"Told you I would be back." I heard my brother, I made sure to stay so where they wouldn't see me. I followed him to a staircase secluded from the dance. There was a girl wearing white, it looked like Aries.

When I confirmed it was her, I stayed even farther into the shadows.

"I never doubted you would." She laughed, taking one of his drinks. "Thank you for the drink."

"I'm sorry." He said suddenly, I watched Aries frown, clearly confused. "I'm sorry I didn't talk to you after the Three Broomsticks."

Aries blinked, "Oh, it's alright I suppose. I did have a good time."

"I did too. I think that's why I didn't talk to you."

Aries still looked confused but my brother just shook his head, "Forget it Harbour, I'm drunk and don't know what I'm saying."

I watched as she placed her hand on his, then she stood up. "I'm gonna go find my friends."

I pressed my back further against the wall until I knew she was gone, then I peaked my head out and followed Reece as he staggered outside.

The ground was covered in thick snow. Real, glittery, white and freezing snow. I watched Reece as he fumbled with a cigarette.

My eyes flickered around and caught sight of Rio, standing on the other side of the courtyard. His tie was untied and hung loosely around him, he looked tired. Maybe I wore him out too much.

"Don't think I don't see you, prick." Reece snarled, turning towards Rio. I scrunched up my face, ready to say something but Rio just stepped forward instead.

"Listen, I already apologized to you and she'll never find out. Just drop it." Rio snapped back, I swallowed and sank further behind the wall.

"It doesn't matter, one day I'll tell her and maybe she'll recognize what an asshole you are." Reece yelled, holding up one of his hands to his head. I could guess it was pounding from all the alcohol.

"I love her. I didn't mean to spread to the school that she had the disease. I would never try to hurt her!" He yelled.

I felt my throat close, it started to burn and eventually I resumed breathing. Rio told the school about my disease?

He said it was an accident but...all of those people looking at me weird, my chest began to hurt, but I couldn't look away from my brother and my boyfriend.

"You knew what you did. I don't believe that shit for a second. I'll tell her tonight." Reece pushed, Rio walked closer to him and took a swing.

** skip this section if it's triggering- there's a lot of violence **

"Like hell you will." He growled, Reece got up quickly and swung back, hitting him in the face.

I watched Rio punch him again, this time knocking Reece down into the snow. I couldn't move, every muscle in me wouldn't move. He began to kick Reece, over and over again, making sure he stayed down.

"You bitch." Reece spat, spitting blood from his mouth. He looked like he was about to throw up, his face was pale. My tongue felt thick in my throat and hot tears were watering in my eyes, blurring my vision.

He tried to get Rio off of him but he kept going, then he grabbed Reece's collar and slammed his head into the ground. By the time he was done Reece looked barely conscious.

"You're such a disappointment to her. You're the worst brother imaginable, at least I'll be here to protect her. At least I'm not a deadbeat." Rio said, his eyes held the same hatred as Sirius. I never knew he felt this way about my brother, and my friends.

Reece couldn't move. I watched him lay in the white snow, that was now stained scarlet from blood. My body was trembling, my eyes followed Rio as he walked away. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve before my eyes were trained back on my twin.

I wanted to run to him, but I froze. If I could've changed anything in the world, it's that I would've stopped Rio. Tears were streaming down my face, and my brother just laid there. I could see he was bleeding, and the snow wouldn't have helped.

"Reece!" I heard Aries call, her hands picking up her dress as she ran to him. She immediately fell to her knees beside him, then she picked up his head and started brushing his hair out of his eyes.

That's when my body decided to move.

I slowly got myself out from behind the wall and proceeded to walk down the corridor. Not towards my brother, not towards Rio, just down the corridor.

I didn't want to dance. I could not go back to the party. Leia was the first person to find me.

"Aww for once in your life you don't look homeless!" She retorted, flashing a fake smile. All I could do was look at her, she frowned.

"This is the part where you're supposed to say something back, did dancing too much make your head spin? Too many glasses of punch?"

I felt my head shake slowly, "At least I beat you in that last history exam." I muttered. She scoffed.

"Why were you with Sirius, are you guys together?" I asked, forcing myself to think about anything but my brother.

"No-" She swallowed, "No we aren't together. We came only as friends, as if I would be stupid enough to go out with him." She added with a small laugh.

I nodded, "Don't you ever get sick of competing? Of being smart all the time? Don't you want to disappear?" I frowned, Leia's eyes met mine.

"Sometimes." She admitted, "Why are you-?" She asked, but I cut her off and took a step closer.

"Then why don't you just be you for two seconds? Be a human." My voice cracked at the last sentence, I fought the tears this time.

Leia took a few steps towards me, immediately I felt her warm lips collide with mine. The heat of a thousand suns seemed to fill my body, pushing the cold out. In a heartbeat, she pulled away.

"I can't ever truly be myself. Not if I can't do that." She whispered.

Tears fell from my eyes, I heard Aries' screams echo through the halls begging for someone to help. Leia looked at me strangely after, but I fell into her arms. We didn't move for what seemed like hours.

I couldn't do anything else but cry. I felt her pick me up, which was shocking because she was so small. She must've carried me to the Ravenclaw dorms, I saw constellation patterns on the ceiling. The next thing I knew, she gave me something to drink and then it went dark.
