December 24th 2002

It was a dark and stormy night in Malibu, California. Happy lived with Tony since he didn't have anwhere to go basically. So of course, Tony had a one night stand and got the said girl pregnant. Of course.

Tony was so drunk he didn't know he had a house and or who Happy was. He probably could have died of how much alcohol he ingested. He crashed onto the ground passed out..

They there was a knock on the door, curiously both Happy and Pepper walked to the door. Then Pepper opened the door and they saw people in suits.

It only meant one thing to the two sober adults in the room. Child Protection Services.

There was four of them, three male and one female, Happy and Pepper swallowed their breath as they're bracing themselves for what comes next.

"Is Anthony Edward Stark home?" One of the males asked in a stern voice. Pepper glanced at Happy who did the same before turning to said male.

"Yes. But he's sorta in a situation. So let us deal with whatever he did." Pepper says calmly to the male as he nodded his head agreeing with her.

"Hate to ask but what is the situation?" The second male said standing next to the first male.

"He's drunk and passed out." Happy says to the second male who's name is Ryan. He and Pepper didn't know who their names were because its dark outside and now there all inside the house with a loudly snoring Tony.

"So we are aware that, uh, Mr. Stark has had countless one night stands. But do you two remember the on and off girlfriend of Candace?" Ryan asks the two as they nodded their heads at the man.

"Yes we are fully aware of that name." Pepper says staying calm as possible. Though however when Tony wakes up she's going to chew his ass out.

"Well do remember two months ago yesterday. Candace came over and the two...." Ryan concludes his statement as Happy and Pepper nod their heads.

"Yes, we know about that." Pepper says to Ryan as she glanced to the only female as she has a..... baby.

Tony what did you fucking do?!

"So in the end of it Mr. Stark has a daughter. Her mother named her Hailey Odette. She was a huge fan of the Swan Lake play." Maria says as she's the only female of the CPS that's here.

Maria gently puts Hailey into Pepper's arms as the red head smiles softly at the baby girl in her arms. Pepper gently used her pointer finger to graze Hailey's cheek and she giggled liking that.

"She's beautiful." Pepper says as Happy looked at the bundle in Pepper's arms and he smiled.

Hailey looked at Happy and made grabby hands towards him as he shook his head at said baby.

"I won't." Happy says whispering to Pepper who obviously didn't listen and gave Hailey to Happy and he had his famous grim look on his face. "Really?"

Pepper nods her head as she smiles at what she got from Happy who was definitely not Happy. He was definitely going to get her for this eventually.

"Well Candace died two days ago as she got a serious illness and she didn't know she had it. So Hailey was left abandoned and tied up like an animal by her Grandmother. She was trying to kill Hailey." Maria says as Pepper put her hand over her heart at what she's hearing from this woman.

"Why did she try to kill her?" Happy asks butting into the conversation as Pepper nods her head at Happy. Maria had a sad look like she even didn't know.

"We don't know. Probably not wanting to raise her. Though it could mean a lot of things of why she wanted to do that to her." Ryan says to the two adults who are sober.

Pepper and Happy shake their heads at hearing that from Maria. They both knew that they would do everything to keep Hailey safe from evil and bad people. She probably is traumatized of everything even if she isn't crying. Hailey is acting like nothing is wrong as she is liking the attention that she's getting from Pepper and Happy.

"And so she's Tony's daughter legally and he's in his situation. Do any of you two want to take permanent custody of Hailey?" The first male who was named Ben says to the two. When Happy heard that he nodded his head.

"I'll take her." Happy says as Pepper looks at him confused. As just a minute ago he didn't want to hold her now he wants to have permanent custody of Hailey.

"But did you---" Pepper says buy Happy cuts her off she is still confused.

"I know what I said, but I just want her to be in a good home and since I have no life at the moment. I'll take her. Where can I sign the papers?"

After signing the adoption papers of Miss Hailey. Both Pepper and now Hailey left to go to a store to get what they'll need for her. As Tony showed zero sign of waking up from his drunken state any time soon. But at least he's breathing. So he's good.

So when they came back with the necessities of Hailey. They walked up to Happy's bedroom at the mansion and he put together the crib for Hailey.

Six years later

So now it's 2008 and Hailey has grown so much in the past six years. Her personality has definitely came out. She bickers with Tony a lot every time he does something stupid. Much like her father and Tony every day.

"Happy your daughter is annoying me." Tony says as he passed Happy.

"Well she's not wrong because your annoying." Happy retorted back to Tony who stopped then he got tackled by a kid.

"Get your kid off me." Tony says as Hailey plopped herself onto him clearly not leaving.

"Why, you deserve it, Tones." Was the voice of Rhodey or as Hailey calls him Rhodes.

"Rhodes." She says as she stepped onto Tony's face purposely and ran to the man who hugged her.

"Hailstorm." Rhodey says as he hugged the girl as it made Happy and Pepper smile at the girl.

Tony however wasn't happy as he got up with no help of course, and he rubbed his nose where Hailey decided to step on.
