9. Puddings, Poems, and Plans
"Chances are you've met some boys from the Academy by now. The Crown Lake boys treasure hunt is soon. The Crown Lake Damseis aren't usually invited to join, but you are different, aren't you? It would be best if you went all out to support your favourite scavenger hunt team, you'll get instead cred."
The courtyard was bathed in a warm, golden glow as Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Jieun sat around a small table.
The air was filled with a sense of tranquillity and peace, and a moment of serenity enveloped them.
They had just finished a palatial lunch and were now in the throes of relaxation. Suddenly, Sunghoon put down his spoon and cleared his throat.
The air grew tense, and a sense of anticipation filled the courtyard. "Guys, I have a problem," Sunghoon said, his voice low and serious.
"I'm writing a poem for the open mic night, and I'm stuck on a couplet. I need your help." He pulled out a crumpled piece of paper and looked at them, his eyes pleading.
Jungwon and Jieun leaned in closer, eager to help. Sunghoon recited the lines he was having trouble with: "In the twilight's gentle embrace, shadows dance, leaving no trace." Jungwon nodded his head in agreement, admiring the imagery.
However, Jieun furrowed her brow, her mind working furiously. There was something not quite right about the words Sunghoon had chosen.
After a few moments of silence, Jieun spoke up. "I see what you mean about the rhythm, Sunghoon.
It's a bit off. How about trying something like, 'In twilight's tender hold, shadows pirouette, leaving stories untold'?"
Sunghoon's eyes lit up with appreciation. "That sounds much better! Thanks, Jieun. What do you think, Jungwon?" he asked. Jungwon nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, it flows more smoothly now. Great suggestion, Jieun." Sunghoon beamed with pride as he crossed out the old lines on the paper and wrote in the new ones. "You guys are the best," he said, looking at his friends with gratitude.
The three of them sat in comfortable silence for a few more moments, enjoying the warm sun and the peaceful atmosphere of the courtyard. However, their peace was soon interrupted when Jieun spoke up.
"Speaking of adventures, have you guys heard about the upcoming treasure hunt event?" she asked, her eyes alight with excitement.
Sunghoon and Jungwon exchanged knowing glances and shared a mischievous smile.
"Oh, you mean the Crown Lake Quest? We were just about to discuss forming a team," Sunghoon replied, stirring his chocolate pudding thoughtfully.
Jungwon nodded in agreement. "It's a campus tradition. A mix of clues, puzzles, and hidden treasures. Are you interested, Jieun?"
Jieun's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "Absolutely! I've heard it's a blast. Count me in!" Sunghoon grinned, and Jungwon added, "It's going to be a challenge, but with you on our team, we might just crack the code."
Jieun chuckled. "I'm up for the challenge. Let's make it the best team Crown Lake has ever seen!"
"What about the others though? Aren't they going to participate?" she asked perplexedly.
"Oh, they already made a team together. Heeseung Hyung chose Jay, Sunoo and Ni-ki as his teammates, I'm pretty sure they've already planned their strategies for the scavenger hunt. Ni-ki is good at mind games." Sunghoon replied to her.
The three of them delved into plans for the upcoming adventure, their excitement growing with each passing moment.
But there was something else in the air, something that they couldn't quite put their finger on.
The courtyard seemed to be filled with a strange energy, a sense of unease, and foreboding.
The birds had stopped singing, and the air was thick with an unspoken tension. As they talked, they began to feel as if they were being watched, as if there was something just out of sight, lurking in the shadows.
As the sun began to set and the sky turned a deep shade of orange, the three of them finally stood up to leave.
They hugged each other tightly, still buzzing with excitement and anticipation for the upcoming adventure. "See you tomorrow," Sunghoon and Jungwon said, waving goodbye to Jieun.
Jieun nodded in agreement. "Can't wait!" they said in unison. And with that, they went their separate ways, each one looking forward to the Crown Lake Quest and the many adventures that lay ahead.
The night was dark, and the moon was nowhere to be seen. The campus was silent, and the only sound was the rustling of leaves in the wind.
The streetlights cast eerie shadows, and the buildings seemed to take on a sinister appearance.
Jungwon was walking towards his dorm room when he heard a sound behind him. He spun around, but there was no one there.
He shrugged it off and continued walking, but the feeling of being watched persisted. Suddenly, a hand reached out from the shadows and grabbed his shoulder.
Jungwon gasped in terror and tried to break free, but the grip was too strong. He turned around, and to his surprise, he saw Heeseung standing there. "What's wrong, Wonnie?" Heeseung asked concern etched on his face.
Jungwon let out a sigh of relief. "Nothing, I thought I heard something," he said, still a little shaken. Heeseung nodded understandingly.
"I know what you mean. I felt the same way. There's something strange going on," he said, looking around warily.

It was a day before the treasure hunt, and the whole school was brimming with excitement.
The courtyard was buzzing with chatter and laughter as students discussed their strategies for the upcoming hunt.
But there was something different about the group of friends huddled together under the dappled sunlight in the corner.
Jieun, Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Jake were determined to win the hunt, but something was off.
As they brainstormed ideas, scribbled notes, and unfolded maps, the group felt a strange energy in the air.
It was as if they were being watched, as if there was something just out of sight, waiting to pounce. They couldn't shake off the feeling, no matter how hard they tried.
Jake, with his knack for decoding clues, suggested, "We should focus on the historical landmarks. The clues might be tied to the school's past."
Sunghoon nodded in agreement, "Great point. And we can split into pairs to cover more ground quickly."
Jungwon added, "I heard there might be riddles involved. Maybe we should brush up on some classic ones?"
As they refined their strategy, they couldn't help but feel that something was amiss. The strange feeling in the air was only getting stronger, and they were starting to get paranoid.
They felt as if they were being watched, and they didn't know who or what was behind it.
"Guys..... Don't you feel like someone is keeping an eye on us? As if they're watching our every movement?" Jieun questioned looking at them worriedly,
"I feel so too, ever since I left my dorm I felt like someone was watching me. Jay and Ni-ki said they felt the same since last night."
Jake said looking around warily to see if someone was watching them "We've got this, guys. It's going to be legendary." Jungwon said trying to shake off the feeling.
But as they talked, they began to realize that something was seriously wrong. They couldn't shake off the weird feeling that they were being stalked, and the more they talked, the stronger the feeling became.
"Strange.... Who would keep an eye on us?" Jungwon pondered to himself. "Let's not worry much about it guys, we should get into our dorm. It's getting late." Sunghoon said looking at his watch.
The group agreed, and they all walked together back into the Crown Lake Academy. But the strange feeling was still enveloping them.
As they walked towards the entrance, they couldn't help but feel as if they were being followed.
The shadows seemed to be closing in around them, and they hurried their pace. Finally, they reached inside the old building, and the group let out a collective sigh of relief.
But the feeling of unease didn't go away. It was as if the strange energy had followed them inside, and they couldn't shake it off.
Jieun was the first to speak up, "Guys, do you think someone is trying to sabotage our treasure hunt?" Jake shook his head, "I don't know, but we need to be careful."
Sunghoon was quick to add, "Maybe we should stick together during the hunt. That way, we can keep an eye on each other and not get separated."
Jungwon nodded in agreement, "That's a good idea. We need to be prepared for anything."As they talked, they realized that they needed to be more careful than ever.
The treasure hunt was going to be more than just a fun activity. They needed to be on their guard and watch out for anything suspicious.
The group went to bed that night, each one still feeling the strange energy in the air. They tried to shake it off, but it was no use. It was as if the feeling had become a part of them, and they couldn't escape it.
