"But you liked me first."
"Does that matter?"
"YES."

Harua was in trouble.
Not the detention kind of trouble. Not even the forgot my homework kind.
No. This was worse.
Harua knew he had a problem the moment Yuma walked into class with his usual carefree grin.
It wasn't a new problem—he'd been dealing with it for months. The way Yuma casually slung his backpack over one shoulder, the way he cracked jokes like he didn't care, the way he somehow made being late look cool. It was ridiculous.
every time Yuma laughed, stretched lazily in his seat, or flashed that ridiculously confident smirk, Harua felt his heart plummet. And worse? Harua liked him for it.
It was pathetic, really.
"I swear," Taki whispered, leaning closer, "Dude, you're staring again," elbowing him.
Harua immediately snapped his head forward. "I'm not."
"You so did," EJEJ chimed in without looking up, flipping through his notebook. "You need to confess before you explode."
Taki rolled his eyes. "You need to confess before you die."
Harua groaned, sinking into his seat. "It's not that easy."
Taki grinned. "Lucky for you, EJ and I specialize in making dumb plans."
Harua sighed. "That's exactly what I'm afraid of."
Meanwhile, across the room—
Yuma didn't do crushes.
He flirted, teased, joked around—but that was just who he was. He never got serious about this stuff.
And yet.
There was something about Harua.
Something about the way he listened. The way he always paid attention, even when Yuma was being a complete idiot.
The way he'd casually offer his notes when Yuma definitely wasn't paying attention in class.
FLASHBACK
It was a normal afternoon.
Nothing special. Nothing romantic. Just Harua sitting next to him in class, silently flipping through his notebook.
Yuma, bored out of his mind, peeked over. "Whatcha doin'?"
"Fixing my notes," Harua answered, not looking up.
Yuma tilted his head. "For what?"
Harua sighed. "For you."
Yuma blinked. "Huh?"
Harua finally turned to him, resting his chin on his palm. "You never listen in class. If you fail the next test, it'll be annoying for everyone, so I rewrote the notes so you can actually understand them."
Yuma stared.
His heart did something weird.
"Oh," he said. Then, again, slightly dumber: "Oh."
Harua rolled his eyes, shoving the notebook into Yuma's chest. "Don't waste my effort."
Yuma took it, still staring.
The way his voice was always calm, steady, but his ears turned red when he was flustered.
The realization hit him one afternoon, when Harua, without thinking, handed Yuma his favorite drink after practice.
"Here," Harua had said, barely looking up from his phone. "You like this, right?"
It was so casual.
So, nothing.
And yet, Yuma stood there for a full five seconds, staring at the bottle like it had changed his life.
That's when he knew.
He was screwed.
"I think I have a problem," Yuma muttered, staring blankly at his lunch tray.
Jo and Nicholas shared a glance.
"You think?" Jo asked, unimpressed.
Nicholas smirked. "Oh, you're done for."
Yuma groaned. "Why does it feel worse knowing he liked me first?"
Jo tilted his head. "Because now you're spiraling."
"I don't spiral."
Nicholas snorted. "Yeah? Then why did you just spend twenty minutes staring at Harua across the cafeteria?"
Yuma stiffened. "I was thinking."
Jo sighed. "Thinking about what, exactly?"
Yuma ran a hand through his hair. "...His stupid calm face."
Nicholas grinned. "Wow. You're down bad."
Jo took a sip of his drink. "Embarrassing, really."
Yuma groaned into his hands.
Then one day,
Harua was ready.
Or at least, as ready as he'd ever be.
Taki and EJ had cornered him after school.
"You have to do it today," Taki insisted.
"Before you overthink and die," EJ added.
Harua sighed. "Fine."
Unfortunately for him, Yuma had also reached his breaking point.
Which led to both of them blurting out at the same time—
"I like you."
Silence.
Taki and EJ (hiding behind the lockers) gasped.
Nicholas and Jo (watching from the stairs) lost their minds.
Maki, who had just walked by, blinked. "Wait. Finally?"
Harua's brain short-circuited. "Wait—you what?"
Yuma ran a hand through his hair, looking deeply frustrated. "I mean—yeah. I do."
Harua's heartbeat stopped.
Then Yuma groaned, rubbing his face. "But you liked me first."
Harua blinked. "Does that matter?"
Yuma groaned louder. "YES."
Taki screamed.
EJ looked proud.
Jo and Nicholas fist-bumped.
Maki sighed. "Idiots."
Yuma finally exhaled, looking Harua straight in the eye. "Look, I tried to play it cool. But it turns out? I suck at this."
Harua, for the first time all day, smiled. "Yeah. You really do."
Yuma scoffed. "Wow, okay. Rude."
Harua shrugged. "You like me anyway."
Yuma groaned again, covering his face. "Ugh, why is that true?"
Harua just laughed.
And for the first time since realizing he was falling, Yuma let himself fall completely.
At the school gate, K and Fuma watched the scene unfold.
K adjusted his bag. "Should we say something?"
Fuma sighed. "I think they're handling it."
They watched as Taki and Nicholas dramatically reenacted the confession while Yuma tried to shove them into a bush.
K nodded. "Good for them."
Fuma exhaled. "Teenagers."
And with that, they left.
Meanwhile, Harua and Yuma—completely tuning out the chaos—walked home together, arguing about who should've confessed first.
Final Score:Harua: Fell first.Yuma: Fell like an idiot.Nicholas & Jo: Witnesses to his downfall.Taki & EJ: Absolutely knew.Maki: The only sane one.K & Fuma: Observers of stupidity. The Outcome?
Inevitable.
