JYPE and Yuehua Slam the Brakes on Joon and Yena Dating Rumours: Idols Issue Statements!

The K-pop world was set alight this past month when rumours suggesting a romantic relationship between Stray Kids' Joon and solo artist Yena began circulating online. Fuelled by speculative interpretations of an interaction at an award show, the rumours quickly gained traction. However both JYP and Yuehhua Entertainment have now officially denied the allegations, releasing statements emphasising the lack of truth behind the claims.

The response from both agencies highlight the intense pressure faced by idols in the public eye and the seriousness of how rumours could potentially impact their artists' careers.

JYP Entertainment's Official Statement:

JYP Entertainment was the first to address the swirling rumours. Their statement, released on Stray Kids' official fan cafe, was firm and unambiguous.

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

We are writing to address the recent rumours circulating regarding Stray Kids' Joon. After investigating the matter, we can confirm that the alleging a romantic relationship with artist Yena are completely false.

Joon and Yena are close friends in and outside the industry and have a professional relationship. The interpretation and speculations currently circulating online are unfounded and misrepresent the nature of their interaction.

We kindly request that fans refrain from spreading or believing in unsubstantiated rumours that can cause harm to about artists. JYP Entertainment will continue to take all necessary measures to protect the privacy and reputation of our artists.

Thank you for your continued support of Stray Kids."

The statement's directness aimed to shut down the speculation immediately and protect Joon from any potential negative repercussions. The emphasis on the artists "Joon and Yena are close friends in and outside the industry " and the request to refrain from spreading rumours were crucial in minimising further damage.

Yuehua Entertainment's Official Statement:

Shortly after JYPE's announcement, Yuehua Entertainment released a similar statement through Yena's official social media channels.

"Hello, this is Yuehua Entertainment.

We are addressing the recent rumours surrounding our artist, Yena. We have confirmed with Yena herself that the claims of a romantic relationship with Stray Kids' Joon are false.

Yena and Joon are close friends who rarely have the chance to interact outside of work. The rumours circulating online are purely speculative and have no basis in reality.

We request that you respect Yena's privacy and refrain from spreading false information. Yuehua Entertainment remains committed to protecting our artists from malicious rumours and will take legal action if necessary.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Yena."

Yuehua's statement mirrored JYPE's approach in its decisive denial and protection of its artists. The added threat of potential legal action reinforces the company's commitment to defending Yena's reputation.

Statements from Joon and Yena:

Following the agency statements, both Joon and Yena addressed the rumours directly on their respective fan platforms, further emphasising the lack of truth to the claims.

Joon's Statement:

"Hi, Stay, it's Joon. I wanted to address the recent rumours directly. I understand that these kinds of things can be concerning, and i want to be clear with you all: the rumours regarding myself and Yena aren't true. We have been close friends for a while, and i respect her as both an artist and a close friend. i'm sorry if this caused any worry, and i promise to continue working hard to show you all my best self. Thank you for always supporting Stray Kids."

Joon's personal message aimed to reassure STAY and directly address their concerns. By acknowledging the worry the rumours might have caused, he displayed empathy and solidified his commitment to his fans.

Yena's Statement:

"Yena here! I know there have been a lot of rumours going around lately. I wanted to personally tell you all that the rumours about me and Joon aren't true. He's been a good friend for a while, and i admire his talent. I hope you all won't believe everything you see online and will continue to support the both of us. Thank you to all my fans who always have my back."

Yena's statement echoed Joon's statement, emphasising their close bond outside of the K-pop industry and appealing to her fans to trust her word. Her request to not believe everything online highlights the pervasiveness of misinformation and the importance of critical thinking.
