二十六 (Twenty-Six)
I wake up in a startle. I gasp in the air. I grip my fists. I grip the covers. Sweat pours down my face. What... what was that? That was honestly terrifying. The dead were telling me something. I know it. I look down and see the rabbit running it's ears over my hand. I let out a breath as I pick it up. Lan Zhan... Lan Zhan... Lam Zhan, do you even still remember me?
"What happened?" Han Yo wakes up.
"Nothing, just bad dream." I say.
"Let me take the suffering from you." He reaches for me.
"No!" I take up my flute.
He draws back.
"No." I breathe out.
"I can take the suffering from you." He reaches for me.
I throw myself off the bed. He looks up at me in surprise.
"I just... I just..." I start.
He shoots forward. He lifts my head up.
"What do you want?" He asks.
His tongue shoots out like a serpent. It touches my lips.
"I..." I start.
"Yes?" He raises an eyebrow.
"I have to go back home." I say.
"And where is that?" He asks.
I stop. I look down. Home... home... home... it was like a murky ocean. I should no the answer it.
"...." I couldn't even answer that.
"Let me take the suffering from you." His eyes glow yellow.
