EXIT WOUNDS.
009. | ❛ i hate that name.

THE TEAM HAD NO TIME TO LOSE, AND DEFINITELY NO TIME TO ARGUE WITH MILA ON HER ACCOMPANYING THEM TO WAKANDA. SURELY, HER PROTESTS WERE HEARD BY THE AVENGERS; BUT TONY SAW HER ABILITY AS AN ADVANTAGE TO TAKE DOWN ULTRON BEFORE IT TURNED WORSE. Nervously, she sat next to Steve on the so called Quinjet. Her leg spurted up and down rapidly that it could put some in a trance if looked at for so long. Her eyes were focused on the ground, not for a split second looking somewhere else.

Mila hadn't ever been in a plane with such velocity; correction, she's never actually been on a plane before. A small part of her was happy that she wasn't puking at the given moment. Her hands trembled against her shaking legs, and with some air turbulence that made Mila grab onto the nearest thing that would stabilize her; that being Steve and Bruce who were right next to her. Latching and hooking her hands around them, squeezing them tighter if any other disturbance hit the jet.

"So I can take it that you've never flown before?" Steve asked the trembling girl, who took it upon her to close her eyes until they arrived at their destination. Mila nodded at her response feeling that if she did speak, the only thing that would come out would be puke; and she wouldn't embarrass herself in front of the only people that can help her, because she knew that they would hold it against her.

"Mila, can you loosen your grip on my arm? I'm losing blood circulation in my left arm." Bruce informed her and she quickly let her arm slip out of his. There was a melancholy look on his face at the sign of her withdrawal of human touch. His comment didn't intend for her to detach herself completely. With her arm brushed up against his, not only did she feel safe but he did as well.

"Steve, when are we—" Mila cut herself off at the sign of air turbulence again, this time gripping with all her force on the soldier's arm. Steve simply patted her back, trying to calm her down the best he could; he couldn't turn her away because for a weird feeling, he felt that Mila had a similar story to his and sympathetic in her clause.

"We're almost there, Mila." He brushed her hair back and quietly whispered in her ear, "Don't worry,  you won't be in any danger."

Mila looked into his eyes and saw the truth in his words, but life had taught her that most things didn't go her way. She nodded slightly before turning back to face the one man that had isolated himself once again in the far off corner.

She felt a sudden urge to go to Bruce, a man who had been so welcoming to her and interested and invested in her story. Her fear kept her from taking the steps necessary to reach him, but she remembered where there was fear there was courage. Mila took a deep breath and placing her hand over her heart, before taking off from the adrenaline that was rushing within her. Walking carefully towards him, she looked like Bambi learning to walk for the first time or a trapeze artist on the high line; whatever she looked like, she knew that slow wins the race. With each step towards him, Mila gained more confidence in her walk and for a solid moment she thought that she'd make it.

A small tilt in the plane caused Mila to lose her balance, and she waited for the metal floor to hit her butt yet it never came. She was instead met with a soft cushion of skin, more precisely Bruce's. His hands snaked around her waist, grabbing her tight and keeping her in place. Mila didn't want to say anything for she missed the physical human interaction, and she wish that she could've stayed in that position longer if it wasn't for the eyes that were placed on them.

"Thank you, Bruce." Mila whispered to him, as his arms left her body and she sat next to him in an awkward silence like in any high school movie.

"Get ready for action!" Tony announced making all the emotions that Mila had before rise up within her for the unknown battle she was being thrown into.

Mila waited quietly in the upper deck next to the redhead assassin, while both waited orders from their earpiece. She appreciated the opportunity of this mission and that they instilled confidence in her, but she wasn't capable of doing what they did. Saving the world because that wasn't what her powers were for, her powers only brought destruction upon the world.

"I don't understand. Don't compare me to Stark! It's a thing with me. Stark is, he's a sickness!" A metal robot that she could identify as Ultron yelled as the rest of the team entered.

"Ahh, Junior. You're gonna break your old man's heart." Tony flew in his suit and landed on his two feet, keeping a good distance between them.

"If I have to." Ultron replied with a smirk at the end, with the twins that had almost similar powers to hers appeared at his sides. The one that they called Wanda was the one that she was in charge of taking care of, or putting her off for a while until one of them could pin her down and take her into custody.

"You don't have to break anything."

"Clearly you've never made an omelet." Ultron joked, and the small joke which was a tiny bit funny was the cue for the rest of them to start sneaking their ways in closer to the scene. Mila followed Natasha's motions exactly to not blow the entire mission.

"He beat me by one second," Tony motions to Thor and Steve, who clearly didn't understand the joke.

"Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable?" Ultron laughs, "Like old times?''

"This was never my life."

"You two can still walk away from this," Steve speaks to the twins, as Wanda laughs.

"Oh we will," Wanda replies smiling.

"I know you've suffered, trust me-" But Steve couldn't finish his speech without Ultron interrupting him first.

"Blah! Heh, heh, Captain America. God's righteous man, pretending you could live without war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but... If you believe in peace, then let us keep it." Ultron spat back at him, and all Mila could think is that this robot had better wit than she did.

"I think you're confusing peace with quiet," Steve corrects.

"Yuh- huh. What's the vibranium for?" Tony asked Ultron, who just smirked once more.

"I'm glad you asked that, because I wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan...!" He replies, attacking Tony while the twins attacked the others.

Then, the other one who worked there, started to attack the Avengers as well. The others soon joined, attacking the workers. Clint started shooting his arrows, Natasha used her Black Widow moves, Thor throwing his hammer everywhere, Steve throwing his shield as well, while Tony shooting blast from his hand towards Ultron. And Mila worked on the task she was handed, to take down the other enhanced individuals.

"It's time for some mind games." Ultron says to Wanda, from a different robot body. She nods and goes to use her mind manipulation on the Avengers.

Mila caught a glimpse of red and saw the Enhanced that she was supposed to control. She runs up the stairs where she is face to face with the woman. Mila warmed up her fingertips and let the power escape her hand forward. Although she was the first to attack,  her power wasn't quick enough as she revived a red glow throughout her body, throwing her back and staying in a dazed motion. Wanda smiled at Mila as she struggled. Her eyes went red and she used her powers to trace into her head. She winced as she closed her eyes and as everything was supposed to go black, it went green.

In an instant, the same creature that the Avengers saw at the party unleashed right in front of them. Her whole demeanor had changed no longer holding a scared stance but displaying herself more confident, and that meant that they were confronting the other side of Mila; Oz.

The first to confront here was Steve himself, who had assumed that she was in a combat mode with her green eyes. Approaching Mila with ease while looking out for the enhanced, he cautiously grabbed her hand to lead her to a safer destination to which she refuted with a clear wisp leaving her hand pushing him against the wall. Steve's eyes looked at the woman with deception for he no longer was in the presence of the helpless and kind Mila but her other persona.

"Mila's compromised. Oz is—" Steve was cut off by another blow from Mila to the ground.

"I hate that name. Mila sounds so beautiful, while Oz sounds down right evil." She smirked towards him and before he could attack or pin her down, Wanda came from behind and manipulated him with her red chaos magic and tracing him to stay dazed.

Mila continued with chaos magic that corrupted her head so that she went against the people that possibly could help her. She went upstairs to the next deck to only be in the sights of Clint taking down Wanda and seeing the over enhanced saving her and speeding away. While still in trance, Mila stood at a defensive stance against Clint who didn't want to harm her.

"Mila, I know that you're in there. You've said that you were strong enough to fight Oz. So, I need you to fight right now." Clint said taking small steps towards her and she had her hands ready to attack.

"Mila, you are so lucky to have found this group of people. Too bad that they're not going to last long." Oz spoke ready to fire her wisps at Clint, but he had the upper hand by taking Mila and facing her away from him while he tasered her from behind.

Clint held her as the emerald left her eyes and the regular color returned from to them. She had recaptured what had happened, and the numbing feeling left her sinking into Clint's arms. As he retreated her back to the jet, he heard a silent whisper escape her lips.

"Thank you."
