Right now, the team is in the mission room. Kaldur and Wally are playing holographic air hockey. Wally makes a goal, much to Kaldur's surprise, and takes a bite of his banana.

"Recognized: Superboy, B04."

From the tunnel appears Superboy.

"Hi, Superboy," Megan greets. "How was Metropolis?"

He walks right through the middle of them without a word and a frown on his face, the hologram dispersing.

A voice is cleared behind them. "Ready for training, everyone?"

They turn around to look at the new arrivals.

"Black Canary! Uncle J'onn!" Megan squeals and rushes over to give him a hug.

"M'gann, I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I'd see how you were adjusting," Martian Manhunter says.

"A few bumps, but I'm learning."

"That's all I can ask."

Superboy turns around to leave, and Spook catches on to his glum behavior.

"Stick around. Class is in session," Black Canary says, moving to the center of the large platform. A white light forms underneath her, and it spreads across the platform. "I consider it an honor to be your teacher. I'll throw a lot at you. Everything I've learned from my own mentors-" She grimaces in pain. "-and my own bruises."

"What happened?" Megan asks concerned.

"The job," she replies. "Now, combat is about controlling conflict, putting the battle on your terms. You should always be acting, never reacting. I'll need a sparring partner."

KF's hand immediately shoots up. "Right here. Yeah!" He walks up to her and finishes his banana. "After this-- Swish-- I'll show you my moves." Black Canary smirks in response and immediately makes him fall on his back. "Aah! Uh! Ohh... Hurts so good..."

"Good block," she praises. "But did anyone see what he did wrong?"

"Ooh, ooh," Robin says cheerfully and raises his hand. "He hit on teacher and got served?"

Spook and Phantom burst out laughing.

"Dude!" KF shouts.

"He allowed me to dictate the terms of–"

"Oh, please," Superboy scoffs, interrupting BC. "With my powers, the battle's always on my terms. I'm a living weapon, and this is a waste of my time."

"Prove it."

Superboy and Black Canary head against each other, KF backs away, and Superboy easily gets thrown to the floor. Robin and Phantom begin to giggle.

"You're angry. Good, but don't react. Channel that anger into–"

Superboy gets back up and leaps toward her, but she quickly has him back on the floor in no time. Robin and Phantom continue to giggle.

"That's it," Superboy fusses. "I'm done."

"Training is mandatory."

A beep resounds through the area and a holographic screen appears in the room.

"Batman to the cave." Batman's face appears on the screen. "Five hours ago, a new menace attacked Green Arrow and Black Canary. The attacker was capable of studying, then duplicating the powers and abilities of its opponents. Arrow called in reinforcements, which nearly proved disastrous as our foe gained more and more power with each new combatant."

"Whoa," KF says. "One guy with the powers of the entire League?"

"In the end, it took 8 leaguers four hours to defeat and dismantle the android," Batman continues.

"An android? W-who made it, T. O. Morrow?" Robin asks.

"Good guess, Robin, but Red Tornado doesn't think so," Batman says.

"The technology bears the signature of Professor Ivo," Martian Manhunter says.

"Ivo? But Ivo's dead," Kaldur says.

"So we all thought or hoped," Black Canary says.

"To make certain this threat is permanently neutralized, we're sending two trucks carrying the android's parts to two separate Star Lab facilities in Boston and New York for immediate evaluation. Every precaution is being taken. We'll have 4 additional decoy trucks to create confusion in case Ivo or anyone tries to recover the remains. You will split into undercover teams to safeguard the two real trucks."

"Yes! Road trip," KF cheers.

"So now we take out your trash?" Superboy scoffs.

"You had something better to do?" Batman replies.

"Coordinates received," Kaldur says. "On our way."

The team heads toward the garage, and Spook hangs by Superboy.

"When you're ready, I'll be here," Black Canary says after grabbing Superboy's arm to stop him.

He gives her an unsure expression before he turns around to walk with Spook.

"Don't think I didn't see that," Spook comments.

"See what?" Superboy asks.

"The look you made after seeing Megan and Martian Manhunter doing their family thing," Spook says. "I don't wanna bring up the topic–"

"Then don't," he huffs.

"You need to talk about it eventually," Spook says.

"Not now," he growls.

Spook nods. "After the mission."

~~~8:08pm~~~

Spook and Phantom watch from their black and purple motorcycles as the semi trucks get loaded up with the android parts. The team is all dressed in civilian clothes, and Robin is wearing sunglasses. The semis move out, and Spook goes with Robin and Superboy. Phantom goes with Miss Martian, Aqualad, and Kid Flash.

"If dislike is the opposite of like, is disaster the opposite of aster? See, instead of things going wrong, they go right," Robin says and Superboy ignores him. "Uh, clearly you're not feeling the aster. What's wrong?"

"Canary," Superboy responds. "And what business does she have teaching combat skills to a guy with super strength?"

"Taking down stronger guys is part of the gig," Robin answers. "Canary learned that the hard way. Same with Batman and, well, me."

Superboy revs the engine and speeds off in front of Spook and Robin. Suddenly the truck in front of them gets covered by green and black robotic monkeys.

"Robin, Superboy, Spook, our truck is under attack!" Kaldur's voice shouts through our earpieces.

"Kind of figured," Robin responds back.

"I hate monkeys," Superboy growls.

The truck begins to swerve all over the road.

"Robot monkeys! Ha ha! Totally Ivo's tweaked style," Robin says and switches his bike to battle mode. Spook follows his lead. "Hey, hey. Superboy, switch your ride to battle mode."

"No point," Superboy growls and jumps off his bike onto the truck.

"Or not!" Robin shouts as Spook and him move to swerve out of the way of Superboy's bike. The Boy Wonder jumps off his bike and uses a magnetic weapon to pull himself to the truck.

Spook manages to swerve out of the way but quickly has to fly off because monkeys took over the bike. She watches as Superboy gets zapped in the eyes then taken into the air and dropped. She flies over to catch him. He shakes himself from her grip, shoves her away, and leaps back to the truck.

"Oh, Superboy..." Spook says, flying after him.

Spook blasts off all the monkeys on the sides of the vehicle. Robin arrives on top and takes out the monkeys on top. Superboy lands on the truck, knocking off whatever monkeys were left then many more monkeys appear and attach to him. A pop is heard and the truck begins to swerve all over the place, meaning the monkeys popped the tires. Robin helps the driver out of the truck and Spook takes out the two in the inside, phasing them through the truck. Robin and Spook watch as the truck flips down the road and explodes with Superboy still on it. The truck lands on Superboy, and he shoves it off, now angry. He watches as the monkeys fly off with the cargo. He grunts and jumps off after them.

"Superboy!" Spook shouts.

"Aqualad to Robin," Aqualad's voice rings through our earpieces. "We've lost our cargo. Did you–"

"It's gone and so is Superboy," Robin sighs.

"Aqualad to Superboy. Radio your position. We'll help you."

"I don't need help, don't want any!"

"Superboy?" Kaldur's voice comes through.

"I think he ditched his comp," Spook admits.

"Super. Now we can't even track him," Phantom complains.

"He's out of my telepathic range. This Professor Ivo, if he is alive, seems to be two steps ahead of us. M-maybe w-we should contact Red Tornado?" Miss M suggests.

"Tornado always tells us to handle things ourselves," Kaldur says. "And the mission can still succeed if we recover the parts before they're reassembled."

"Well, that's a great plan, except for the part about us not knowing where to look!" KF shouts.

"Maybe we do," Robin says. "We'd have heard by now if the decoy trucks had been attacked. "So how did these monkeys know exactly which trucks to target?"

"Maybe because we were following the trucks?" Phantom suggests.

"Ha! The parts have gps. The monkeys can track the signal, which means I can track them with the one I captured. It looks like both sets of parts are converging on... Gotham city."

"That far south? M'gann and I won't get there anytime soon. I'm sending Phantom and Kid on ahead to meet you. Aqualad out."

Robin presses a button on his wrist computer, calling his bike to them. "Definitely a disaster, heavy on the dis." The bike pulls up next to them. "We should change into our hero costumes."

Spook rips off the clothes covering her uniform and deposits them on the ground. "Finished."

"As am I."

"That was fast," Spook comments.

"I always wear my uniform underneath my clothes."

"Me too!" Spook chuckles. "Not like I can take it off in the first place."

"I have so many questions, but now's not the time. So, let's go." He hops on the bike, and they take off toward Gotham. Eventually, KF and Phantom show up right when they pass Gotham city limits.

"Hello, beautiful," KF flirts.

"Yo," Robin replies.

"I wasn't talking to you, Rob."

"I know," Robin scoffs. "I'm not beautiful, I'm sexy."

"Whatever," KF says with an eye roll.

"So you changed, too?" Robin asks, talking about the uniforms.

"You kidding? Ughh. I feel naked in civvies. You still tracking the parts?" KF asks.

"They were heading through Gotham, but they veered," Robin says. "Wait... Dude, they're at my school."

They speed up, and KF manages to snag Superboy away from being pummeled. Robin throws his birdarangs, but the android turns intangible and passes right through them.

"Access Red Tornado." Everyone gets swirled up in the tornado. "Access Captain Atom." The android aims for KF who manages to run away before getting blasted. "Access Black Canary."

KF flies into the air, and Spook catches him before he hits the ground. "Thanks, babe."

She sets him down as Superboy gets thrown into the bleachers.

"Martian Manhunter." Robin throws more birdarangs, and the android uses his arm as a whip and smacks them away. KF runs up to punch it, but it pulls him into a death grip. "Superman."

"Aah!" KF screams in pain.

Phantom and Spook blast a powerful ectobeam at the android. It drops KF as it seemingly looks like it got hurt from the blast.

"Martian Manhunter."

It goes intangible, and a green arrow flies straight through its head. Spook turns to the area where she saw the arrow to see nothing. Weird...

"Superman." It's eyes light up and shoots lasers at Robin, but KF manages to save him in time, and Phantom catches them before they tumble.

Spook suddenly gets an idea, after spotting Professor Ivo. "Phantom! Puppet Master!"

"Good idea!" Phantom responds and follows her lead.

"Wait, what does that mean?!" Robin shouts.

They both turn invisible and phase through the bleachers that Ivo is sitting at. "The real goal is to make a few bruises on the master." They appear next to him with grins.

"Access Black Canary."

Ivo screams upon seeing the ghosts. "Amazo, protect your master! Priority alpha."

"Anyone want to play keep-away?" Robin asks while Phantom and Spook chase after Ivo.

"Me, me!" KF shouts.

"Martian Manhunter." To dodge Robin's birdarangs then Superboy punches through Amazo's head. "Superman." That makes it tangible again and causes its head to explode.

Robin runs over to the android. "Help me disassemble him now!"

"Dude, the guy has no head," KF comments.

Phantom binds Ivo with some nearby rope, lifting him over his shoulder and bringing him to the group of heroes.

"Don't take any chances," Aqualad shouts, running into the gym with Megan flying behind.

Megan flies right up to Superboy. "Superboy, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, feeling the aster," Superboy says.

Megan then turns to Phantom and asks the same question.

"I'm fine," he says with a smile. Phantom shoves Ivo to the ground at Aqualad's feet. "Here you go."

"Good job, Phantom," Aqualad says with a grateful smile. "Without you, he would've gotten away."

"I'm glad I could be of assistance," he says, as Superboy lifts Ivo off the ground.

"You can't just say something and not inform the rest of the team," Wally says, looking to the twins. "We don't know your secret codes."

"Sorry about that..." Spook murmurs.

They send Ivo to where he belongs before returning to the cave to report the mission. There to greet them are Batman, Red Tornado, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, and Green Arrow.

"The Amazo Android is in pieces again safely being analyzed at the two separate Star Labs," Kaldur says. "We captured Ivo and sent him to Belle Reve."

"We understand that your mission received other complications," Martian Manhunter scolds.

Everyone looks over at Superboy and the ghost twins.

"Complications come with the job," Batman says. "Your ability to handle them has impressed the league."

"The whole league?" Superboy asks, everyone knowing he's talking about Superman.

"Given time, yes," Batman responds. "Kryptonians, as you know, have very hard heads." Superboy and Spook both smirk at that. "Of course, there's no shame in asking for help."

"Funny coming from you..." Robin whispers. Spook and Phantom chuckle under their breaths.

"That's why the league exists, because there are some problems even we can't handle individually."

"Please," Robin scoffs. "If we needed help, we'd never get the chance to ask. Look familiar?" He pulls out the green arrow from before and hands it to Batman who hands it to Green Arrow. "You were following us! Babysitting! You still don't trust us!"

"We didn't follow you," Batman admits.

Green Arrow pulls one of his arrows out to compare to see that they are obviously different.

"And that's not your arrow, but that means–" Robin says.

"Speedy!" Wally shouts.

"He has our backs," Kaldur says.

"Who's Speedy?" the twins ask.

Wally grabs the arrow from Green Arrow's hand. "Souvenir!"

"Speedy was Green Arrow's protégé," Megan tells them the rest of the story.

"Ah," they say.

"Ahem," Superboy clears his throat for Black Canary. "I'm ready."

"Good because I'm here," she responds.

Everyone who doesn't live at the cave leaves, leaving the four residents with the cave all for themselves. Phantom and Megan head off to bed. Spook is in the kitchen searching for something to eat while Superboy is sitting in the living room in silence. Spook eventually finds two bags of chips and brings them with her to the living room.

"Think fast," she calls out, tossing the bag of chips at Superboy. It ends up smacking him in the face as he's too distracted to realize it coming. "Oops, sorry... Heheh... Superboy?"

"Yeah? Uh, sorry. Lost in thought."

She opens the small bag of chips, pulling one out and taking a bite. "About Superman?" she slurs.

"How–?"

"Not like it's not obvious," Spook admits, finishing chewing. "You want Superman to treat you as his son. For him to love you like his son. You want the love you deserve."

"Why do you care so much?" he asks.

"I'm going to help Superman realize what he's doing wrong," Spook says. "I will have him recognize you as his son."

"Why?"

"Why?" Spook questions. "That's a good question. I do it because I like you, Superboy. You remind me a lot of me when I first started out. I had no one but I did at the same time. The time came for me and it will for you. You just have to be a little patient."

He sighs then gives her a smile. "T-thanks..."

"You're welcome. Now, finish your chips and let's head to our rooms to sleep."
