Having a 'normal' patrol
Narrator's P.O.V.:
💮
From the rooftops, a shadowy figure spotted an old woman about to be attacked by the Purple Dragons. 'Not stealthy enough,' she thought, unimpressed. 'This is boring. Yet, I have nothing else to do but protect the city and seek revenge. I might as well kick some ass.' With a heavy sigh, she leaped down in front of the gang, demonstrating her ninjutsu skills and a combination of her other abilities. The shadowy figure realized it was Hun and his goons—they always seemed to leave town with money.
This was testing her patience.
As she landed with a grace that belied the tension in the air, the gang turned, startled by her sudden appearance. Hun's eyes narrowed, a mix of recognition and disdain surfacing. "Well, well, if it isn't the city's self-appointed guardian," he sneered, adjusting the collar of his leather jacket. "What makes you think you can take us on alone?"
It made his goons laugh at her, an evil smirk crossed under her mask, her stance firm and ready. "You underestimate me, Hun." She scoffs, "That's your first mistake." She narrowed her icy blue eyes at him, taking out my twin-blade katanas as she sliced the garbage can in half, it caused the goons to freeze but with eyes in anger; She, on the other hand, started walking towards them in a creepily slow manner to intimate her opponent:
"Your little show doesn't scare me," Hun hesitantly retorts, though there is an edge of uncertainty in his voice. He signaled to his gang, a group of hulking brutes who had long grown used to intimidating those weaker than themselves.
Yet, the air crackled with an unusual tension as she advanced, the moonlight glinting off her blades like stars drawn to Earth, "Your empty threats are tiresome," she replied, her voice steady and unwavering, "Though, ya'll just a bunch of thugs hiding behind bravado. Firstly, I'm not into creepy street thugs like you, 'gentlemen'. Second," Slicing another trash can with her other katana by mocking their words and continuing:
"I do not appreciate seeing you picking on innocent people or stealing their stuff. And now, I'm going to teach you some manners." With a sudden burst of speed, she lunged at the Purple Dragons, her twin blades spinning dazzlingly as she easily knocked out Tsoi. She then punched and kicked Sid multiple times until he collapsed, nearly unconscious.
She sent Fong flying into the shadows before facing Hun. As she rushed at him to kick, he caught her ankle and threw her to the ground. Though she grunted in pain, she quickly got back up and attempted to punch him, but he seized her fist and pinned her against the wall.
[Meanwhile...]
Leonardo's POV:
After hours of patrolling with my brothers without incident, I decided to call it a night. Suddenly, I heard screams and spotted a mysterious figure being restrained by a gangster. I rushed to the alley, jumping off the rooftop and landing gracefully in the shadows.
"Release her, Hun! Or you won't make it out alive."
But Hun refused, so I got in a stance and flung towards him by kicking Hun away from the mysterious hooded woman (I could tell from the way she was dressed) which caught my interest but shook it off to save her before she could hit the ground, "You ok?"
Our eyes met and for a moment I stopped breathing when I was met by her icy blue eyes, I couldn't help but think that she was so... enchanting. But before I could even get close to leaning closer to take off her hoodie and mask that covers her mouth, she pushed me away and ran towards Hun's direction.
(Dark Ninja's POV):
'What was I staring at him for? Am I drawn to him? No, I can't acknowledge this unfamiliar feeling! I must suppress my emotions, and murder the criminal to protect the innocent, or I'll risk revealing my vulnerability. I don't understand these feelings because of how my face began heating up. Stupid hormones!
I cursed under my breath but continued on with my thoughts, 'Thankfully, I pushed him away before he could uncover my face from seeing my true identity.'
--Warning this may contain violence-- (wattpad don't erase it bc I'll block you)
Already lunging my foot straight at Hun's face; Making a cracking sound on his now broken jaw. With a glance over my shoulder, I notice the shadowy figure widen his domino eyes in shock, which is good because I want that person to understand he wouldn't think about messing with me; While going back to Hun, who continues backing away as I stepped closer and closer to kneel in front of him.
The old lady didn't notice this because she already left.
"Quiet, my sweet darling~," My murmur was laced with bittersweet venom, tilting my head to the side, and caressing his broken chin ever so gently, "I will harm you since I'm here to give you a fair and simple death tonight."
Hun's body shook in fear, I could see his goosebumps rising until a voice from behind stopped my hand from taking out my knife: "Miss," I froze at the sound, my breath caught in my throat like a fish flapping helplessly out of water. That voice, smooth yet sharp, sliced through the tension, yanking my focus away from the trembling man before me.
I twisted slightly to see who dared interrupt this moment, my expression darkened when I was met by the same domino eyes from the shadows, "I think it's best to let him go."
"And why should I do that, hm? You don't even know what information he has on my list." I spoke bitterly, "Plus, how can I listen to your words if you hide?"
His domino eyes narrow at me before he sighs in defeat, "You're right on the last part but, I know who this guy is..." He comes out from the shadows, only for me to widen slightly at his appearance.
He had the appearance of a turtle who's been mutated, his skin was fern green colored, his hands had two fingers and a thumb, and his feet had three toes which I found cute but mentally shook off by gripping Hun's collar as a way to ignore my weird thoughts; Without having to let go of him.
Continuing to analyze the ninja turtle behind me, he was 5'1 in height a ninja warrior since his ninja gear included diagonal straps, brown knee pads, elbow pads, and beige rolled bandages wrapped around his wrists, ankles, and fingers. He wears a royal blue bandana that only shows his cobalt blue eyes.
I was initially stunned and in awe, but quickly regained my stoic expression and glared at him, "Give me one damn reason not to kill him right here."
"Because if he has the information you need, you won't have any answers." Thinking about what he said, I didn't reply only to pull Hun's collar with force to make his eyes stare at me with fear; Wincing in pain in the process, I leaned into his ear: "Better understand that you are giving a chance to live because of this guy, be grateful."
I shove him away to the wall and motion Hun to leave, "Now get the f*ck outta here."
Hun does as told and runs away.
Leaving both me and the ninja turtle in the alleyway, who sighed in relief without realizing that I had already pointed my katana near his neck, which made him freeze and raise his three hands at surrender as if he was a bit nervous, "Woah, woah, woah!"
"You made me lose the only chance to gain the information I needed." I cursed at him and continued, trailing the hilt of my katana down to his collarbone; Not wanting to put my sword down yet, "But since you did rescue me from my ultimate death, I will let it slide for now..." I lower my katana before sheathing it back into my back with my arms now crossed over my armored chest.
The giant ninja turtle blinked a couple of times and slightly relaxed, "Thank you?" "Now would you care to give me a quick answer to my question?" He nods and I start: "Why is a ninja turtle like yourself doing in this neck of the woods?"
Leonardo's POV:
'She looks dangerous but I couldn't help but notice how beautiful her eyes are. She is not like any other girl I have seen before. Sure, April is a girl, but she is more like a sister to me,' I thought, instantly hoping that I wouldn't die by a mysterious ninja girl.
"I was out on patrol with my brothers when I heard screaming in the alleyway, and I saw you being pinned against the wall by Hun, the leader of the Purple Dragons." I continue, "Those punks should have known better than to harm innocent people like you. I couldn't just stand there, and I decided to help you. I hope you are okay."
Dark Ninja icily sighed, "I am not an 'innocent' as you see me," She pauses, "Out of curiosity, what is your name? Can't call you giant turtle ninja forever, huh." I could tell she must be smirking under her mask. I don't know what she's doing to me but my heart was pounding like crazy, not because of fear, but how deep and smooth her voice is.
I slowly gulped while my eyes were gluing onto her icy blue ones whenever she stared directly at me like that, I could feel the shiver running up my shell, "Very well, my name is Leonardo." I cleared my throat, "but everyone calls me Leo. What is your name?" I calmly asked.
"Dark Ninja..." She approached, tiptoeing to my ear, and softly whispered, "And it's not your place to ask questions."
If I had known better, I would have realized that 'Dark Ninja' was unafraid to intimidate me, despite her short stature. I felt a blush creeping in, and I was nearly overwhelmed as if I were hypnotized by her unexpected charm. Dark Ninja pulls away from me before jumping onto the balcony that leads to the rooftop, but I stop her: "Wait!"
She stopped.
"M-maybe we can get to know each other better?" I nervously suggested, not sure why I felt nervous but it seems to be odd.
Dark Ninja looked down while she chuckled after she had thought for a moment before saying: "It might happen one night." She turns to me, "See you around, Leonardo." Before running off from rooftop to rooftop, I rushed in hurry only my hopes of catching up to her but failed when I began pondering over finding her location with his eyes dreaming about her:
'Wow! She is so mysterious! Why am I thinking about her like that? I better get back at the lair and clear my mind.' With that, I left to the other side of the rooftop to head home, not wanting to tell my brothers that I met another ninja.
