"Kids don't always need an Adult to take care of them. Besides, these kids have Cybertronians."
A week or so after the whole Shadowzone accident, Pan arrived in base thanks to Bumblebee and Raf who had offered to tag-drive her base as Ratchet was a little busy.
And to say Pan wasn't impressed with her blood relatives was an understatement.
First, almost killing five or six states, then taking Breakdown, then threatening Jack and Arcee by taking June.
And almost killing the nurse via Annachiard (purposely spelt that way).
Pan's face had been molded into a blank mask, which concerned all of whom were in the base. Her guardian especially.
Ratchet vented quietly as he glanced over at his cr-arge before a beeping alarm on his console alerted him, "Arcee, a vehicular form is approaching."
"Decepticon?"
Ratchet brought up the feed, a video of a civilian car speeding towards the hidden base, "Mom," Jack sighed, shaking his head.
"Again?" Arcee groaned, looking down to her charge.
Jack shrugged helplessly, "She worries."
Pan raised an eyebrow at that, the first emotion had had shown in over an hour.
Raf and Miko shared an awkward look away from Jack.
June's car finally parked. Three of the four humans' eyes rolled.
"Hi, honey," June smiled to her son, her eyes then darting towards the other three kids.
Jack smiled back, admit a little awkwardly, "Hey."
"Hey, uh Finished my shift early at the hospital, so I thought I'd swing by," June explained, then she looked towards the medic, "Good to see you again, doctor."
Ratchet grunted in acknowledgement. Pan eyed the Nurse suspiciously, her arms crossed over her chest.
"Arcee," June nodded stiffly, before looking at Ratchet, "So, where's Optimus?"
Pan hid a gag from the nurse, and Ratchet could sympathize with her, "On a scouting mission with Bumblebee," Ratchet told her gruffly, "Sorry to disappoint."
"And I wore heels and everything," June sighed.
This time Miko gagged as Raf coughed in embarrassment and Pan, well, Pan just covered her mouth with her hands as she tried to not say anything that the adult would find offensive(that was if June understood sign language).
Jack's eyes widened, "Mom!"
🛠
Pan wrinkled her nose away from the overprotective June; who after some while had taken to looking over Pan, "after the events of last time she saw the Hammer girl", even though it was a good three months ago.
Her guardian gave her a sympathetic look before going back to his typing or whatever it was that he did on the massive computer.
Only just catching Pan's narrowed glare (at her obvious refusal to help his charge escape the human nurse; not that she blames him for not wanting to.) out of the corner of his optics.
"That's odd," Ratchet mused mostly to himself, only Pan glancing over curiously, "This is an extremely unusual magnetic flux for any planet."
And thankfully for both the Hammer girl and Wrench throwing medic, Bulkhead had taken Miko and Raf out for a bit.
Not that Pan didn't like Miko, but having too much of the energetic girl could be overwhelming at times.
And this would only be proven later on by none other than Miko herself.
🛠
"Did you feel the G's on that last turn? Bulkhead's an animal!" Miko cheered as she jumped out of Bulkhead's altmode, "Remember when this used to be a secret clubhouse?" She whispered to Raf who grimaced.
"Uh, don't worry, Ms.Darby," Raf said quickly, masking any previous expressions from his face as he smiled to the nurse, "We were wearing seatbelts."
"I'm sure you were, Rafael," June smiled to him, her eyes catching Miko trying to sneak past her, "Hi, Miko," the nurse grinned as Miko froze like a deer in headlights, "How's school going?"
"Why?" Miko was on the defensive as she narrowed her eyes at the woman, "What'd you hear?"
"Let's do this thing, Jack,"
"But I just got here," June said, a frown on her lips, "I brought sandwiches."
"Mom!" Jack groaned, his frustration appearing for a second, "I really need to help Arcee test her upgraded tracking system."
"Well, just be careful," June
"There's nothing to be careful about," Arcee raised an optic ridge at her, "It's a routine diagnostic."
June's frown deepened, an odd look in her eyes that made Pan frown, "Are you sure you need Jack for that?"
"Uh-oh," Raf muttered next to Pan who nodded her head in agreement as they watched Jack's frustration with his mother rise.
"Bulkhead, I need you back in the field to investigate an odd magnetic disturbance," Ratchet interrupted to potential fight(probably verbal fight; but you never knew with humans).
"I'll go with!" Miko cheered, heading to the ground bridge, only to be stopped by a rather nervous looking Bulkhead, "Whoa."
"Stay put, Miko," the girl's guardian said firmly.
"Why aren't you going with him?" June asked as Miko stormed away from the ex-wrecker.
"Someone thinks it's not safe," Miko pouted, with Pan patting her shoulder sympathetically. The green eyed girl already knowing how this was going to go.
"But it's safe for Jack to go with Arcee?" June asked, turning her gaze onto her son, and missing a Miko sneaking away to the ground bridge with a Panacea shaking her head, ever so silent.
"Mom," Jack sighed, "Totally different."
"Oh," June raised an eyebrow at him, "How?"
Jack looked to his guardian for help, only to be met with a shrug, "Mother knows best, Jack," Arcee said, before looking towards the ground bridge as a thought sparked in her processor, "Wait up, Bulkhead. I'm going with.
"Wh-" Jack gaped as she left him behind, "-ah!" He groaned, throwing his hands up dramatically, a scowl on his face.
June was totally oblivious, "What'd I say?"
Pan just sighed as Raf shrugged when the nurse turned her gaze onto them questioningly.
🛠
Pan finally closed her novel that she had just finished reading for English, and finally realized that quite a few things had happened in her absence from the real world.
:[-I'm not risking your well-being just so you can hit your daily adrenaline quota]: Arcee's voice said as Pan joined Raf by the metal fence barrier, :[Ratchet, Miko needs a bridge.]:
"Coming up," Ratchet responded back to her.
Apparently Miko had, had enough, "You think Jack's mom is bad? You sound just like her!"
June looked confused as she turned her head to Pan and Raf, both of which looked rather uncomfortable, "Is that such a bad thing?"
Pan's hands immediately went to respond before Raf noticed what she was signing and quickly grabbed the girl's hands to stop her from "saying" anything else.
"Wh-uh, We're just gonna go over here," Raf said, quickly dragging Pan, who had eyes narrowed at the annoying woman away before she did anything she would regret later.
🛠
Pan poked her tongue out childishly at her guardian who smiled innocently at her.
'You're such a fragging git,' Pan signed discreetly at him.
Ratchet smirked as a look of surprise crossed Pan's face when the medic only returned the favor in sign language, 'Wouldn't you have done the same?'
Pan narrowed her eyes at him, knowing the mech was correct; but she wasn't going to admit it, 'Afthole.'
Ratchet's smirk grew wider, and he was grateful that no one/bot had bothered to look over at the Wrench and Hammer thrower duo, and Pan pouted slightly at him.
Little did the human know how much she affected the mech next to her.
Here's Chapter Thirty Six.
Mostly a filter chapter with small amount of the TFP episode.
I just wanted to show Pan's reaction to an adult being in on the secret. She does still like June, but she doesn't like how the woman tries to take over everything/worm her way into their ways.
To the people who have yet to vote; feel free to vote on the Love Interest poll for Jack and Raf. It's probably going to be open for a while, but I will send out an announcement on my profile when I am think of closing the poll(finally).
NZ is having a teacher strike day, so no school for me!
Hope you enjoyed this chapter.
