location: amara and jasmine's flat- london

"yo mars can you get the door? i'm getting ready for my date." jasmine shouted to amara, trying to ignore the insistent knocking at the door and instead focus on getting ready.

"of course jas. also i'm so excited for your date!" amara exclaimed, "you better tell me every detail when you get back."

"of course mara," jasmine stated softly, "now will you please get the door?!" she shouted, laughing at amara when she jumped up in fear.

"yes i will... bitch," amara mumbled the last bit under her breath, scared that jasmine might hear her. as the knocking ensued, she found herself getting more frustrated and eventually shouting at the person at the other side of the door, " alright man! i'm getting to you. jeez."

as she opened the door, her eyes widened at the person who was staring back at her.

"hi amara. i need to talk to you."

"hey dave....really wasn't expecting you today. or anyone for that matter. now i feel really underdressed." amara muttered softly, while guiding dave to the living room.

"no m, you look great don't worry. plus it's not like i planned to come over. it was kind of a spur of the moment type thing." dave claimed, while admiring how beautiful amara looked, even when she wasn't trying. he soon scolded himself for doing so, knowing he had a girlfriend and subsequently lowered his gaze.

" so...what did you want to talk to me about. you scared me when you came to the door. talking bout some, we need to talk. a lot of flashbacks came with that sentence." she said as she chuckled, trying to alleviate the tension between the two.

"i...i wanted to say sorry." david mumbled, avoiding amara's eyes.

"i'm sorry what was that?" she said teasingly. she had heard him perfectly.

"i'm sorry for not listening to you about ruby. you were fair in not giving her the benefit of the doubt." dave admitted, softly smiling at amara and moving his gaze up to meet her gaze.

"wow. i never thought i'd see the day you admitted you were sorry and that i was right. i feel honoured. i mean if you told me yesterday that the david omergie was gonna apologise to me, i would've laughed in your face." she taunted, smirking at him.

"you're enjoying this way too much, aren't you?" dave joked, moving across the sofa to be closer to her.

"i definitely am." she teased back at him, smirking and inching closer towards him....until she remembered he had a girlfriend. as horrible ruby was as a friend, amara couldn't do that to someone. she couldn't do that to another girl. she knew the pain she felt and even though it was at the hands of said girlfriend, she still couldn't do that to her, let alone anyone else.

so she cleared her throat, and instead talking teasingly she addressed dave rather practically, "so why exactly are you sorry?"

"michael told me about what happened after you left the bar. i'm so sorry she said all of that to you. she isn't better than you...woah that came out wrong. what i meant was-"

"i know what you meant dave." she interrupted softly, a small smile on her face.

"i just can't believe she would say that to you. well i should've believed it since you did warn me. and i'm sorry i didn't listen."

"it's ok dave. it's not like i'm gonna hold it over your head forever. especially since you've apologised." amara comforted gently. "but i am confused. does this mean that you've ended it with her?" she questioned, trying to hide the glimmer of hope in her voice.

"no. not yet. i was too pissed off when i talked to her about it. but i think i'm gonna end it. not only was she rude to you...my...friend,"  dave admitted, while blushing, "but she was horrible to everyone at the bar, and she lied to me about all of it. and then tried to gaslight me into believing otherwise! bottom line is, i'm sorry. i should've listened to you because you're a good friend."

amara tried to hide her disappointment when he described her as only a friend, as she hoped he felt more. yet she knew even if he did, he'd still have to end it with ruby first. so she inquired, " when you talk to her, can you ask her why she's so obsessed with me."

"sure yeah i can." dave said chuckling, "but are you sure she's as obsessed as you say."

"oh trust me, she is. in fact check insta. i've been tagged so many times in that post."

as he left amara's flat, dave found himself very glad he finally cleared the air with amara. he didn't like to admit it but the 3 weeks/ 1 month that they were avoiding each other,were hard on him. he had grown so used to getting to know amara more, that when that all ceased, he felt that it was weird not talking to her.

he was also happy that he could finally see ruby for what she truly was: a fake, horrible person.

( and when my eyes are closed, i can finally see you for what you truly are. which is ooglayyy ).

and if he was honest with himself, he realised within the first week that ruby may not be the most genuine person in the world. however, he chose to push past it because he felt as if he had strained many friendships, so he had to see it through.

he was very wrong. his breakup plan was completely mapped out and organised when....

dave wished he could say that he felt said about the end of their relationship, but he didn't. it had only lasted a month and he realised he only found her attractive, never mind the fact her personality completely removed any feelings he could've had for her. so instead, he felt relieved he'd ended the relationship. yet, he felt a nagging feeling at the back of his head, a thought that made his chest tighten.

there was the possibility he liked amara, and to his knowledge, a possibility that she liked his friend, michael.

i didn't update as soon as i thought because i was in london for the last week so didn't get to finish this chapter

also dave finally broke up with the witch ( sorry i meant bitch ). but dw she'll be back.

also this means we get to see a jealous dave, and some tension.

i don't want dave and amara to get together too soon so sorry guys you'll have to wait a bit. it won't be too long but dave has to graft and also i want more buildup.
