The Underground

He walked down the stairs into the crowd filled underground and sat down at the nearest bench. He was sitting close enough to hear the hustle and bustle of the London streets. His train wouldn't come till noon, but he was with strict orders to stay down here until his train came.  He believed he looked rather smart in his school uniform, the striped tie and near perfect suit. He smiled to himself. Anyone would think he was a high up rich kid. He liked that.

The room went cold. People stopped talking and those who were boarding were quick to get on the train. He looked around in confusion. The lights dimmed. He heard a scream. And a pounding of footsteps. And that's when he saw them.  What must of been five big burly men walked along the platform holding A lady by the wrist. He knew that lady. It was the bakery owner from across the street. The biggest of the men spoke.

"Give us your valuables or the lady goes onto the tracks" He said with a south London accent. His voice was hoarse, and sneery. The rest of his gang snickered. He felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked behind him. There was nothing but a wall.

"psst" A voice said. he looked around confused. "behind you" He turned around and was shocked to find an eye peeking through a hole in the wall.

"Who are you what do you want?" He asked rather too loudly.

"Do be quiet you'll be heard by them" The eye said looking over to the men collecting their winnings from the innocent people.

"I'm sorry" He paused "It is just that you are, well, an eye talking to me"  The men looked over at him while his backed was turned. The eye noticed.

"They call themselves the All Seeing Eyes, or for short ASE." The eye said hurriedly. he nodded.    "What is your name?" She asked suddenly.

"Arthur" He said "Arthur Fruteskan" He replied proudly.

"I'm Lacy" She said. He nodded.

"Please to make your acquaintance Lacy"

"Arthur?" She asked glancing at the men behind Arthur, who were slowly approaching, a horrific smirk on his face.

"Yes lacy" Arthur said a bit lost in her eye.

"Run"  Arthur looked behind him, and did what he was told. He leapt of his seat and ran as fas as he could. The big man lunged at him, but he missed by a whisker.

"Remember what I said!" He heard Lacy call. "You'll need it!"  the other men started beating at the wall, desperately trying to get in to where lacy was.  Arthur looked behind him and saw that three of men were focused on him.  He cursed not being particularly tall. Thankfully the platform was log and he had plenty of room to run before he would hit the wall. Arthur devised a plan in his head. If he waited for the men to catch up when he reached the wall, he could dive between there legs. If prayed that it wouldn't have to come to that.

He was quickly nearing the wall and the men were hot on his tail. He started to panic. The wall was less than 5 metres away and Arthur looked away, hoping it wouldn't be so painful if he didn't look. He waited for the smack to come, but it didn't. He stopped running and opened one of his eyes. He was in a dark room. He couldn't see much, but in his opinion anywhere was better than a place with those men.

"Arthur Fruteskan, you made it" a voice said. Arthur jumped. He started to panic again but then he realised who the voice belonged to.
"Lacy!" He exclaimed. She stepped into the dim light, grinning. "Where are we?" Arthur asked in amazement, gazing across the small room. She leaned closer towards his ear and whispered...

"Arthur Fruteskan, you're in between the walls"

--------------THE END----------------
What did you think? Did I leave on a cliff hanger? Are you confused? If you are than good, I've reached my goal.

And for once it's actually ok to be short, because it's a short story :)

This has probably been published like a week after it was written, as a filler so you have something to read on my account. :)

Expect an update of 'The State' soon!

Thanks for reading!!
