麦茵的故事 (Mai Yin's Story)
"Mai Yin, how do you know the dagger was stolen?" I ask.
Mai Yin looks down.
"My father guarded it with his life... clearly." She says.
"They said this man left nobody alive, does that mean-" I start.
"My father was killed by him? Yes." She says.
"Are you going after the second piece for vengeance?" Lan Zhan asks.
Lan Zhan, don't. I look at him.
"No. Truth be told, we got into one nasty fight. I... I said a lot of things I regret." She says.
"I'm sorry." I say.
"I don't take this out of hate. I take this for retribution. Out of love." She says.
I nod.
"But... for now, I'm starving let's find an inn." She grabs my hand.
"Okay..." I look at Lann Zhan.
He nods and follows. We walk through the town to find a small inn. Mai Yin walks right in. Lan Zhan grabs my arm.
"What? You still don't trust her?" I ask.
"She's not telling us something." Lan Zhan says.
"Well... maybe if you give her an chance." I point out.
"You two boys coming?" Mai Yin calls.
I look at him. He lets go of my arm.
"Yes." I say.
We enter and sit down. Mai Yin smiles at us. Lan Zhan draws back.
"What would you guys like?" The waiter comes over.
"Alcohol." I say.
"Three sets of your best dishes." Mai Yin asks.
The waiter nods and turns. Mai Yin pulls out something. An old map.
"What is that?" I ask.
"A map to the second half of Shin Nu." She answers.
