FROM THE FIRST SECOND TAEHYUNG LAYS EYES ON HIM, HE KNOWS HE'S IN LOVE.

All the signs are there– sweaty palms, his pounding heart, the heat in his cheeks and the inability to breathe or speak when this boy so much as looks in his direction.

Taehyung has to look away from him to fill his lungs with some much-needed oxygen. He quickly makes his way up the stairs and away from the lobby, away from the one that can turn his insides to mush and fill his stomach with butterflies without even knowing he can.

Resting his forehead against his apartment door, Taehyung attempts to compose himself, tries to calm those butterflies, as well as his fluttering heart.

Taehyung has never felt this way before about anybody. Does he really want to let this feeling go? Perhaps he should go back and talk–

"Are you okay?" Comes a voice from behind that slices through Taehyung's thoughts and makes him whirl around, widened eyes full of confusion.

Taehyung thinks his heart might explode when he sees those twinkling brown eyes full of stars.

"Sorry to startle you," the owner of said eyes says softly, setting the box in his hands down on the stair-rail. "Is that your apartment?"

Taehyung checks just to make sure it is (and of course it is) before nodding quickly. The boy smiles with his soft white bunny-like teeth at Taehyung's apparent nervousness and points to the door beside Taehyung's.

"Well that makes us neighbors, because I'm moving right in there." Taehyung's eyes follow to where he's pointing. "My name is Jungkook."

Taehyung's eyes find their way back to 'Jungkook', a pink tint surely dusting his cheeks. "I- I'm Taehyung," he almost whispers as Jungkook picks the box back up. "Do you want some help with your things?"

Jungkook shrugs. "Only if you want to, neighbor," he replies with that same, friendly smile; one that Taehyung cannot possibly help but to return.

And so, with the two standing there, face-to-face in the hallway, it begins.
