She'd be lying though, if she said snapping her mother's neck and high-jacking her plan wasn't her pleasure. Katherine was not the only one with a plan, it was just simply that her plan was a mere foot note in her daughters. Yes, it had been an reckless decision. To take her mother's place, and attend the masquerade. However, it had been worth it. Until, Stefan decided to kill her and leave her in the tomb.
The vampress sighed to herself, runing a hand through her chocolate curls. She often determined that her recklessness and impulsiveness came from her mysterious father. Her mother rarely spoke of him, to her personally anyway, but when she did. She was constantly reminded how alike she was to her father. 'A female verison with my hair and eyes,' Katherine had often said. Although, she always neglected to mention anything important; a name or an address.
It was one of her lifelong issues that remained unresolved. Hushed whispers and the movement of the stone door scrapping across the floor gained her attention. She furrowed her brows, almost curious. She slowly got to her feet, before creeping towards the doorway. Leaning against the wall, she tilted her head, a dark but blank glare on her face at the sight of the carbon copy of her mother "Hello, Elena. Goodbye Caroline."
Caroline gulpped slightly, dreading the fact she was tasked with distracting Stefan, whilst Elena visited the Petrova vampress. She reluctantly departed, casting a look at the older brunette. Elena blew out a breath of air, stepping closer "Hey, Eliza."
Eliza raised her head slightly, suspicion shining in her greying features "What do you want, Elena? Does lover boy know your here?"
The Petrova decsentant swallowed, not out of emotion but rather answering her question; he did not. Eliza's eyes broadened with sarcastic surpries, blowing out a 'oh'. Elena kneeled, bringing her bag to floor and opened it. She pulled out a plastic cup and a bottle of blood. She met her ancenster's gaze, observing as she sat down gracefully. She filled cup halfway, before offering it.
"You have the Petrova fire." Eliza commented, toasting the cup before draining it, she placed it on ground "So, what do you want?" She raised a brow.
"I brought you this." Elena bag pulling out an old leather bound book, before handing it to Eliza. Who boredly glanced over it, and set it on the side. Curiosity ran though Elena's vains as she pulled out her final item. The bunch of newspaper clipping, photos, odds and ends she, Damon and Ric had found in Isobel's research. She found them quite interesting, and wondered how Eliza would react to them "And these."
"Come to bribe me, with old keepsakes." The vampress remarked homourlessly, taking the small stack off the mortal doppelganger. Elena observed as she flicked through it. Eliza chuckled at the photo of her and a old flame. Smirking at the smiling past version of her, with a bobcut "Just ask, Elena."
Elena sat on her arse, drawing her knees to her chest and rapped her arms around them, she furrowed her brows "What's the story between Klaus and Katherine? Why's she running from him, for so long?"
"Because he wanted something from her. The same thing he'll want from you." Eliza sighed, leaning her back against the wall, keeping her gaze on her curious relative "To break the curse."
"By sarcrificing the Petrova doppelgangar." Elena concluded with a nod.
"Hm. He wanted to drain every single drop of blood from mama's body." Eliza informed stoic, almost bored.
Elena frowned "What does the Petrova bloodline have to do with Klaus?"
"Witches are to blame for that." Eliza spat "The curse is bound with Petrova blood. And let's not forget, doppelgangers are quite useful with spells. By using a doppelganger to bind the curse, you need one to break it."
"She ran before he could kill her?"
Eliza nodded "In way. Mama was smuggled away by some vampires."
"Rose and Trevor." Elena uttered.
"Whilst they argued about taking her back to Klaus, she tried to kill herself. Only for - Rose was it? - to heal her. And so, with her blood in her system. She hung herself, not even anticipating about Klaus' wrath," A dark, resentful look flashed over Eliza's face "or the child in her belly."
Elena's face fell. She was gobsmacked "How did you survive? Her tranformation?" Eliza tilted her head, she had her suspicions but she wasn't about to tell her decsentant about them, nor her other characteristics "What did Klaus do?"
"Killed her entire family. Since she wasn't useful to him anymore." She informed emotionless.
Elena looked at the ground in thought, disgust washed over her "She used Rose and Trevor, and that got Trevor killed." She looked at her ancestor "How could she do that?"
Eliza looked at her blankly "Like mama always likes to say; better you die, than I."
"Why does she want to hand me over to Klaus?" Elena furrowed her brows "Why did you come back? Why try and kill your own mother?"
"Me and mama don't have the best relationship in the universe. As for handing you over to Klaus, she probably wants to strike a deal." Eliza drew one leg up, resting her arm on her knee "As for way I came here. Klaus will need a werewolf and a vampire to break the curse. And well, I'm sure he would appreciate mama as the sarcrifical vampire."
"So, me, Mason and Caroline, she's going to hand us all over to him." Elena stared "You'd really let Klaus kill her? You'd really condemn your mom?"
"Wouldn't be the first time." Eliza shrugged "Why should I care for her, when she's cared so little for me."
"She used Mason Lockwood to find the moonstone. And with him dead, she triggered his werewolf curse." Elena listed, before looking to see whether she was correct.
Eliza arched her head "Look who's catching on, now."
Elena grabbed her bag, scrapping through it and pulled out a brown folded paper. She offered it to her ancestor eagerly "Is this him? Is this Klaus?"
Eliza took the paper from her grasp and opened it, a breath fell from her lips, her doe orbs broadened as her face fell at the faded drawing.
She stared, unblinkingly at the stoic expression belonging to a raven haired man. Who stared back pridefully, hair drawn back over his head. In casted in old leather "This isn't Klaus." She whispered.
"Who is he then?" Elena questioned, disappointed that with her revelation.
"Morpheus." Eliza breathed, never tearing her gaze away.
"Morpheus?" Elena furrowed her brows, in confusion.
"It's a long story," the vampress drawled "Morpheus and I."
The doppelganger raised her brows "Like Klaus and Katherine?"
"Like mama, it turns out I have her luck with men." She deadpanned.
Elena frowned, concern swirling in her orbs "You loved him."
"Elena!"
Eliza barely listened to Stefan and Elena as they argued. She folded the paper, getting to her feet.
"Listen to me. She's a liar, like Katherine. She exactly like Katherine!" Stefan cried desperately, gripping his girlfriend's shoulders firmly "She doesn't care!"
"You don't know that!" Elena protested "You didn't hear what she said!"
"You don't have to worry about that. I'm not gonna let anything happen to you."
"That's the problem!" She cried "You won't, but you all die trying. It'll be all because of me! How can that be any better?"
"There's nothing you can do, Stefan." They turned to Eliza, who leant against the tomb wall "Klaus will get his vengeance on all of you, just for getting in his way. Come on, Stefan. You know she's doomed."
"Is this your offer?" Stefan questioned "You want your freedom? You manipulative, psychotic, evil bitch."
"Ask mother for the moonstone, ask her, Elena, ask her what you asked me." Eliza chortled, rolling her eyes "You really believe I want my freedom?" Lie, but she wasn't going to give him the pleasure "When Klaus comes to kill us all, and he will. I'll be the safest evil bitch in town."
