Theresa put her phone in her pocket, eyes scanning the crowd nervously. After showing the paddock pass that Max had sent her via text she'd been led here, to the paddock, where she'd meet the formula one drivers she'd been talking to for the past three months.

It was safe to say she was nervous.

As she searched for a familiar face, the discreet stares, audible gasps and fervent murmurs that always seemed to follow Theresa turned into background noise, an incessant buzzing she tuned out without even meaning to. She was used enough to the attention that came with being famous, and while usually she might give a smile or two, right now that would only increase her anxiety.

"Tessa!"

At the sound of her name Tessa's head whipped around to find Pierre Gasly waving her over. Her stomach dropped, the familiar feeling of being starstruck falling over her. Luckily she did have experience meeting with famous people, and managed a smile before hurrying over, her heart racing.

Would they hug? Shake hands? What was the usual etiquette for meeting someone for the first time that you've been talking to for three months? Would it be awkward between them because they'd never talked in real life? Now that Tessa didn't have a screen as protection, would she still be able joke around with them like she could over text? Would they still be able to?

And then before she could decide what to do she was standing in front of him and Pierre was wrapping her in a hug.

And it was nice.

It wasn't weird or awkward. It wasn't even new. Strangely enough, since she already felt she knew him, even though they'd never hugged before it felt like they had. That was weird, but Tessa certainly wasn't complaining.

"Pierre," she beamed, unable to hide the grin. "Nice to finally see you in person."

Pierre opened his mouth before pausing, a frown on his face. He reached up and grabbed Tessa's hat.

"Now its nice to see you," he said, his accent much more prominent in person than over the phone.

Theresa laughed, shaking her head at his antics. Speaking to Pierre in person wasn't so different to texting, except that Tessa was painfully aware of who she was talking to, and it was taking work to wrestle her fangirl side away.

The driver and singer continued talking for a while longer, almost oblivious to the constant snap of cameras around them. They fell into easy banter, and from onlookers it seemed as though they'd been friends for ages. Tessa wondered what they'd say if they knew this was the first time they were meeting. Truthfully, she'd never hit it off with anyone straight away before like she had with Pierre, except maybe Olivia and Conan, but even then it took them a few weeks before they were doing the playful banter that her and Pierre had.

"I suppose I should take you to the rest of the guys now," Pierre sighed reluctantly.

Tessa pat him on the shoulder. "Yes, unfortunately I did come here to see everyone. Also, can I have my hat back?"

Pierre made a face but handed her the Ferrari cap, staring at it with disdain. Theresa shook her head, smiling, and let him lead her through the paddock.

Though still very nervous, the feeling had lessened significantly now that Tessa had Pierre by her side. Since things had gone so well with him, she was hoping it would go similar with the other drivers.

"Oh there's Charles," Pierre said. "We can say hello to him."

Tessa's heart skipped a beat, literally. She felt it stop and start, putting her out of the mix. Charles Leclerc. She was meeting Charles Leclerc. She really shouldn't feel so nervous, because she had been texting him for a while now, privately as well, but the thought of actually meeting him made her dizzy.

Theresa followed Pierre's gaze and again, her heart did that strange little leap. His back was facing them, talking with another fan, but seeing his broad shoulders and tousled brown hair was enough to increase her anxiety tenfold.

Still, she went over there, Pierre following her. Without thinking too much about it, because if she did she'd end up nowhere, she tapped Charles on the shoulder.

He distractedly glanced behind him, already starting to walk away, when he stopped in his tracks. Eyes wide, he turned around fully to see Theresa smiling at him, albeit shyly.

"Theresa?" he spoke, her name rolling off his tongue in a strange yet pleasant way.

Her smile widened at his voice. "You owe me a drink."
