all she hoped to do was stay alive and not get put on a quest. and then maybe live a happy life in new york. all she wanted was to live a quiet, little life.

but unfortunately even that doesn't seem to be a standard for demigods.

evelyn madden gets stabbed while protecting (hey, whatever it takes to get out of capture the flag) thalia's tree by the big, bad, blonde, daddy issues himself, luke castellean. and turns out the knife had a poisoned tip which was the same poison that thalia had.

and while she was supposed to die, she didn't. now her body is fighting the poison and she has a month left to live.

so she gets put on a quest (which is the opposite of her plan of staying alive).

forced to team up with an angry daughter of ares (again, opposite of her plan of survival).

and has to find a golden fleece that will be the only cure to save her. and the tree.
