i looked around my backyard at the setup i had put together for the movie night.

several of my closest friends had gathered, some sitting on the grass and others lounging on the deck chairs with blankets and pillows.

a projector sat angled at the blank wall, waiting for the movie to start.

the night was warm, and a cool breeze floated through the air as the sun began to set.

i settled down on a plush mattress next to drew, feeling the soft fabric under me. we were cuddled close as the crowd slowly quieted down in anticipation of the movie.

drew draped his arm over my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. i leaned into his touch, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity wash over me.
