Stars for the Smallest One
Focus: Taki + &TEAM
Vibe: Soft fluff, emotional comfort, group warmth
Themes: Homesickness, found family, gentle birthday love
Key line:
"You might not be the youngest," Fuma says, "but you've made all of us softer."
9:42 AM — Dorm Kitchen, Quiet
Taki stirred honey into his tea slower than usual.
He wasn't sad, exactly. Just... quieter. More still.
He smiled when the members passed him "happy birthday" wishes, joked with Maki when he fake-wrapped a roll of toilet paper as a gift, even managed to sass Nicholas back when he said, "Wow, you're basically ancient now."
But something was off.
And K noticed.
He always did.
He didn't push, though. Just gave Taki's shoulder a gentle squeeze before leaving the room.
Let him have space, K thought.
Then bring him home again.
12:30 PM — "Totally Normal Day"
The members were suspiciously good at pretending.
Fuma and Jo dragged Taki into a random card game tournament ("Winner gets first dibs on ramen stock!"), while Harua and Maki kept sending him chaotic selfies like, "Is this shirt cursed or cute??"
Yuma handed him a pack of his favorite snacks with no explanation and ran away.
EJ just gave him a soft head pat and said, "We've got you."
No mention of anything big.
Which was exactly the kind of small he needed.
7:03 PM — Rooftop Wishes
The sky was ink-dark when Taki was finally lured upstairs under the guise of "Hey can you help K check the laundry line?"
When he opened the door—
The rooftop glowed.
Not with neon lights or loud music.
Just soft, twinkling fairy lights, strung gently from railing to railing.
Blankets laid out. Candles in jars.
A small projector looping photos from their journey so far: rehearsals, dorm selfies, blurry backstage hugs.
And at the center, a tray of his favorite snacks.
Next to a box filled with handwritten letters.
Taki froze in the doorway.
K turned to him. "We know you didn't ask for much."
EJ stepped in beside him. "So we gave you exactly that. Just... us."
Nicholas grinned, already sitting cross-legged with frosting on his face. "And cookies. Very important."
Taki blinked. "You did all this?"
Fuma smiled. "You might not be the youngest, but you've made all of us softer."
Jo added, "And we figured the stars deserved a night to shine for you."
Taki didn't say anything for a while.
He just walked over, sat down between Yuma and Harua, and quietly began to cry.
"But like, in a very cool way," he sniffled.
7:46 PM — Letters & Laughter
Each letter was read aloud by someone else.
"To Taki," Maki read dramatically, "who somehow turned from 'the loud one' to the *loud one who makes our days better.'"
— From Harua, with doodles in the margins.
"You taught me how to make fun of people with love," Yuma said.
— From Jo, who signed it "Your #1 grumpy hyung (don't tell Nicholas)."
"You remind me to breathe," K whispered.
— His letter was shorter than the others. But said more than any of them.
EJ's note simply said:
"You don't need to try so hard to shine. We already see you."
Taki clutched it like a lifeline.
8:15 PM — Stars Above, Family Beside
They lay back in silence, heads resting against each other.
Taki between K and Fuma.
Yuma curled up with a snack bag.
Maki halfway asleep on Harua's shoulder.
Nicholas trying to balance a cookie on his nose.
No flashy birthday events. No big cameras.
Just love.
Real. Quiet. Loud in its own way.
"I didn't know I needed this," Taki whispered.
Fuma turned to him, voice low and warm.
"You never ask. But you deserve it anyway."
Taki looked at the sky, tears drying slowly on his cheeks.
"Thank you," he said.
Then immediately sat up.
"Also, Nicholas."
Nicholas blinked. "Yeah?"
"Catch."
Taki dumped a handful of glitter on him.
Nicholas screamed. "IT'S IN MY EYELASHES—"
9:00 PM — End Scene
As the night grew colder, the group slowly migrated back to the dorm, arms slung around shoulders, soft hums trailing behind.
Taki lingered just a second longer.
One last look at the lights.
One last breath of stillness.
He didn't feel homesick anymore.
Because this?
This was home.
The End.
(Because some birthdays aren't loud — they're made of stars, softness, and everything you didn't know you needed.)
