Elizabeth furrowed her brows at them, confused, for a very good reason. Marshall gripped his hair and began to pace and mumble to himself, "What is his problem?" she asked Connor.

Connor sighed, "Well you have been frozen for nearly thirty years..." he moved to kneel next to her and undo the rest of her restraints, and she stood up and stretched a bit, her joints cracking a bit as she lets out soft grunts of relief.

"Yeah... What did I miss?"

"You want the textbook version or the cheat sheet?" she looked to him and Marshall.

"Cheat sheet. I don't want to be in here for much longer." she told the male.

"Alright. We thought Thanos was the worst but we were wrong. A long time after the end of Thanos, a bigger threat named Judas came in and mopped the floor with the Avengers."

As soon as he said that her face visibly softened, her demeanor now more humbled, "What happened to the Avengers?"

Connor's frown said it all, and she then bit her lip gently as she listened to the male finish, "Nobody knows what happened to them exactly. There was a bright flash of light, and they were gone. Not a trace... And now Earth lives under his rule, the Avengers' children forced into hiding."Β

Connor took his coat off and put it around her, "Take it. You were inΒ  cryostasis for a long time. Mars, let's get out of here..." he told them as he then moved to help Elizabeth walk out of the freezing, albeit much more bearable than before, corridor.

"So why is this Judas hunting the children? Shouldn't he be worried about the actual Avengers returning?" Elizabeth asked him, and Connor furrowed his brow at her.

"Well, what dictator is going to be paranoid about people returning if he was there to witness their demise?" he replied back to her, and the former assassin sighed softly as she then looked around.

"So," she began, "When can we leave?" she looked between the two males, and the duo looked to each other.

"We are staying the night... The forest is not a fun place to be traveling through after nightfall." Marshall explained to her.

She looked to the ground, and she sighed softly to herself, "Fine... I guess I can live with spending one more night in this hellhole." she told them.

Connor looked to her and his friend, "Take our new... Travel companion here to the main entrance."

"What are you going to do Connor?" he inquired.

"I am going to see if this warehouse has anything that can even be remotely used as bedding material." was all he said as he split off from the duo, internally hoping that the woman who was called the Silver Shadow was sincere with her words and actions, and that she really did not want to harm anyone.

One could only hope. And if he returned to see Marshall hurt in any way, shape, or form, she would have a lot to pay for.

So he walked to a room that he had spotted on his way to the freezer section of the abandoned base, and moved to twist the doorknob.

When it didn't open, Connor simply pulled out a couple of paperclips as he then slid them into the lock, and he then picked the lock open as he then opened the door slowly, stepping inside as he then moved to look around, putting the paperclips away as he then brought his flashlight out again as he smiled warmly as he saw the light touch shelves full of blankets and pillows.

He grabbed as many as he could carry before he swiftly returned to theΒ  duo, dropping the pillows and blankets that he had procured and he then said "Think this will be enough?" he asked them.

Marshall then looked up to his friend and sighed softly, "I am not sure it is. We are sleeping on cold hard concrete after all." he explained.

He opened his mouth to give a rebuttal, but his mind drew onto no possible thoughts, "Good point." Connor told him, and he then walked back to the room as he picked up more pillows and blankets as he then swiftly returned to them, "Is this enough? Because there is no more for me to take."

Marshall pursed his lips as he then moved to stand up, taking off his navy blue jacket and putting it around the female, "Here. You need it more than me." he told her.

Elizabeth smiled softly as she then said "Thanks." she told them as Marshall nodded his head slowly, and he then moved to help Connor set up a blanket as the ground cover, and they then arranged the pillows to go over the cover before they then moved to cover them with a blanket.

"That will prevent the ground sucking all the warmth out of us." Connor explained when Marshall questioned why they were doing this. Connor then moved to set up the remaining pillows and blankets as bedding, and the duo moved to the former assassin.

"You ready?" Connor asked her s they moved to hold her arms in theirs, and she nodded.

They counted down and they lifted her up, guiding her to the makeshift bed where they laid her down, "We all sleeping here?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

Marshall looked to his younger friend for an answer.

"It is like how penguins huddle to preserve warmth in the harsh arctic breeze. We will keep warm better than if we were all isolated." he replied, and the female nodded her head in understanding.

The two males then hunkered down next to her and they pulled the blankets over them, and they closed their eyes and fell asleep.

Cold. Dark. Frustration.

That is all he felt in that moment. The heavy breathing, the cool, slick sweat on his brow. He moved his hand to wipe his brow as he lifted his head in a general direction.

"Dad," the male began, removing the blindfold he wore and looked over to his father, "It is impossible!"

His father smiled warmly at his son, an he then said "Definitely with that attitude." he then lowered to squat, becoming eye level with the child, a hand reaching out to ruffle his dark hair as he then said "I believe in you Connor. You are my pride and joy."

The child rubbed his tear filled eyes as he then moved to look at the web shooters that were strapped to his wrists as he then said "I can't shoot it!" he whined to his father.

Peter smiled as he then moved to sit on the ground, pulling the six year old onto his lap as he kissed the top of his head, "Hey..." he whispered softly as he looked to the tree with a comforting tone, "Why don't you look at your target?' he whispered into his ear.

Connor then rubbed his eyes dry and sniffled softly, looking into his father's eyes.

"Go on..." he whispered softly as he then moved to bounce him gently.

Connor prepared himself to be disappointed in his target, but was surprised to see that more than half of his shots had landed on the target, and even more so a few of the shots hit the bulls-eye.

"See son? You did excellent. Now just promise to practice every day from now on, okay?"

His young son nodded his head, "Yeah!"

"Good. I promise you that if you keep practicing then you will-" he was cut off as his phone rang, and Peter pulled the small handheld device out of his pocket, and he then said "Sorry bud I have to take this." he kissed his head as he then answered the phone to talk to the man on the other line.

Connor frowned as he then thought 'Don't do it Dad! I won't see you forever!'

Then he woke up, not the usual sitting upright inducing kind of waking up, but the kind that woke him up to a cold sweat.Β

He raised an arm to rub the sweat off his brow, unconsciously using the same movements of the dream, or rather, memory he had relived.

Connor turned to his side to try and fall asleep, but the adrenaline in his system was pumping hard in his body, and after many attempts to fall back asleep, Connor decided to get up and physically tire himself out on his own.

He had made some targets out of some random paper that was lying around and used a permanent marker to draw rather crude but usable targets. He then hung them in a safe distance away from the seemingly slumbering duo as he then stood a good forty feet from the targets.

He took a deep breath as he then grabbed a bandanna from his pocket as he then tied it to blindfold himself, and he attached the web shooters to his wrist.

The male then recalled his father's words to him when he first started training the young male, "It is all in trusting your spider sense." he remembered his father telling him whenever he felt like giving up.

He raised his arms, and he then fired off several webs at where he believed the targets were located in the room, and he then shifted his body around so he could continue to his the targets he had set up.

Then his spider sense went off, the hairs on the back of his neck rising as he then turned to face where he sensed the danger was as he then fired off a web, where he then heard a soft clatter of some papers on the ground.

He then did the most reasonable thing and removed the blindfold, and he swore, Marshall on the ground, scowl on his face as he then said "Damn it Mars!" in a whisper yell kind of manner.

His curly haired friend then straightened himself, fixing his clothes as he then said "Connor, I don't like being shot at!" he whisper yelled back to his younger friend.

"Maybe you shouldn't sneak up on people."

"Maybe you should actually sleep!" he remarked to him, and he then moved to Connor, "Want to tell me why you are up at this godforsaken hour?"

Connor pursed his lips as he then said "Well... I had that same old dream again."

"Again? You mean this has happened before?"

Connor nods his head, "I just need to get over it okay?" he then removed the web shooters and put them away as he then moved to take the targets down as he admired the bulls-eyes he had gotten.

"Get over what exactly?" Marshall asked the younger male, folding his arms across his chest in an almost authoritarian manner.

"Nothing. Let's go to sleep now I am exhausted." eventually came Connor's reply, and he then began to walk past the male and head back to where they were sleeping.

Marshall sighed softly, "You can always talk to me, you know that right?" he asked his friend.

Connor froze as he spoke, and he shifted his head to look back to him, "I know... I just need to forget it is all..." was all he said before he then headed out to the room and he headed to lay down and fall back asleep.

The rest of his night was rather dreamless, and oddly comforting to him.

And he woke up freezing, as the blanket was hogged by the female, who was swaddled up in the blanket like an infant. Connor rubbed his arms to gain a semblance of warmth as he then looked to the female and sighed. "Blanket hog." he muttered under his breath as he got up and packed up what they needed.

He glanced to the duo and saw that the female had also managed to steal the blanket from Marshall as well, who was very notorious for hogging blankets.Β

Soon Marshall woke up, sitting upright as he stretched his arms a bit, "Wow. She is much worse than me." he joked, which illicited a slight chuckle from the younger male.

"Yeah she is." he spoke as he then said "Pack up. We have to go now."

Marshall nods and starts to pack as the female shifted as she woke up, "Is it time to go?" she asked the duo.

Connor nods, "Yes. We're heading back to my mother's... If she is still there." he remarked as he then smiled sheepishly as he then put his backpack on.

Soon after his statement, there was a soft clatter, and the trio stopped their movements, and Connor then waved to her as he reattached his web shooters to his wrists, "I am going ahead, Mars, help Elizabeth out of here... Get her back to the outskirts of town, I will catch up with you."

Marshall nodded as he then guided the female out of the room as Connor then headed out towards the origin of the sound, and he then held his arm out defensively.

He slowly approached the dimly lit room when his spider sense went off, and he instinctively leaned to the side, ducking into a roll as a projectile whisked past him, lodging itself into the wall behind him a few feet back.

Either it was a pellet or an arrow, Connor couldn't tell the difference as he then moved towards the origin, dodging several more of these projectiles as a distinct form of a person with a boy was placed, and he stretched an arm out to fire, managing to hit their hand, which was drawing yet another arrow with a deep grunt.Β

Connor knew he had to leave, so he rushed out towards the entrance where he saw two more figures. It was still too dark to tell whether they were young or old, except for the dim light that emitted from what seemed to be guantlets.

He then tapped the web shooters to kick in the magnetism, just in case that was electricity. One could never be too sure.Β

They met him halfway, and one of the figures threw a punch at Connor, who was not expecting that at all and he then felt the fist connect with his gut, and a slight shock ran through his body, and the young man hissed before he then punched them back, firing a few webs to subdue them before he dodged several more strikes due to spider sense.

"Wish I could stick around and play but time waits for no man." was all Connor said as he then shot several webs to obscure the doorway as he heard the front door open.

Connor caught up to the duo, who were seemingly stopped a few meters out of the warehouse, and he furrowed his brow, raising an arm to protect his eyes from the sun's harsh rays. Soon his eyes adjusted and he lowered his arm.

That is when he saw it.

There were several people aiming various weapons, mainly guns and bows at them as many more came out of the woods, "Damn." was all he said.

He looked to Marshall, who was nervous, and Elizabeth just had a forlorn look on her face.

There was a soft thud on the patch of grass behind him, and several more pairs of footsteps approaching, the trio he had encountered in the warehouse he assumed, and soon a voice spoke up from behind them.

"Well Chrissy," came a soft, yet familiar female voice, and his blood ran cold as he began to connect the dots, "It's been a long time. Mother missed you."

He turned his head slowly, and his eyes widened as he then licked his lips, "Liz."
