MONSTROUS.
006. | ❛ they're the captains.

"We have the amulet. Now what?" The JSA asked while Crystal touched it after the mission gone wrong.

"First priority is making sure Ray and Amaya are alive, and then getting them out of the bunker where the Nazis are holding them."

"Actually, our first priority is destroying the Baron and whatever serum is making him indestructible."

"So you don't care if your teammate and ours are dead?" Crystal asked putting the amulet back in its place.

"Perhaps we could propose a trade. Their lives for the Amulet."

"Unfortunately, the amulet's not ours to barter with."

"We need an extraction plan." Crystal demanded with Rex going completely against her plan.

"We need to eliminate the threat. Now, Professor Stein, please, tell us, what is your plan of action?"

"How... how am I supposed to come up with a plan when I can't even hear myself think? Would... would you please all just leave? I... I need a moment to collect my thoughts." All who were gathered left Martin by himself while Sara and Crystal remained with the JSA, who were being one-sided and not caring of Ray and Amaya.

"And we approach from the southwest, destroy the weapons lab and the Baron in one move." Rex laid out the plan of attack with Crystal and Sara weary of his plan.

"Except for the last time we faced him, he took out both of our teams." Sara reminded him.

"The last time, we weren't being backed by a squadron of B-17s."

"Then how do we get Ray and Amaya out before the bombs start falling?" Crystal asked going over his plan once more in her mind, and none of it matched up with their rescue.

"We don't. This conflict is bigger than any one of us. If it means ending the war one day sooner, Amaya would happily make that sacrifice."

"But she doesn't have to. Look, I know you and your team think we're a group of irresponsible losers, but I know Ray Palmer, and he has a plan to get out of that bunker." Crystal faced Rex who held his stern face.

"We just need to give him time..." Sara added on.

"Which means giving the Nazis time. I'm calling in the strike." Rex went past Crystal and Sara, who placed her hand in his chest, stopping f him from proceeding forward.

"We can't let you do that." Sara said as they let go.

"You don't have the authority." Rex reminded them before Martin turned around.

"Yes, they does. Miss Lance and Miss Pierce-Snart speaks for all of us. I have watched them become the beating heart and steady hand of this team. They are the proper people to lead us, as co captains. And if they say that we are going to rescue our people, that is what we are going to do." Martin confirmed with Sara and Crystal smiling towards Martin and Rex managing a straight face, with that both captains made their way to inform the teams what the plan was.

Underground was certainly more of a tight knit area, barely enough space to attack but for Mick, Sara, and Crystal it was enough to leave them unconscious. While Sara used her staff to attack, Crystal used her hands punching and kicking them straight in the face. Sara's League of Assassins training was one that Crystal was still getting accustomed to, training with the White Canary improved her skills as an Hunter. While they finished attacking the Nazis, no sign of Ray and Amaya were found.

"We still need to find Ray and Amaya." Crystal said proceeding forward and turning the corner they saw soldier along with their friends.

"Mick, look out!" The gunfire started letting Ray and Amaya to attack the soldiers. Crystal took leaned forward and punched the guy out. Crystal hugged Ray, as he held her close to him as well before separating.

"Thanks, Haircut." Mick said.

"I believe this belongs to you." Sara handed Amaya back her amulet as they walked to continue the fight on the ground.

"Steel, Mid-Nite, we've recovered the rest of the team." Crystal spoke to her comms.

"I suggest you save the teary reunion for later. Hourman ordered the bombers to strike. They're five minutes out."

Sara, Crystal, Martin, and Commander Steel stood in the Medbay looking at Nate who was losing blood due to the bomb being dropped near him and his grandpa. Commander Steel was frightened seeing that his vitals were dropping.

"I'm afraid Mr. Heywood's vitals are dropping." Gideon informed them watching and seeing that his blood wasn't clotting.

"There's got to be something on board this tub to get him back on his feet. You people are from the future, for God's sake!"

"The bomb blast caused massive internal bleeding, and because his body lacks the normal clotting factor, there's only so much Gideon can do!" Martin screamed at Commander Steel while they let Gideon attend to his wounds.

"I think I can save him, with this." Ray burst into the room showing the serum to them before injecting it into Nate's wrist.

"Is that the Nazi serum that created that hideous berserker? Are you mad?" Martin asked

"I did a little tinkering tothe formula, so..."

"So what will it do now?" Crystal asked seeing what the serum was going to do.

"With any luck, save his life."

"How do we know if it's working?" Steel looked on.

"He's not dead yet, so that's a good sign."

"And he's not turning into a Nazi berserker." Sara commented watching Gideon displaying his vitals.

"His vitals are improving. He's stabilizing." Martin pointed out watching the red zone disappear and now blue, to display that his body was accepting the serum and saving his life.

"What'd the Nazis want with a piece of jewelry anyway?" Mick asked Rex who was examining the amulet himself.

"No idea. Hitler's known to be obsessed with the strange. We'll keep it safe, in any case."

"I guess that's your way of saying thanks."

"Right, well, I think it's time we got out of 1942." Crystal clapped her hands together with Sara smiling alongside her.

"This was fun."

"It was unusual." Rex turned away from them as Sara and Crystal talked to themselves.

"Where are we off to next, Co- Captain?" Sara asked Crystal, who smiled back at her beamingly. Crystal was now captain alongside Sara, and her smile reflected the happiness that she felt. At that moment, she forget most things. How Rip had disappeared, Leonard had died, Savage and the Time Masters, and all the battles they had fought. She stood proud and tall wondering what their next move would be, and Crystal smiled back at Sara once again. A smile that could light up a million suns, and weirdly enough Crystal felt like she was being watched from above. Like her path was illuminated by Leonard.

"That depends, because we go wherever history needs us. You can't forget that we are Time Masters."
