FLASHBACK
Caroline sat in the room anxiously waiting for time to run out but it seemed to go slower in the therapist office. Taking Phil's advice Caroline thought it wouldn't be a horrible idea to let out what she had locked up for years. This therapist was an employee of Shield who attended and treated agents who had special powers or inhumans. Not being able to talk to Peggy as much was certainly lonely because she was the only one who knew the whole story.
The therapist looked at Caroline who tried her hardest to avoid any eye contact.
"Miss. Kingsley, this only works when you start to open up."
After a long silence with neither uttering a word, the therapist took the first step asking a simple question, "Who is it?"
"Who's what?" Confused a what she meant finally made contact with the therapist.
"Who are you here for?"
"What makes it seem that I'm here for someone?" Caroline asked lounging back on the couch.
"From observation, you've touched the necklace around your neck about 10 times. I can assume that they're dog tags by the way they rattle. So my question is, who is it?"
Caroline was impressed by the therapist observation at her movements. She knew that getting professional help would be better than talking to a friend because a professional could diagnosis exactly what the person is holding onto or what they are trying to leave behind.
"His name is Steve and the other one is Bucky."
"Friends?"
"Well Bucky is my friend but Steve was something else. He was my everything."
The therapist made sure that Caroline felt safe for her to go on, and simply gave a warm nod. Caroline gulped waiting to see what she would say about Steve. How he was a gentlemen and would always put her feelings first. Or that he was the one that comforted her every time a date had gone wrong.
"He was Romeo and I was Juliet, without Juliet dying."

PRESENT
When they got back from the mission, Caroline spent must of the while looking for Steve. When she found him it seemed like he was avoiding her.
"Steve, please wait." She said but by the looks of it Steve didn't want to wait. Caroline used her speed to stand right in front of him which easily surprised him.
"How did you-" Steve seemed stuck in his words trying to understand what just happened.
"Why are you avoiding me? Did I do something wrong?" Caroline asked feeling ignored when she should feel loved by the person she waited her whole life for.
"No. You didn't do anything wrong. You grew into yourself. You've become different."
"Different?" Caroline was shocked because she never heard that word be use to describe herself.
"Not in that way. It's just that you've become this strong, confident person that I adored about your personality."
"But," Caroline added on knowing that Steve was going to say something negative.
"There is a whole part of your life that I wasn't apart of. A part that I missed because of the stupid ice. And if we could go back, I would've done things differently." Steve had a lump in his throat stopping him from going further.
"Like what?"
What wouldn't he have done? He would've done anything and everything if it meant having a future with Caroline.
"I would've bought a house for us in Brooklyn. Proposed in the big way that you wanted. Have a child. Our own little Steve or Care running around. And you wouldn't have had to reverted to turn into a-"
"Vampire." Caroline finished for him knowing that it was hard for anybody to say.
"But if I didn't take it then I wouldn't be here with you."
"Has Shield never tried to revert it?" Steve asked
"Shield didn't turn me into a vampire. A vampire turned me into one. I've tried to look for it but the cure to vampirism is a myth. If it was real, I would be happy to drink it and be able to live a happy human life."
The two sat in silence not really sure how to move the conversation on. But Steve had a lot of questions about everything. Caroline more than nothing wanted to answer those questions because she knew that he deserved to know how the world and Caroline changed.
"Did you ever regret the decision you made? Of turning into a vampire?"
"At times. But the thing I regretted was that I erased my memories of you." Caroline said with shame closing her eyes not wanting to imagine Steve's reaction.
"My emotions were heightened so the pain that I felt was unbearable than it was before. But Peggy and Howard kept making subtle hints at our relationship. After a month of not having those memories, I asked for them back. Everything hurt but I had the memories that adored of you."
Steve stayed silent with Caroline knowing that the conversation was over, picked herself off the bed and made her way out the door.
"You regretted the decision. That's all that matters. You regretted it and I'm happy that you did."
After their talk, the two went upstairs to go to the conference room to talk about Loki. Steve and Caroline sat next to one another with the team.
"He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Bruce formulated a small grin on his face.
"Loki's gonna drag this out...so" Steve lifted his head up at Thor,
"Thor, what's his play?"
"He has an army called the Chitauri, but none of Asgard nor any world known of I. He means to lead them against your people, they will win him the Earth."
Caroline grabbed Steve's hand and he couldn't help but blush, the touch of her would never grow on him. He waited so long for her touch and now that he had it, it felt strange to him. His eyes diverted to Caroline who had on a smile which made one appear on his face.
The two turned back to Thor, "In return, I suspect for the Tesseract."
"An army? From outer space? Wow it's almost as good as my vampire story." Caroline chirped and not getting an laugh from the rest of the group.
Bruce took of his glasses," So he's building another portal, that's what he needs Erik Selvig for."
"Selvig?"
"He's an astrophysicist," Bruce explained.
"He's a friend," Thor corrected him.
"Loki has them under some kind of spell, along with one of ours." Natasha referred to her other best friend Clint Barton.
"I wanna know why Loki let us take him," Caroline nodded agreeing with Steve on that point," He's not leading an army from here."
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki, that guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him."
"Have care how you speak, Loki is beyond reason but he is of Asgard... and he is my brother," Thor told him.
"He killed eighty people in two day," Natasha cut in.
"He's adopted," Thor replied,
"I think it's about the mechanics," Bruce started again," Iridium, what do they need the Iridium for?"
"It's a stabilizing, Agent," Tony walked in, followed by Phil and Violet. Tony started to explain somethin, quietly, to Phil, and they parted, making their way around the table.
"Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at SHIELD," Tony walked past Thor ," No hard feelings, Point Break, You've got a mean swing, Also, the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long as Loki wants," he walked over to the center of the room, where Fury usually stands.
"Uh, raise the mid- mast, ship the top sails," all workers stopped what they were doing and stared at him, " That man is playing Galaga!" he pointed," Thought we wouldn't notice, but we did" He put his left hand over his eye, " How does Fury even see these?"
"He turns."
