One Shot

You unwrap the plastic covering of your 6th lollipop today as the man beside you gives you a judgmental look. Ignoring it, you place the grape flavored sucker in between your teeth and shoot him a 'peace' sign.

"Dude...I'm pretty sure your blood is actually syrup now with how much sugar you've been putting in you..." He states in disdain.

You flip him off.

"Shut up Chimchim. You're just jealous because I won't share any of them with you...and besides...these are organic" you retort playfully as you jump on his back.

He grunts in surprise at your move, but quickly grabs onto your thighs to keep you in place.

"Jesus! Give a guy a warning next time, Dummy" he mutters and you slap his chest, making him head butt you in rebuttal.

This was the type of friendship the two of you had. At this point, it was pretty much a miracle that neither one of you had sustained any major injuries in the years that you knew each other.

That is, if you could exclude the fractured jaw you accidentally gave him; and as Jimin would so nicely like to remind you every so often, the broken tooth he once gave you.

But those are stories for another day.

"야 바보오빠 우리가 어디로 갈거야? (Ya 'stupid oppa' where are we going?)" you ask curiously but he ignores you.

"바보 (stupid)" you ask again but he continues ignoring you so you repeatedly poke his cheek. "바보! 뚱! 애기침- (Stupid! Chubs! Baby Chim-)"

You shriek, cutting yourself off, when he drops you unceremoniously on the grass. He laughs without restraint at your shocked expression and you ignore the flutter of butterflies that settle in your stomach because of his smile. You clear your throat purposefully and then shoot him a halfhearted glare.

Eventually he stops laughing and tells you his plan. "We're going to find a claw machine" he says straightforwardly and you raise your brows. "Claw machine? Why do you want a stuff toy?" You ask curiously but you wish you didn't when he responds.

"You're going to help me win something for my crush! That's what best friends are for right?" He says smiling brightly as he nudges you teasingly and you grimace slightly before pulling up a smile.

"Haha...yeah...that's what best friends are for" you mumble back as he grabs your hand to pull you off the ground.

"Chiiiim. It's been such a long time already! How come you still won't tell me who she is?" You ask childishly while pulling his arms. You pretend like none of it affected you at all but you knew better.

At least you'd know who he had his heart out for...

He huffs amusedly but doesn't respond so your eyes widen. "Ah! Is it because I know her?..." you ask cautiously and he pauses slightly, something you noticed.

"I'm right! I do know her!" You exclaim and he sighs before nodding. "Yeah you do...I didn't want to tell you because you might act differently around her. Or she might not want to be around me anymore if you told her so I never wanted to risk it" he mutters and you gasp.

"Park Jimin! You know I can keep a secret!" You gasp in mock offense. He chuckles lightly before flicking you between your brows. "Yeah, I know you can. But you can't hide anything in your expressions. That's how Hobi Hyung found out about his surprise party remember Dummy?" he retorts and you laugh awkwardly.

Oh yeah.

You brush it off though. "Stillllll! I promise I can keep this one a secret. I swear on all my lollipops!" You offer as you begin to unwrap another treat.

He gasps dramatically "Not the lollipops!" He responds sarcastically and you scowl at him.

"Psh. Fine. Do what you want, keep it a secret..." you retort petulantly, hoping it would guilt trip him into answering.

Of course it didn't.

"...I'm pretty sure you're actually in love with Kook and that's why you're not telling me..." you add on under your breath and quickly start running when he growls at your teasing statement.

"GET BACK HERE DUMMY!" He shouts, running after you in vengeance.

Finally you guys arrive at the claw machine zone that usually had all the easy stuffed toys to win.

...and it's not like the 7 plushies that were sitting on your shelf back at home was the reason why you knew that. Nope. Not at all.

Okay...so maybe you had a soft spot for these dolls but you couldn't help it, the machines would always taunt you as you passed by them to get home. One thing led to another and you ended up winning more than you needed.

Except the one plushie that you wanted, which your eye zones in on almost immediately after you two walk in: 메밀군 (Mr. Buckwheat), the stuff toy from 도깨비 (Goblin).

Your stare was so sharp that Jimin nervously glanced between the both of you.

"야...Dummy...cut it out...your face is going to scare the kids..." he says quietly and you bare your teeth at him, making him quickly take his words back.

"아...무서워...(ah...scary...)" he mumbles and luckily for him, you didn't hear that.

He brightens up and with a look of determination he heads to the nearest machine filled with different Pokémon stuff toys. "Y/N! Come here I need you to stand on the side and tell me if my angle is right!" He shouts and you sigh before moving into place.

He sticks his tongue out in concentration as he moved the claw on the Squirtle that he was aiming for. You wave your hand backwards and he moves the claw accordingly.

The claw descends after the time ran out and to grab it and the two of you jump in excitement as it neared the edge of the hole. But right before it went in, the machine dropped it.

"WHAT! NOO. That's bullshit! This game is so rigged!!" He shouts while shoving the machine and then going on to ramble about how staged the game was.

You snort at his reaction, moving to another machine and then putting in 천원(1000₩) to make the game start.

With almost little effort you move the claw to the plush nearest to the hole and start strategically swinging it in circles. It pushes the toy on the edge of the hole, hanging off by a thread and then you smirk as you position the claw on top of the hole.

When it drops down, it pulls the toy over the edge and into the slot. You pick it up triumphantly and Chim only watches with his mouth open.

You had successfully gotten the Kumamon doll.

"I'm giving this to Yoongi Oppa!" You say with a laugh. Chim, still shocked at your display of skill, doesn't respond and only after you throw the stuff toy to his face does he react.

"...you're not human" he mumbles with a foreboding shiver and then quickly moves to the next machine.

He must have realized that you found 메밀군 (Mr. Buckwheat) the most desirable earlier, because he ended up at the machine that held them.

"Chim don't bother with that one. It's virtually impossible to get" you mumble grumpily and he pauses. "Do all girls like this doll?" He asks curiously and you think about that for a second.

"I mean I guess so...but I think it's mostly about the meaning behind it...it's like the toy symbolizes that anyone can have a love like 김신(Kim Shin) and 지은탁 (Ji Eun Tak)" you explain and then sigh wistfully.

He ponders on your words for another moment and then makes an attempt at the doll. You protest once more but he ignores you and so you give up and watch him silently.

Just like you said, he wasn't able to get the toy, even after almost 7 attempts.

You glance at the time on your phone. "Chim...come on. It's getting late...you can get her another doll next time okay?" You plead and he opens his mouth to refuse but when he sees the desperate look in your eyes, he sighs.

"...alright. Alright..." he finally gives in.

You see his mood go down drastically and you can't help but feel jealous.

"Damn Chim. This girl must really be special if you'd spend almost the whole day trying to win her a stuff toy..." you point out and he sends you a sheepish smile.

A thought passes through you so you voice it out. "...wait. How were you going to give it to her? Were you going to hand it to her in person and confess??" You ask with a gasp and then coo. "Awww. That would be so romantic!" You continue teasingly and he shoves you half heartedly.

"No way!...I was...I was actually going to leave it on her bed for her to find it..." he mumbles and your jaw drops in surprise, not expecting that at all.

"Damn Chim... You really are a romantic..." you mumble and he blushes cutely but doesn't respond.

"You think she would've known it was from you though?" You ask doubtfully.

He seems to think about that. "Well...even if she didn't, it doesn't matter. At least she'd know that someone would love her as much as Gong Yoo. Right?" He responds cheekily and you laugh.

"Yeah. I guess you're right" you reply back with a small smile.

With those last words, the two of you leave to go get some food.

You moan frustratedly, shaking of the rain that poured down on you. You can't believe that on the way home it just randomly started to pour.

At least it was a Friday though...Almost a week had passed since you last hung out with Chim and you were already feeling the withdrawal symptoms of not having your daily dose of Christian Chimchim.

Reaching for your phone while unwrapping an orange flavored lollipop, you think that maybe you could get him to come over for a movie night or something.

You shiver and look down. "Right...wet clothes...better change first" you think in dismay and head towards your room.

You open your door and switch on the lights but your eye catches onto something laying on your...bed...

You stare at the item in disbelief, not realizing that your lollipop dropped out of your mouth and that you were slowly inching towards your bed.

With trembling fingers you reach out for the plush toy that was waiting for you on top of your pillow.

It was 메밀군 (Mr. Buckwheat)...

You take in a shaky breath, still in shock and maybe a little bit in denial too.

When you realize how cheeky your damn Chim was being the whole time, you break out into a watery laugh and quickly redial his number.

The two of you had a lot to talk about.
