"Why in the name of Godric Gryffindor didn't you tell me!?" Elise shouted, storming down the corridor. I quickly ran after her,

"Because he was still quite injured! I wanted to wait till everything cooled off!" I defended, catching up to her and grabbing her arm. I pulled her back so hard she almost fell over.

"Elise. You can't just storm up to him and throw a punch!" I explained, "You'll lose points and it won't do any good!"

She didn't seem convinced.

For context, the situation I was in started in late January, even everyone had returned from the holidays. Reece and I went home for the rest of the break and he focused on healing his injuries caused by my now ex boyfriend.

Yes I did break up with Rio after the Christmas Ball. He did not take it well. I vaguely remember his angry response letter before I tore it up and burned it.

But now, Elise has just found out the state of her best friend. She was angry to say the least,

"Reece is fine! He has one broken rib, a broken arm, and a few bruises and scratches. My mother gave him some Skele-Gro but my father insisted we go to St Mungos just to be safe."

I guided Elise to the nearest bench and sat her down, "I was due for my mid year check up anyway, so they did some tests and said he would be fine with the potion but they still put him in a cast." I reassured.

"I don't care. That jerk needs to pay." She concluded, and got up and made a run for it.

"Ugh Elise." I cursed under my breath, running to follow her. I couldn't keep up as well, my lungs were starting to burn like they were on fire. It feels like I'm deteriorating.

I finally found her in the Quidditch pitch, where Hufflepuff and Gryffindor were practicing on opposite ends. Rio had decided to join Quidditch to take his mind off of me I guess.

"Get down here you bastard!" Elsie screamed at the Hufflepuff team. Rio laughed at her as he suddenly emerged from the team's locker room.

"What the hell are you doing here Wilson?" He scoffed, ever since I ended things he's never said my name. I just raised my arm towards Elise.

"Nobody-" she swung at him, hitting him square in the face, "fucks up my best friend-" then another hit, "and gets away with it!" Then one more.

Rio scrunched up his face, one hand to his cheek. I could see the blood already seeping through the gloves he was wearing. Bloody hell Elise.

"For the love of- get the hell away from me! That bitch had it coming for him!" Rio spat, I grabbed Elise and jerked her back again. My abdomen was starting to cramp.

"Elise...c'mon!" I grunted, using whatever strength I had in me at the time to get her away from the now crowd of the Hufflepuff quidditch team that was starting to form around Rio.

I looked up at the stands and found my brother of all people, sitting by himself. I dragged Elise to him, maybe he could talk some sense into her.

"Nice hit Elli." My brother exclaimed, his face lighting up when he saw us. I rolled my eyes at his comment and sat Elise down next to him.

"He had it coming." She grunted, folding her arms. He wrapped his good arm around her shoulder,

"Thank you for beating the shit out of him. Especially when I can't." He laughed, holding up his cast. This made the corners of Elise's mouth turn upwards, and she was right about one thing- Rio did have it coming.

"Hey guys..." A voice called, I looked to see Aries standing on the other side of my brother, holding something in a container.

Reece smiled up at her, Aries looked down at her box, "I didn't know you had company. You're normally here alone." She laughed, I could tell she was more nervous because I was here.

Elise looked up, "Oh hey, I'm Elise. Elise Rookwood." She held out her bloody knuckled hand to shake.

Aries smiled and gently shook it, "Well I'll just-"

"We were just about to get going." I interrupted, flashing Aries a small smile. "He's all yours."

I watched her exhale and looked down at Reece, "Let's go watch the sunset Reece, it's so pretty and I made some treats for us." She beamed, he gave her a nod and stood up.

"Alright darling, let's go." He replied, turning back to wink at me before following Aries down the bleachers. Elise pretended to gag behind their back.

Rio and I breaking up wasn't the only thing that had changed during the holiday. Reece and Aries had gotten together, so had every other set of my friends. Charlotte and Remus, James and Lily.

But who I was really curious about was Elise and Severus.

"Elise," I asked, "you never told me what you said to Snape during the ball." I commented. Elise swallowed hard,

"I didn't really say anything to him..." she admitted sheepishly. For someone with dried blood on their knuckles she did look pretty shy.

"You didn't tell him how you felt!?" I gasped, the ball was so romantic. It was the perfect time!

"No...there just wasn't a right moment. He didn't want to dance or talk or anything. I feel like a fool." She pouted. I placed my hand on her shoulder,

"Don't worry, we'll find a way to show him." I reassured. "Let's get out of here." I suggested, starting down the stairs. Elise followed until I told her I was headed to the library, she said she was going to practice some charms in the common room so we split.

Pushing the heavy double doors open to the library I was immediately hit in the face with the amazing smell of old books.

I sighed, scanning around for an open table, there was an astrology essay that needed my attention. Stars and space had a special place in my heart, my father loved looking at the stars with me when I was little. We would sneak out when mom fell asleep just to go on his telescope.

I studied the pattern of the stars and concluded they formed the pattern of Orien's belt. Suddenly a vision of the same gold pattern crossed my mind.

I recognized it was the ceiling in the Ravenclaw common room. I remember the smell of vanilla and nutmeg. Then I remembered the way Leia's lips felt on mine.

I snapped my book shut, what the hell was I thinking? I'm supposed to be writing an essay right now. I placed my head in my hands and tried to clear my head, when that didn't work, I quickly gathered my things up and left.

I decided to take a visit to the greenhouse.
