You had never liked public spaces.

There was something about those bright artificial lights that made your eyes sting. The loud music blasting from every direction ticked you off. All the annoying ads full of fluorescent colours and childish fonts didn't sit right with you.

"(y/n)... wanna go on a date?"

"Huh? So suddenly?"

Takashi smiled sheepishly, scratching at the scruff of his neck awkwardly.

"See, I thought I hadn't been spending enough quality time with you as your boyfriend, y'know?"

"Uh... sure, I guess?"

You sounded hesitant, but you were exploding with ecstasy inside, a million fireworks bursting loudly deep within you.

Takashi smiled coyly, placing a hand on your head. You blushed slightly as you looked into his lilac eyes, pleading orbs betraying your own cold facade.

But not gonna lie, I kind of am regretting this.

You turned the volume up, your favourite song blasting into your ears louder than before from your earphones. You knew it probably wasn't good for you, but it was better than hearing the incessant chattering of the crowd and the ugly 90's pop song in the restaurant.

A warm hand reached out and placed itself over your own tense ones. You relaxed slightly.

It's fine.

Takashi always makes me feel safe.

"What do you want to eat, honey?"

His voice always made you feel warm inside. You wondered how he did so—no one ever made your cheeks flush so quickly. No one ever caused your skin to tingle like that.

"...You are listening to me, are you?"

You jolted quickly, nodding. Even you yourself knew that that was a blatant lie.

Takashi sighed, but amusement was evident in his tone. He took his hand off yours, raising it to place an order.

You looked away quickly, hiding your face under your hair as you heard footsteps approach. Takashi's other hand found its way to yours and gripped it tightly.

You repeated to yourself in your head again...

It's fine.

Because Takashi always makes me feel safe.
