Avneet was standing numb watching the situation. She came to the hospital with Sriyu as she started cry more and more. She couldn’t understand what happened and what’s going on around her. She was just standing there thinking about the incident happed a while ago.

Avu pov.

Why the hell did he do that..? And how did he know there is poison in it? And if he knew there is poison then why did he drank the juice?

Avu(in mind): something is wrong….totally wrong here…(looking at Alam) why was Sid so scared on seeing Alam bhai.?what was he talking about to sid ? I don’t know what I am missing here….she thought to herself and looked for Alam and found him near Abhishek.

He was trying to comfort Abhishek. But there was little smirk on his face and he was stopping himself from being so happy despite the situation. She was confused. But she looked at Abhi.

Abhi was fully devasted. He was sitting there even without blinking his eyes. She slowly went to him.

Avneet: bhaii…

Abhi: why did he do that Avneet…he whispered.

Alam: Abhi please….don’t forget what he did to u…he is a bloody betrayer....

Avu: bha—but she was cut off by Abhi

Abhi: can u please keep quite Alam…

Alam: but abhi he is just seeking attention and sympathy….

Sumedh was watching everything silently fumed in anger and came to them.

Sumedh: Shut the fuck up Mr. Alam Khan….u have no rights to speak bad about siddharth….

Alam: you….he was about to lash out

Abhi: Alam please….this is hospital….Alam glared at sumedh and kept quite.

Sriyu: chachu…papa…I want papa…she said crying.

Sumedh: papa is having fever baccha….so only doctor is treating him and giving him injection…he will come after getting injection…

Sriyu: no chachu….no injection….papa ko pain hoga….she said crying more.

Sumedh bit his inner cheek to stop himself from crying. How can he tell her that her papa is living only with the help of injections and medicines. He just hugged her tightly to himself while she cried more.

Abhi looked at them and saw sriyu crying hiding her face on Sumedh’s shoulder. The conversation between them stirred up a memory of him with siddharth in their childhood.

Flashback.

It was a rainy evening. Siddharth was just 6 years and Abhi was 10. Siddharth was sitting silently in his favourite sofa which was his bhaiya's once.

It was a small sofa gifted by their grandmother for Abhi when he was 3. But she passed away before sid was born. And when one day Sid started crying asking for his grandmother, Abhishek gave the sofa to him to calm him down. And from that day the sofa became his and no one even touches it.

From that day the boy started to seek comfort from that sofa whether he is angry,sad,sick etc…

He was sitting on the sofa when Abhir came inside. He saw his son sitting silently and he was really exhausted. He knelt down before him.

Abhir: why my bacha is so sad….he said making sid to look at him.

Sid looked at him with tear filled eyes as he got scolded by his mother for playing in the rain. Seeing his tearfilled eyes Abhir quickly took him in his embrace and got tensed as sid was burning with fever.

Abhir: Bella….what are u doing…. Sid is having fever…..he yelled taking sid in his arms and going to the room.

Bella who was making some of the favourite snacks for sid to pacify him as he was upset for getting scolding from her. She came running to the room.

Bella: he is having fever? But now only I checked him…he was ok….

Abhir: u checked him….but why…..

Bella: I scolded him for playing in the rain when I went to take the clothes from the hanger. He got fully drenched. I changed his dress and checked his temperature…he was fine but got upset with me….so only I went to make some snacks for him….she said worriedly and came near him.

At that time Abhi who went to his dance class returned and entered the room. He saw sid and the next thing he was beside him throwing the bag to the corner of the room….who cares……

Abhi: Ashu…..mumma papa….what happened to Ashu….he asked as he saw there was a thermometer placed in Sid’s mouth.

Sid: dada….he whispered and placed himself in Abhi’s arms.

Abhir took the thermometer and got tensed as the temperature was 101 degree and called the doctor immediately as the normal medicine they usually give will not work.

Sid: dada…mumma scolded me….he said pouting cutely……

Abhi: but why…….

Bella: because he played in the rain and got drenched and now he is having fever …….

Abhi: why did u played in the rain siddharth…..he asked in a stern voice. Abhi was just 10 but his slight stern voice was enough to make sid to burst out crying loudly.

Abhi quickly hugged him to calm him down.

Abhi: it’s ok ashu….don’t cry….dada is here ok…don’t cry bacha….

Sid hugged him tightly. The doctor came soon and checked him.

Abhir: is he ok doctor…

Doc: yeah…he got fever as he got cold only….i will give a injection…he will be ok.

Sid: no….no injection papa….no…he started crying rolling on the bed.

Abhi: ashu stop….u will get hurt…he said trying to stop him.

Sid: no injection dada….it will pain…he said crying more.

Abhi: ok ok….no injection for sid….doctor uncle u give the injection to me…he said showing his hand to the doctor.

Sid who was crying till now heard Abhi and looked at them. He saw Abhi rolling up his sleeve and the doctor removing the needle cap and going near Abhi.

Sid’s eyes widened in shock and he quickly went to them. He pushed the doctor back and hugged Abhi tightly….

Sid: no….bad doctor….no injection for dada….no…he said hugging him more tightly.

Abhir taking this as a chance spoke.

Abhir: sid if u don’t get the injection then doctor uncle will give the injection to Abhi as a punishment…..u want to punish ur dada….he asked already knowing the answer.

Sid shaked his head vigorously in no and hugged Abhi tightly. He looked up with tear filled eyes.

Sid: it will be painful dada….

Abhi wiped his tears and made him sit on the bed.

Abhi: it will not pain ashu….dada is here with u na…he said and hugged him and made his head lie on the crook of his neck. And held him tightly and rolled up the sleeve.

Sid flinched when the needle made its contact with his skin. Abhi hugged him more tightly when sid started crying. Doctor took the needle away and gave a medicine to Abhir and went from there.

Abhi rubbed Sid’s hand and kissed his forehead.

Abhi: see it’s over…

Sid: it’s paining…….

Abhi: it will be ok…he said and hugged him again.

Sid who was sniffing for some more time slept after a while. Abhi and Abhir made him lie on the bed properly and Abhi stayed with him the whole night.

Flashback ends.

Abhishek remembered how sid got ready to take the pain when he came to know that Abhi is going to have the injection. He was ready to take the pain himself for his Dada. Like wise this time also he took the poison instead of Abhi. He was always ready to take the danger upon him for his Dada…

Abhi remembered how sid pleaded him not to drink the juice….it should be him who should have been in the operation theatre now. But sid took it and saved him. He did this every time. It made him question himself that would it be really sid who would have done that….was it really him who betrayed him

Abhi was still in his daze when the door of the operation theatre opened and Vaishu came out crying.

Abhi: vaishu….he said getting scared for the answer from her but she didn’t said anything.

Soon Mallika came out after her and sumedh looked at her with a hope of getting a positive answer. But she shake her head slowly in a no…

Mallika: I don’t think he can make it out safely….she said slowly making everyones heart to skip a beat.

Abhi fell on the floor with a thud.

Abhi: is he also going to leave me like them…..he whispered to himself.
