Through a dark forest in the continent of Anima, two familiar cloaked figures were trekking through, alone. One in a very familiar red cloak, with the hood over her head. The other however, had on a tattered black hooded coat and was walking behind the female, slightly turning to look at their surroundings. As they were getting closer to a cliff however, screams of terror could be heard in the distance.

When they came to a stop, they spotted a village in the distance, burning and surrounded by the creatures of Grimm. They looked up as there were two Giant Nevermores. The girl in the black cloak turned and spotted a third Nevermore, approaching. She looked towards the girl cloaked in red, who nodded. Holding her hand out to the side, her trusty weapon, Crescent Rose transformed into its signature Scythe mode while the other female took out a very familiar Blade.

With her grabbing the girl cloaked in black by the arm, the girl in red shot up into the air, alongside her, leaving behind a trail of rose petals before crashing down onto the incoming Nevermore's back, their weapons digging into its back as it screeched in pain and flew towards the Village.

The multiple Beowolves looked up, seeing the Nevermore writhe around in pain while in midair while the two girls rode on its back. With a single press of Crescent Rose's trigger, a bullet was fired, the recoil bringing the scythe back and ripping off the Nevermore's left wing. As it was going down, both girls jumped off of its back and landed side by side, the girl in red destroying a small statue in the meantime. As they stood up, they revealed themselves.

With her pulling her hood off of her head, Ruby Rose was revealed while the second girl completely discarded her cloak, as she felt that it made her body feel too hot due to it not being as free. With it now off, a pair of white Wolf Ears and a puffy white wolf tail appeared as Setsuna revealed herself, with both GN Long and Short Blades in her hands. The Beowolves slowly began to surround the two girls, stalking them and getting ready to pounce. However, the two would make the first move as they suddenly opened their eyes.

Ruby was the first to move, activating her Semblance, Petal Burst to dash quickly towards one Beowolf and quickly slicing it in two. Setsuna wasn't far behind, leaping off of the building's wall and shooting herself forwards as she thrusts the GN Long Blade forwards, stabbing a Beowolf in its chest before she slashed upwards, killing it instantly. As the Beowolves began their attack, Ruby and Setsuna began their counterattack, rapidly slicing as any that tried to get near them, while instantaneously pressing forwards and forwards. Ruby seemed very much at home, as she was quickly dispatching Beowolf after Beowolf with ease. But as for Setsuna on the other hand, she seemed out of her comfort zone. Using Dual Swords and not her signature Claw weapons meant that she had to adapt. Her swings were quite wide and not as fast as they hoped they'd be, but since her opponents were Beowolves, she was managing for now.

She briefly looked over towards Ruby, watching as she moved gracefully throughout the battlefield. The argent-eyed girl charged forwards before leaping into the air and spinning around, quickly slicing a Beowolf in half. Two more ran up to her, roaring aggressively as more began to surround both her and Setsuna. She looked towards the Arctic-Wolf Faunus.

Ruby: "Let's go, Setsuna!"

Setsuna: "R-Right!"

Instantly, the two began to bounce around the battlefield, slicing at each Beowolf with relative ease. It was obvious that Ruby was the faster one, but Setsuna was keeping up relatively well. However, the white-haired female suddenly gasped as she looked to the rooftop of the tallest building, seeing a Beowolf on top and tossing a large brick towards Ruby. Quickly, she gritted her teeth and dashed towards the female and slashed the brick, destroying it instantly.

Ruby: "Setsuna!"

Setsuna: "Look out!" The two quickly separated as more bricks were being thrown at them. The wolf Faunus instantly had a plan as she quickly sheathed the GN Short blade and held her hand out to Ruby. "Setsuna will launch you!"

Nodding, Ruby quickly grabbed her partner's arm. With Setsuna briefly activating her Semblance, her eyes glowing bright blue, she spun Ruby around at high speeds before sending her flying straight towards the top of that building. The Beowolf, seeing the young lady approach, threw a brick to try and stop her, but Ruby activated her Petal Burst and suddenly split into 3 separate segments, avoiding the Brick and ending up behind the Beowolf, with Crescent Rose's muzzle right at its head. She smirked and pulled the trigger, killing the Beowolf and sending her flying into a nearby Nevermore, before she quickly pushed herself off of it and landed on the ground next to Setsuna, cracking the ground and surrounding them in white smoke. The two stood back-to-back, waiting for any Grimm to come their way... Setsuna's eyes widened as she suddenly picked up a presence, but it was too late as a Grimm fist came into contact with Ruby, pushing her into Setsuna and sending the two flying through the tallest building's doors. The Grimm that had attacked them was known as a Beringel, a Grimm with the form of a large Gorilla. When they got up, they were surprised but quickly narrowed their eyes.

Ruby: "What is that thing???"

Setsuna: "I think... it's called a Beringel... They have tough armor and high strength. We need to be careful."

Ruby: "Got it! Eep! Here it comes!" she yelped.

She was right as the Beringel was charging the two at top speed before leaping towards them. While Ruby quickly jumped over it to dodge its attack, Setsuna backed away, enough to dodge out of its grasp before she thrusts GN Blades forwards, while Ruby went to strike its back with Crescent Rose. However, their weapons got stuck and the Beringel seemed unfazed. Setsuna gasped as the Beringel suddenly swatted her to the side before turning around and grabbing Ruby by the face before punching her in the gut, knocking her back.

The argent-eyed female grunted as she hit the wall of a building before she quickly jumped onto the roof and jumped to another building while converting Crescent Rose into Sniper form. She began to jump from rooftop to rooftop, all the white firing at the Beringel and two Beowolves that had joined up with it. She managed to strike one Beowolf as the other bullets bounced off of the Beringel, only annoying it further. Much to her surprise however, it suddenly grabbed onto the second Beowolf and tossed it right at her. Before it could hit her however, Setsuna quickly regrouped with her, striking down the Beowolf with the GN Short Blade. Before they could say anything however, the Beringel was already there, leaping into the air with its arms high above its head. They both backed away, just as it slammed down in front of them, where they went into a standoff.

Ruby: "Setsuna." the white-haired female looked back at her as the two were slowly moving in a circle, along with the Beringel. "Let's tag team it!" The Faunus quickly nodded.

Setsuna: "Right. Together!"

With the two nodding, they got to work. Ruby was the first to charge as the Beringel attempted to slam her with its arms, but she quickly leaped over and rapidly fired upon its back, getting its attention. As it turned to look at her, Setsuna charged, striking its back rapidly with the GN Blades. The Beringel roared in annoyance as it was about to turn to deal with her, only for Ruby to strike it again with Crescent Rose. The two were constantly striking it from both sides, sending the Beringel into a bit of an overwhelmed situation, but it was holding on, even forcing the two to block with their weapons and halting their assault. Setsuna quickly ended that by swinging the GN Long Blade horizontally, forcing the Gorilla Grimm to block with its arms. She had managed to buy enough time for Ruby to blitz up into the air with her Petal Burst before diving back down towards the Beringel. The Beringel was forced to block this strike as it was put on the defensive by the two girls attacking it, but it soon had enough and knocked them both back before leaping at them both. While they dodged the attack, the Beringel's arms slammed into the already weakened roof, causing it to crumble and sending the two girls crashing into the dark building.

Coming out victorious, the Beringel leaped back to solid ground and roared loudly before looking around for more victims. However, it suddenly heard some rustling behind it. Turning around, it saw multiple red and white rose petals slowly floating out of the tallest building's door, causing it to let out a loud roar. A swirl of red and white rose petals spiraled up the building's tower before bursting out of the glass window was none other than Ruby and Setsuna.

Swiftly, Setsuna pushed her feet up as Ruby planted hers on hers. With a yell, Setsuna kicked her feet, launching Ruby straight down to the Beringel, striking it and causing it to stumble slightly. She then hooked Crescent Rose's blade around one of its legs and fired a shot, tripping it instantly. As it was about to fall, Ruby quickly activated her Petal Burst and swirled around the entire Beringel, creating a vortex and sending it flying into the air.

Ruby: "NOW!!!"

With a roar, Setsuna activated her Semblance, Primal Fury, her eyes glowing brightly as she kicked herself off of the tallest building's wall and launched straight towards the Beringel. The Grimm saw her approaching and was about to raise its arms to block her, but it was too late as there was a single slice as with the broken moon in the background, Setsuna had decapitated the Beringel with the GN Long and Short Blades, causing it to disintegrate.

Once she landed, she deactivated her Semblance and fell to one knee, while panting heavily. She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked over, spotting Ruby looking at her and smiling. The Arctic-Wolf Faunus slightly laughed and gave a thumbs up. Immediately after however, Ruby's scroll began to ring. Upon taking it out, she saw that it was Jaune, Nora and Ren calling her.

Jaune: "Ruby! Setsuna! We saw smoke!"

Ren: "Heading your way."

Nora: "Don't start without us~!" The two looked at each other before looking towards the flock of Grimm approaching them, before they both smirked.

Ruby: "You better hurry."

With that statement, the two nodded before they charged back into battle together. As they were, however, Setsuna suddenly saw a flash in her memory, of the face of her longtime partner, her teammate from back in their Beacon Days... It made her clutch onto the blades that once belonged to him as she charged into battle with more determination than ever.

Setsuna's thoughts: "Akito..."
