This place looks... so sad. I bite my lip. Lan Zhan gets in front of me. I look around. I feel smoke clogging my lungs. It wraps around me. I feel the fire's heat on my skin. I rise up a little to get a better view. I look up. I see the sky black as coal. 

"Nothing grows. There is a great evil here." The old man says.

"I feel it as well. It's something ghastly." Lan Zhan pulls out his accord. 

I let out a breath. There's some truth that I don't want to know. I'm not even sure I want to find this out. My hands were shaking. I grip my hands. Lan Zhan looks at me. I shoot forward and start circling him. My movements were getting faster and faster. I look around anxiously.

"Wei Ying, concentrate." Lan Zhan says.

I nod. I let out a breath. I stand next to him.

"Who dares to enter my domain?" A loud voice booms.

I jump. Lan Zhan stands up. He puts the accord back on his back. I look around.

"Little sprite, why have you returned?" It booms.

"So... I have been here before." I mutter.

"Your presence has always been the same, pathetic and small." It booms.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"I am the force that destroys all life. I am the force that wipes and conquers all land." It booms.

"Your riddles are annoying just show your true form." I say.  

"Very well wind." It booms.

I look up and I see eyes burst form the shadows. Red, enflamed eyes. I see a shape mushroom into the sky. It opens like a volcano. Its arms spread wide and drip lava as its wings. I draw back. It was enormous. It was a bird of flames and darkness. A phoenix. My eyes widen as this creature of fire looks down at me.

"Run." It booms.
