice though?" he points out.

And then he jumped.

You scream loudly before hearing a splash and feeling the rush of water soak your entire body as your head submerged completely.

You quickly swim to surface and sputter in indignation while raking your fingers through your wet hair with a scowl.

"JUNG HOSEOK" you growl and he pouts cutely at you while pulling you close to him. You sneer at him and push him away making him laugh amusedly.

"Aw come on Y/N it's a beautiful night! There's no time to be angry" he says while pinching your cheeks and you pinch his arms in rebuttal.

"I'm in all my clothes you idiot! I won't have anything to wear later" you hiss and he only smirks at you.

"Then take it off now so it can dry" he simply says and you look at him as if he was crazy, making him crack up even more.

"See? I already knew you wouldn't have anyways so I did us both a favor and pushed you in. You can borrow my hoodie later..." he starts off and your eyes narrow but he didn't see your expression change to one of challenge as he continued.

"...my shy little Y/N would never do anything as scandalous as skinny dipp-" he says cockily and in one move you take your shirt off and slide out of your shorts, throwing both items on the edge of the pool.

Hobi freezes, all thoughts flying out his head as he just realized that you not only proved him wrong, but were now in the pool only in your matching set of lingerie.

He couldn't bring himself to keep up his cocky front as his thoughts went haywire. A flush rises on his cheeks but thankfully in the darkness, you didn't notice it at all.

You cross your arms around your chest and shoot him a glare. "...so what were you saying?" you ask haughtily and he gulps, trying his best not to get distracted.

He got ready to use his best defense mechanism, as he always did whenever placed under a scenario where he was tempted to discard any sense of logic: endless amount of teasing.

His hand slaps the water and splashed a huge load of water at your face, making you sputter while wiping your face as he groaned, instantly regretting his actions.

He was just so flustered that he couldn't do anything right anymore and it turned out that his plan to seduce you completely backfired on him.

You scowl, wondering why you were in love with this dumbshit in the first place but then realize that it was also because of his endless amount of mischievousness that you got attracted to him in the first place.

It was a shame that he was so oblivious that he couldn't even tell that you were trying your best to get him to like you, of course, failing every time.

Maybe you were destined to be in the friendzone forever.

"Oh well...what have I got to lose at this point anyways if I tell him again" you think with a shrug. It's not like he would believe you anyways, you thought as you laughed to yourself.

With a burst of spontaneity you swim towards the doe-eyed Hobi.

"Hobi" you say with a determined look on your face. You see him raise his brow in surprise at your close proximity and gulp loudly.

"Yeah?..." he mumbles not trusting himself to be able to look your way and stay composed so you narrow your eyes and grab his face, turning it your way.
He freezes so you take advantage of the moment.

"I love you" you blurt out, still glaring at him.

He blinks at you

Once

Twice

...and then they go wide.

His mouth opens and closes but he was thrown off guard and you nod understandingly, mistaking his silence for another sign of obliviousness.

"Alright. Definitely a rock..." you mutter under your breath and casually let go before swimming back to your side.

Hobi smacks himself. This was literally the moment he had been waiting for and he blew it by acting like a fucking fish. He grabbed your hand before you got too far and you turn, looking at him strangely.

"Do you think you co-" you speak but he cuts you off.

"I know" he says and you stay still.

"What?" you ask, not understanding what he meant. He pulled you his way again and pressed you up close to him.

He groaned and ruffled his hair. "I know you love me...I've known for a while already...but I loved you first" he admits seriously and you pause as his words sink in.

"W-wait...so you're telling me the day I confessed..." you whisper and he nods

"I knew. I knew everything. I couldn't help it though...you extremely cute to tease so I pretended like I had no idea and it kind of just kept going from there..." he answers back sheepishly and your jaw drops.

"You...you had me thinking I was friend-zoned!" you shout admonishingly and he flashes you a smile.

"Welllllll actually..." he starts off and you glare at him while growling, making him shut up.

"I-I can't believe you! All this time I had to make up excuses to come see you and you just sat there like a smug ass motherfu-" you rant but he silences you by pressing his lips softly against yours.

Your breath hitches but you kiss him back automatically as his hands tightened around your waist. Your legs wrapped around his waist and you draped your arms around his neck and he smiled into your lips.

But before it got too heated, you quickly pulled away and he smugly looked at your embarrassed face with a chuckle.

Without thinking you dunked his head underwater and swam off with a scowl, not forgetting the fact that he tricked you this entire time.

"WHAT?" you shout facing Hobi who was still pouting. His hair was almost dry now and he was still shirtless which was why you were trying hard not to face him, because you couldn't hold onto your anger while he was sitting there looking like the statue of David.

He shuffles your way guiltily and scoops you into a huge hug and you scowl from under his hoodie that you were wearing.

"Don-" you snarl.

"I love you" he cuts you off and his tone had your entire body tingling and you tensed stiffly but then you sigh.

He kissed your cheeks and you finally relax into his arms, feeling your anger dwindle down.

"Stupid Hobi..." you mumble and he kisses you once more in agreement.

This is actually funny because two friends of mine both liked each other but couldn't accept the fact that the other would actually like them and so they went through this cycle of continuously denying their attraction for each other.

One day we got fed up and literally just spelt it out for them and they finally dated.

It kind of inspired me to write this 😋
