"Kamari, are you okay?" Neteyam checks on her as they fly through a rough storm. The waves lick the rocks beside them as they crash higher and higher up. "Kamari?"

"Yes." Kamari breathes out, focusing on all the sounds around them. Focusing on the waves she lets one hand slip on Neteyam as she finally glances down.

"Kamari!" Neteyam chastises, hastily reaching back to bring her hand back to him.

"Pey." She says, squeezing his torso that she had her other arm wrapped around and Neteyam instantly pulls his arm back to her thigh to hold her in place. Their skin scorches against one another, but neither of them can explain the tiny pricks of energy sparks they feel pressed against each others bodies, nor do they want to think about it for too long... Both afraid to put too much thought into it... or admit it out loud.

Kamari lays her palm flat, closing her eyes she spreads her fingers out wide before raising her palm and abruptly pushing it back down. She repeats the motion again, each time doing the action slower and slower until the waves calm down entirely.

Neytiri glances up from whispering to Tuk, eyes connecting with Jakes as he squints in the rain before they both look behind them, watching the glowing girls skin light up as leans her head back feeling the droplets against her face while she gracefully circles her arm over her head until the rain dies down, almost stopping entirely leaving only a light drizzle.

Neteyam blinks up at sky, pride and awe swelling in his chest at Kamari had just done as Tuk bounces in front of Neytiri drawing her attention forward once again.

"Look mom, the rain stopped!" Tuk brightens up, no longer shivering.

Jake pulls his attention back to flying as well, and he couldn't be more grateful for Kamari for once again protecting their family.

Though he never doubted it or thought otherwise for a second, he knew bringing her with them was the right decision. The only decision actually.

"Thank you." Neteyam swallows nervously, her palm spreading warmth throughout his whole body and he unclenches his jaw to stop him from shivering, afraid it would make him look weak to Kamari.

She nods, resting her head on his back, and the last thing she could feel before drifting off knowing she was safe with Neteyam and his Ikran was his heart racing.

Kamari gazes over Neteyam's arm at the beauty of the crystal clear blue ocean below. She wasn't sure she's ever seen anything so clear, it almost hurt her eyes. She watches the sea animals swim by, sure they too would reject her like the unclaimed Ikrans, as all the animals in the forest did.

The sea clans are a world unto themselves. Thousands of islands. An unknown territory into which we could just vanish without a trace.

"Are we there yet?" Tuk asks, waking up to find they were still flying.

Kamari wondered the same but does not voice it. She simply watches the scenery below them, waves crashing onto large tree root paths, when suddenly she hears cheerful hooting and tenses. They made it.

A horn sounds prompting her to cling tighter to Neteyam's and he immediately tries to think of way to comfort her, his chest aching at her discomfort. The Ikrans thrill as the horn continues, Kamari's heart pounding as they swing down to land in the sand.

Tuk's the first to hop off Neytiri's Ikran, the rest of the Sully's slowing sliding off theirs. Neteyam cautiously holds out his hand for Kamari to help her down, noticing her eyes widely bouncing around every which direction.

"It's okay." He whispers, licking his lips. "I'm nervous too."

Kamari hesitantly takes his hand to climb down, feeling more worry that nerves as she does. Well if he was worried she was worried, though his worry for her.

"Hey." Jake says lowly, looking at Neytiri grabbing her bow. "Leave it. On me." He turns to everyone else as Neytiri puts her bow back on Ikran.

"Tuk." Neytiri holds out her hand for the youngest as they begin walking towards the clan.

"Be nice." Jake comments, holding his arms out. Neteyam watches his dad carefully, making sure his arms are out from his sides. Kamari drags her feet closely behind him, staying beside Kiri.

"Who are they?" Tuk whispers.

"Be nice." Neytiri echo's her husband, glancing over her shoulder.

Kamari begins to panic as some of the clan starts walking closer to them, staring, eyeing them up and down. Kiri pulls her shawl in closer to her.

Neteyam and Lo'ak greet a couple of the boys that appear around their age, gesturing their hand from their forehead, but are only given strange looks.

"Easy. Just be cool." Jake speaks calmy and Kamari tries to focus on his voice and her breathing to not hyperventilate in front of an unknown clan full of strangers.

"Look. What is that." The shorter of the two boys says, pointing at Neteyam and Lo'ak's backs. "Is that supposed to be a tail?" They all chuckle causing Kamari's brows to scrunch together. "It's too small. How are they supposed to swim?" The boy continues pointing, and Kamari doesn't like it. At all.

"Do not." One of the girls from the clan approaches from the water, slapping her fellow clan member's hand away. "Rotxo, Aonung." She sighs at them and Kamari's relieved she appeared. She seemed to be around her their age as well.

"Hey." Lo'ak nods at her earning a soft chuckle.

Suddenly, chanting sounds behind them and Kamari jumps, bumping into Kiri as three sea clan members fly up and over their heads and the entire Sully family ducks as they pass. Kiri leans into Kamari, and for once the latter doesn't mind the close proximity to another person, though she's not sure she can still feel that way after being as close as she has to Neteyam the past few days...

The sea clan members land their animals in the water, and Kamari deems those are their sea Ikrans. The large man grunts before walking out of the water gripping his spear.

Tonowari was the chief of the Metkayina, the Reef People.

Hello, hellooo... long time no see, huh???

Wow, I cannot believe I have not touched this book since LAST YEAR?!?! I cannot apologize enough for just dropping off the face of the earth from this book lmao, & I cannot thank y'all enough for the amount of support y'all were giving before I did!! I got busy with college & was not able to update weekly anymore, & ran out of chapters written up ahead, then truthfully I just worked on other projects...

Happy 2 years to this movie, yes 2 YEARS!! I cannot believe it!! Time is absolutely NOT real... this movie feels like a fever dream, like it came out ten years ago... haha, that may be dramatic but it feels like another lifetime ago!!
