▎STORYLINE ⦂ act two, the ink drops and stains in place of tears.
    ⵢ THE continuation of CRYPTIC's storyline
       follows ASHTON, the boy who suffers
       endless mind games from a heartbreak
       prior to getting trapped in the maze with
       the six other boys. whenever he cries, his
       tears turn to ink that when touched by
       someone who isn't him, burns them.
       struggling to come to terms with this, he
       wanders. stuck in his mind, running circles
       twenty-four seven, his decoded message
       remains as, "WHY DOES HEARTBREAK
       LEAVE SUCH PAIN?"

    ⵢ this song was hinted back during their
       debut album with PICASSO. it is a
       continuation of said song, displaying the
       emotions of PICASSO to his muse, DORA
       MAAR. it is a mini-storyline within the
       album that the company thought of prior
       to their debut. it is based on real people
       as well.

    ⵢ ASH agreed to release this song under
       one condition : ASHTON and JASON
       would be the ones to arrange it. the song
       is very personal to him, and he really only
       trusted his groupmates to make good
       decisions regarding who sings what lines.
       the company agreed, and after minor
       tweaking to the composition and many
       late-night meetings between JASON,
       ASHTON, and ASH, the song was perfected
       for CRYPTIC's discography.

▎FUN FACT ⦂ lyric reasoning ⸃⸃
    ⵢ when CRYPTIC was sent this composition,
       JASON and YAZHU mapped out the entire
       song and sectioned it into its parts, deciding
       on the theme and general structure. ASHTON
       and SHAWN wrote the majority of the rap
       lyrics, while MARCUS and MINJAE provided
       input on the melody so that it would better fit
       their range. the four of them then begged
       ASH to sing the guide version, which he
       eventually agreed to, and then proceeded to
       use his knowledge of his members' voices to
       arrange the parts as well.
