Chapter 4
"Is this really it? This is the place of safety?" Pit asked her. (Y/n) nodded with a slight smile although she winced soon after due to her injuries.
"It's exactly what it looks like. An old house that humans would likely never venture to. It's too far from the main city to be visited, and it's not close enough to the woods to be infested with animals. It's my favorite place to be," (y/n) said.
"City? What do you mean by main city?" Pit questioned as he pushed the door open. (Y/n) glanced at him and sighed. How could he not know what a city was?
"Don't tell me Palutena didn't even tell you about the modern age. This is worse than I thought. I'm going to have to teach you everything aren't I..." (y/n) mumbled as she opened the door. Pit still didn't seem to get what she meant, so she'd definately have to explain some things the momemt she got back. "There's food in the fridge if you get hungry. I have some pizza left from last night. I didn't eat all of it. If you get too bored, I've got a Switch and Overwatch is on my computer. I doubt you'd even know how to use that stuff. There's also...Pit, are you okay?"
"I've never seen any of these things before," Pit quietly spoke as he walked into the home. He was intrigued by almost everything. It took (y/n) a moment to realize he was crying as he observed his new surroundings. "I can't believe Palutena was keeping all of this away from me," he whimpered. It was surprising even to (y/n) that Palutena had hidden the world's technological advances from him. It didn't make sense as to why.
"Pit, if you give me five to ten minutes, I can tell you the essentials. I don't know if you forgot, but I'm still bleeding and so are you. I'll be right back to tell you everything I know, and I'll get you taken care of since you can't go where I'm going," (y/n) said before she went to retrieve a relocation charm from her room upstairs.
"You don't have any floor ice cream?" Pit questioned as if floor ice cream was a normal thing. (Y/n) had barely heard his question, but surely it had been a joke. She returned after getting a handful of charms and a hoodie which she had slipped over her gray angelic attire.
"Wait, you were serious about the floor ice cream?" (y/n) inquired when she realized that Pit was still waiting for her answer. He didn't say no, and it was clear that he was afraid that yes was the wrong answer.
"On second thought, don't touch the fridge. If there is any ice cream on the floor when I get back, I'm making you sleep on the carpet," (y/n) said. Pit nodded although he kept staring at her. "What?" she asked.
"You look so...human. Are you really an angel? And what is that thing you're wearing. I've never seen one before," Pit shyly spoke refering to the Seahawks hoodie she'd put on. He avoided her gaze and his wings drooped down to his sides as his face flushed with color.
"He really has no idea what a hoodie is..." (y/n) thought with a sigh. "I'll be back. Just please take care of yourself for a bit," she informed before heading out. Hopefully, he wouldn't be in too much trouble when she returned. Once she was outside, (y/n) pulled a relocation charm from the pocket of her hoodie and broke it. She was used to the way the scenery would suddenly change, so (y/n) wasn't bothered by what would have been motion sickness for most others.
"What brings you back so quickly? Didn't you just leave to visit the humans? Don't tell me you've grown bored of your little establishment already? Or did you come back for more money? Isn't it illegal for people to copy money?" Pandora greeted her with questions like those almost every time she returned. "And you're bleeding too. I wondered why your wings weren't out. Did you get into a fight? Hmm?" the blue floating flame spoke.
"It's none of your business, Pandora. I got into a fight and decided not to fight back. That's it. And I'm not a human so I don't abide by their laws. I'm not here for the money anyway," (y/n) said as she walked past the goddess of calamity. Pandora laughed at her.
"Snappy as always. I'm sure you just said it wasn't my business, yet you told me everything," she scoffed. (Y/n) didn't pay her any attention. Instead, she walked along the path leading to Medusa's temple of sorts where she would likely find Asclepius. She hated having to go to him for help knowing he often overworked himself, but ever since the location of the rewind springs was lost, he was her only option. There was no floor ice cream for her in Medusa's domain, and even if their were, she wouldn't dare eat ice cream off the floor. Being that he was the god of medicine, Asclepius was the only healer there was in Medusa's domain.
"Back again? Did you go rescue that angel already?" Asclepius spoke the moment she walked into his lab of sorts.
"You aren't supposed to know about that. I didn't tell anyone. If you speak a word of him or even imply that he isn't with Palutena anymore, I'll make you regret it," (y/n) growled. Asclepius shrugged his shoulders at her threat. In truth, (y/n) knew he wouldn't ever tell her secrets since he was the closest to a genuine friend that she had. It would be a true betrayal for him to spill such information.
"That's only fair. I didn't plan on it anyway. You seem to forget every time you come here that I can hear your wounds crying for help before you even reach me. They tell the story that you never do," Asclepius muttered as he continued to work on whatever concoction Medusa had put him up to making.
"Weirdo..." (y/n) muttered. She saw Asclepius glance at her likely wanting to say something, but he remained silent and pointed at the ground just as (y/n) was bitten just above her ankle. The snakes from his staff were able to heal anyone they bit, but (y/n) held great disdain for snake bites.
"You never give any warning. Why are those things always roaming around the place anyway?" (y/n) hissed as she kicked the snake away. It quickly retreated into a dark corner of the room.
"I did give you a warning just then when I pointed. You knew you'd be bitten anyway so I don't see what the problem is. Your wounds should be healed now so you can see yourself out," Asclepius mumbled as he began to immerse himself in his work. He was many years older than even Medusa, yet she was the one ordering him around.
"Take better care of yourself. You've got no one to look after you. That youthful appearance of yours won't last forever if you keep neglecting your own health, you hypocrite," (y/n) said as she found one of his lab coats and threw it over his shoulders. He muttered a thanks but didn't seem to have paid her words much attention. (Y/n) simply shook her head at him and grabbed a few supplies to treat Pit's minor wounds. She quickly left before his snake of healing could bite her again. Not wanting to talk to Pandora on her way out, (y/n) broke another relocation charm to get back to the place she'd love to call home. If it weren't for her duties as an angel, she would stay in that house and live among the humans forever.
"Hey, why are you outside? What are you doing?" (y/n) questioned as panic struck her. Pit was standing outside of the house and staring up at the sky. A light drizzle of rain had begun to fall before her arrival, so she didn't notice Pit's tears at first. She had mistaken them for drops of rain. "Pit...what's wrong?" she asked as she stepped closer to him.
He tore his gaze from the darkening clouds and quickly wiped his face before looking to her with a sad smile. "Nothing. It's just been so long since I've seen it rain. I never thought it would be something to miss," he spoke. His words broke (y/n)'s heart right in half.
"Pit, go inside so I can treat your wounds. Then I'll bring you back out here while the rain isn't too bad," (y/n) ordered. Pit complied without hesitation and she followed him back into the house. He seemed lost in thought as she wrapped his arm in Asclepius' special bandages and treated his harmed wing with the oils of healing she had borrowed.
"Wait here. I'll be right back," (y/n) promised once she was done. The rain had picked up a bit, and (y/n) knew this would be a problem. Regardless of what the weather was slowly turning into, she couldn't let Pit miss the opportunity to enjoy the rain especially while he still wanted to. She'd gone upstairs to get an umbrella since the one she had next to her door was too small for the two of them to fit under. "Let's go. We can't stay too long since it might get worse out there, but it would be wrong to keep you away from the rain any longer."
Pit followed her outside not once looking sad. He was surprisingly good at hiding it, but he couldn't stop the deep hurt that he radiated. (Y/n) could feel such emotions due to her small degree of divinity. Pit didn't know this, so (y/n) pretended not to notice as he kept that smile on his face.
"We can sit right here. Just try not to move around too much. This umbrella will only do so much to keep us dry out here," (y/n) informed as she pointed to a spot in the grass. She sat down first and Pit quickly followed suit to stay up under the umbrella. (Y/n) was a bit surprised when he didn't hesitate to hold on to her arm as he sat relatively close. To be fair, he had to stay under the umbrella. Plus, he had latched onto the arm (y/n) used to hold the umbrella.
"For an enemy, you sure are nice. Are you sure you're not an angel of light? You don't really seem like a forces of evil type of angel," Pit thoughtfully spoke. He seemed to be coping a bit better although his pain was still there. It bothered (y/n) that he would have such a bitter feeling of betrayal weighing down his heart.
"So we're still enemies even now? You still wish to follow Palutena's guidance?" (y/n) questioned. Pit didn't answer her at first and held his free hand out into the rain.
"I don't know anymore. I can at least trust you since you told me the truth and volunteered to help me...but I don't know you. I don't know what this world is like anymore. I don't even know...who I am anymore," Pit spoke. Thunder sounded shortly afterwards and caused them both to flinch. "Maybe we should go back inside..."
(Y/n) stopped him from standing. "Not just yet. This thing has to go," she said as she pointed at his laurel crown. He reached up and touched it before pulling it from his hair.
"Yeah. It does need to go doesn't it..." he said with a frown. He stared at the accessory as if it were a weapon that could harm millions if in the wrong hands. "Can you get rid of it for me?" (Y/n) intended to do so from the very beginning.
"Of course. You'll never see or hear from this thing ever again," (y/n) said as she stood up. "Here. Go back inside while I handle this. I'll come back to explain things to you. I'll tell you all about this place." She handed Pit the umbrella and stepped out into the rain before pulling a relocation charm from her hoodie's pocket. (Y/n) pulled her hood over her head before she disappeared leaving Pit to himself for just a moment longer.

"Lady Palutena, we were able to find something," an officer of the angel army said as he returned. Palutena had ordered more than half of her forces to search the surrounding area for any signs or traces of Pit. They were told to kill the enemy angel on sight.
"What did you find? Did you see Pit? Is he okay?" Palutena inquired. She was restless and highly irritated. It wasn't the first time Pit had attempted to run away, but it was the first time he had been successful at doing so. Not only that, but he also had help this time.
"We didn't find Pit, but we did find this," the angel said as he held out the object. A note was attatched to it and Palutena turned it so that it could be read.
"Where did you find this?" Palutena asked the angel.
"It was within your domain in a random patch of field. We searched the area, but there were no traces of anyone being there," the angel reported. Palutena nodded and dismissed them as she continued to stare at the note attached to the laurel crown that Pit used to wear.
"Send out the centurions and make sure they don't overlook amything. If Pit isn't found soon, his life may end," Palutena ordered. The angel left to carry out her orders immediately.
"You've kept him from the truth for too long. The least you could have done was let him experience the world and make his own decisions. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let you have him back. Pit isn't your property." Palutena read the note in her mind over and over again. It was undoubtedly (y/n) who had written such a note.
"If I hadn't given you a piece of my divinity back then...if none of them had, you'd be less of a pest and more like a real angel should be," Palutena muttered to herself. She had no idea where they could be now that the world was so vastly different. All Palutena did know was that she needed to find Pit soon before he learned too much. There was only so many of his memories that she could erase. "He may not be my property, but he certainly doesn't belong with you."

Any guesses on their current location? Is anyone curious about how (y/n) has divinity? Also Asclepius isn't actually in the Kid Icarus franchise. He's a Greek god of medicine or something like that. We'll start right where we left off, so until next time you excellent readers!
