8:02 PM — Dorm, Shared Peace

Nicholas was sprawled on the living room couch, legs tangled in a blanket, laptop perched dangerously on his thighs, brows furrowed in deep concentration.

EJ, on the other hand, had just finished his shower and entered the room in sweats, a towel around his neck, and a glint in his eye that spelled trouble.

"Are you working?" EJ asked, drying his hair with the towel.

Nicholas didn't look up. "I'm writing."

EJ grinned. "Fanfic?"

"Obviously."

He stepped closer. "Which genre?"

"Fluff."

"Which pairing?"

Nicholas hesitated. "Us."

EJ smirked. "A classic."

It had been three weeks since the "Wattpad Reveal."

Since Nicholas had turned an anonymous love story into a real one — and EJ had read his feelings before Nicholas ever said them out loud.

Now, dating EJ was... comfortable. Familiar. A little terrifying.
But good.

So good.

Which is why Nicholas was trying (and failing) to write the next chapter of his fic. A domestic fluff update about late-night cuddling, shared snacks, and sleepy kisses.

You know — things they were literally doing in real life.

And that's exactly why he was struggling.

EJ flopped down next to him, peering over his shoulder.

"'His eyes softened as the city lights danced across his face...'" he read aloud, grinning. "Is this about last night when I dropped my ramen on your sock?"

Nicholas slammed the laptop shut with a squeak. "Stop reading!"

"I am your muse," EJ teased, resting his chin on Nicholas's shoulder. "This is just research."

Nicholas sighed. "You're disruptive research."

"I'm the chaos in your cozy AU," EJ said, very proud of himself.

Nicholas glared at him with all the force of a wet sponge. "I'm trying to write a soft scene where you bring me tea in bed. Why are you sabotaging it in real life?"

EJ blinked. "...I could actually do that."

8:15 PM — Tea Break (and Unnecessary Skinship)

Nicholas returned from the kitchen with two mugs of tea — one for each of them.

EJ reached out to grab his, but Nicholas hesitated.

"Wait. This is how the scene starts," Nicholas said dramatically. "Let me live it."

He slowly extended the mug with two hands. "Here, love. I made your favorite."

EJ raised an eyebrow, amused. "Thanks, darling."

"Stick to the script," Nicholas muttered.

"My bad. 'Thanks, my moon and stars.'"

Nicholas choked on air.

As EJ sipped his tea (too sweet, just the way Nicholas liked it), Nicholas finally reopened his laptop.

He cracked his knuckles and whispered, "Let the fluff commence."

Then immediately froze when EJ leaned against him, head dropping to his shoulder like it belonged there.

"Are you—"

"Comfort pose," EJ mumbled, eyes closing. "Adds to the ambiance."

"You're doing this on purpose."

"I'm helping you feel the scene."

Nicholas, pretending not to melt, typed one line:

"The warmth beside him was more distracting than any deadline." 😔

8:34 PM — Fluff Fails and Pillow Wars

Nicholas had written exactly two sentences in the last ten minutes.

Mostly because EJ kept sighing dramatically every time he typed.

"You good?" Nicholas asked.

"Just imagining how boring your fic would be if I weren't real."

Nicholas laughed. "I'm literally writing a scene where you fall asleep on my lap."

"I'd never fall asleep first."

"Lies."

"You're the clingy one," EJ said, poking his cheek.

Nicholas opened his mouth to argue—

And EJ immediately shoved a pillow in his face.

"I am the plot twist," he declared proudly.

Nicholas tackled him to the floor.

Cue fifteen minutes of chaotic laughter, flailing, and the sound of Harua in the hallway yelling:

"IF YOU GUYS BREAK THAT COUCH, YOU'RE PAYING FOR IT."

9:00 PM — Fanfic Therapy (aka Nicholas Cracks)

Somehow, they ended up back on the couch, slightly out of breath, tangled together in a mess of limbs and giggles.

Nicholas looked at his laptop again and sighed.

"I can't write fluff anymore."

EJ tilted his head. "Why not?"

"Because... it's real now," Nicholas mumbled. "It's not fantasy. It's you. And I keep worrying I'll mess it up — in the fic or in real life."

EJ sat up slightly. "Hey."

Nicholas looked at him.

"You didn't fall in love through perfect paragraphs," EJ said softly. "You fell in love between typos, and half-sentences, and ridiculous usernames."

Nicholas smiled. "TotallyNotNicholas."

EJ kissed his temple. "Exactly."

Nicholas closed the laptop and set it aside.

"I'll finish it later."

EJ curled back into his side. "Or never. And we'll just live the rest instead."

"Maybe," Nicholas whispered. "But first, I want to write one more thing."

He grabbed a post-it from the coffee table.

Wrote a few words.

Stuck it to EJ's forehead.

EJ blinked, pulled it down, and read:

"I love you. (More than snacks.) —TotallyStillNicholas"

EJ laughed, kissed him again, and said, "I love you more than tea."

Nicholas beamed. "Blasphemy, but acceptable."

9:43 PM — Fanfic Update (Real-Life Edition)

Later that night, as the rest of the dorm settled into sleep and the chaos faded to silence, Nicholas uploaded a new chapter.

Title:

"Chapter 10: When Fluff Becomes Fact"

The summary read:

He stopped writing to impress him. He started writing to remember.
And now, every moment is worth rewriting again and again.

The author note?

Dedicated to the one who keeps interrupting me — and making my story better every time. 💬💛

The End.
(Or maybe just the start of a new chapter.)
