i sat next to drew and alexa as we were attending day two of the venice film festival. it felt good to not be the one in the hot seat and instead to watch.

i sipped my coffee, my eyes scanning the room. there was a buzz of excitement in the air as photographers snapped pictures and film crews recorded clips from the event.

alexa was chatting animatedly next to me, her energy and enthusiasm was infectious.

my eyes flicked over to drew, who was quietly sipping his espresso. he had been pretty quiet all morning, seemingly lost in thought.

"hey," i said softly, poking his leg. he snapped out of his thoughts and looked over at me. "you okay?" i asked, studying his face.

he smiled warmly and nodded. "yeah, i'm fine. just thinkin.'" he said, reaching over and squeezing my hand lightly.

i squeezed his hand back, feeling a wave of affection wash over me. "anything you wanna share?" i asked, trying to get a read on what he was thinking about.

he shook his head, a small smile still on his lips. "nah, it's nothing. just mulling last night over."

i tilted my head, curious. "last night?" i repeated. my mind instantly went back to us in my hotel room.

he chuckled, his fingers brushing gently over the skin of my hand. "yeah, last night." his voice was low, the implication clear.

i felt my cheeks flush, the memory of our passionate encounter flooding my mind. i tried to keep a neutral face, not wanting the other people in the room to know what transpired.

i couldn't help but notice his gaze flickering down to my lips again, a hint of a smirk on his face. he knew the effect he had on me.

i shifted in my seat, trying to compose myself. it was so easy for him to make me forget everything else around us, to get so caught up in him.

"you're doing that on purpose, aren't you." i accused, my voice playful.

he chuckled again, his thumb lightly circling a spot on my wrist. "i don't know what you're talking about." he said innocently, a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
