三人的黎明 (The Dawn of the Three)

"Wei Ying, are you okay?" Lan Zhan asks me.

"I'm fine, it was just one bad dream." I shrug.

"Boys, come on!" Mai Yin yells.

"She's even more demanding than you." I mutter.

Lan Zhan looks at me.

"Nothing." I quickly say.

"Are you too coming? We have a long ride ahead." Mai Yin calls.

"Come on." I say.

I start chasing after her.

"How are we going to get to Shara?" I ask.

She points. I see her buying three horses.

"Horses?" I ask.

"You do know how to ride, don't you?" She asks.

"Yes. Yes, I do." I say.

She pokes my chest.

"Good." She smiles.

"Hey, ow. Why are your nails so sharp?" I cross my arms.

"Why not? It intimidates men." She smiles.

Lan Zhan glares at her.

"I bought them." She pulls them over.

She hands me reins holding a black one. She hands Lan Zhan a brown one.

"I get dibs on the mare and the white one." She smiles and gets on.

"She's stubborn." I whisper to Lan Zhan.

"Let's go." He ignores me.

I nod and clamber on. It neighs loudly. It throws its body around. I almost fall off. Mai Yin laughs.

"I thought you said you knew how to ride." She says.

"I do, but this horse doesn't seem to like me." I choke out.

"Wei Ying, concentrate." Lan Zhan says.

"The sun's rising. It's dawn." Mai Yin says.

"And...?" I ask.

"Never mind. Race you!" She yells as he kicks the horse.

I nod and follow her, barely.
