! BAD GIRLS ! BAD GIRLS !

( a sex and the city fic )

EGGSLUT RESTAURANT
los angeles, california
10:30am

sitting at a table alongside the four girls and dakota, a waitress came by to take our orders. charlotte ordered last, "i'll have the egg white omelet with no cheese, but tomatoes and mushrooms, and instead of the fries, a side of fruit with no grapes. and a half decalf skim!" she ordered with a smile.

"can i suggest that you get the mushrooms steamed?" the waitress said as she grabbed a hold of charlotte's menu. "because it lightens the calories but retains the flavor."

"great, thanks!" charlotte said as the waitress walked away. "i really like la." she confessed as dakota chuckled from next to her.

"who wouldn't? keith wants to buy a three million dollar house and i can't even afford new curtains," carrie said.

"keith? who's keith?" i asked.

"oh that's right, while you missy were busy with that poet, samantha and i went out to this movie premiere after party." carrie said. "i met keith travers, an agent to an actor."

"and i met hugh hefner." samantha said, a smirk on her face.

i raised an eyebrow at samantha's comment, wondering what adventure she had gotten into. "hugh hefner? really?"

miranda chuckled, "did you see any bunnies?"

samantha gave a sly smile. "oh i saw bunnies."

"lew may be the perfect guy." miranda said.

"letterman lew?" charlotte asked, clearly surprised.

"yeah! he's an ideal combination of the two coasts. he's still a new yorker at heart, but he's lost all his anger and neuroses and thirty pounds." miranda said, it was now clear to me that this 'lew' was a guy that was friends with the girls and lived in new york before moving to los angeles.

"we're new yorkers, we're supposed to like the neurotic guys." carrie said.

"nothing about my guy is neurotic." charlotte said as she looked at dakota.

"now seeing that lew let go of all of his built up anger...i'm starting to think i should stop being so angry." miranda concluded.

carrie shook her head, "what are you going to do with all of that free time?"

"i'll tell you what you could do." samantha said before showing off her new fendi bag. "shop!"

"no you didn't!" carrie said.

"that's like three thousand dollars." i said as i looked at the purse in admiration.

samantha shrugged, "or one hundred and fifty...but who's counting?"

"oh my god! it looks so real." charlotte said.

"give me that!" carrie said as she examined the bag.

"you'd never know it wasn't a real fendi unless you looked inside at the lining," samantha explained.

carrie kept examining it, "yeah, i don't have that luxury. all my insides are on the outside now."

"i don't like fakes." miranda said as she looked at the bag in disgust.

"oh who cares? all that matters is what it looks like." samantha said as she dismissed miranda with the wave of her hand. "we could go get more! i got the guys card, he lives somewhere called the valley."

"sign me up, i'm supposed to see joel since it's the last day but...i can't wait by the phone for him." i said, a hint of sadness in my voice.

my friends smiled empathetically at the mention of my impending departure, knowing how difficult it was going to be. but their understanding expressions quickly turned into excitement at the mention of going shopping for designer knockoffs.

HOME IN THE VALLEY
valley, los angeles, california
3pm

carrie, samantha and i pulled up into the man's house address and walked through to the backyard. "are you sure this is it?" i asked.

"yes, this is it...45386." samantha confirmed as she judged the area.

"is that an address or a zip code?" carrie asked, i laughed softly and nudged her before ramming into her at the sound of a dog barking at us.

two large doberman pinchers stayed in their gate, barking loudly. we all froze in place, scared and yelling.

samantha's face paled, clear she wasn't a fan of dogs, especially large ones.

"uhh... maybe this is the wrong place?" i suggested as the dog continued to bark at us.

samantha then looked at a man in the backyard, hauling out bags from his car trunk. "oh there he is!" she said with a smile as she walking over to him.

we found it, fake fendi paradise.

"he should really work on his display area." carrie whispered to me, a laugh escaping my lips in response.

samantha and i began looking at the fendi bags with smiles on our faces.

"you know what, i don't think so." said carrie as she exhaled.

"you don't want a bag now?" samantha and i asked at the same time.

she shook her head. "i'm sorry, they're very nice...it's just..." she said as she pulled out a pack of her cigarettes.

"hey! no smoking near the bags please." the man said.

carrie groaned in frustration and backed away, me and samantha followed suit, heading back to carrie's rental car. "we drove for two hours in the valley." samantha started to say before the dogs barked at us again, causing us to yell.

THE STANDARD HOTEL
los angeles, california
7:30pm

while carrie was out with keith, miranda was out to dinner with lew, charlotte was at dinner with dakota, and samantha was at the hotel bar hoping to meet a guy, i sighed as i sipped my wine in my hotel room.

i sat alone in my room, sipping on a glass of wine. it was supposed to be a night filled with good company and entertainment, but instead i was left alone. no call from joel, no texts from him either. i was starting to get worried about him not owning up to his word like this. did he not ever like me in the first place?

the silence in the room was deafening, the noise outside coming in through the window didn't make it much better. i let out an exasperated sigh and got up from the small hotel room couch, walking over to the bed. i laid down, staring at the white ceiling.

why hasn't he called? i repeated in my head over and over.

thoughts ran through my head as i lay in bed, unable to shut my brain off. a million different scenarios played out in my mind, each one more worrying than the last.

why hasn't he called? he promised. he's probably with another girl.

i closed my eyes, trying to block my thoughts out and just go to sleep.

housekeeping notes!
