"I can... I can talk!" I yelp.
How... how is this possible? I look at the old man. I have never been so glad to hear my voice. I am so going to constantly use this against Lan Zhan. I missed being able to talk and laugh. But mostly... I missed being heard.
"Thank you." I lower my head in respect.
"Wei Ying... tell him about what you remember." Lan Zhan says.
I look at my hands. I guess I should and can spill the guts.
"Fire. Blackness." I say.
I grip my chest. Even reciting it sends shivers up my spine. It's kind of terrifying. Lan Zhan puts his hand on my shoulder. Well, he tried.
"I saw a figure. I think." I look down.
I don't really remember but my dream has to be a memory. That much is certain.
"Well... I have heard of this before." He says.
I look at him in surprise.
"Really?" I ask.
"Yes... a small mention of it from Mother Mountain." He says.
"Mother Mountain?" I look at Lan Zhan.
"What was it you have heard?" Lan Zhan asks.
"A darkness. An unpredictable, uncontrollable force. Fire is like but this... we need to go Mother Mountain. She's old enough to remember." He says.
I shoot up and my arms stretch out.
"What... what is he doing?" He asks Lan Zhan.
"Hold on mister." I say.
"Hold on." Lan Zhan says.
