( prologue; change should only be good )

Hey, kiddo. Mind if I come in?

Noelle's bed creaked as she slipped her feet into her grey shark slippers and stood up. her clock read two thirty-three AM. glancing from the clock back to her creaked open door, she stalked towards the door. a bit of yellow light was flooding in.

The young brunette carefully opened the door wider, watching as her older brother followed their dad out the motel door.

Her dad had insisted the boys give her the bedroom, since she was the only girl and the
youngest. She gratefully took it and made it her own for the next month they'd be staying there.

The door clicked shut and after a few seconds her other older brother, with longer hair, slipped out the door just as quick. Noelle knew that whenever they went away they'd always come back.

Dean promised her that.

Noelle sighed sadly, going back to her bed and curling up with her blanket that her mom gave her when she was a baby.

Her family would be back the next day, so tonight was just another night of weak sleep.

The next morning, Noelle rose from her bed, slipping in her same slippers and going out to the joint kitchen- living room. It was still empty which was unusual since it was nine AM.

"Dad?" The girl looked around the kitchen bar. "Dean? Sam?"

After giving the room a brief look, she sat on the couch, blanket in hand, glancing out the window every so often.

They'd be back soon.

Two hours went by with no sign of anyone coming home.

Another two went by. Still nothing.

When one PM rolled around, a knock interrupted her thoughts.

Quickly, she stood up, and opened the door. Instead of it being her dad and brother it was her dad's friend. Bobby.

"Hey, kiddo. Mind if I come in?" He asked, his voice gentle and calm.

She nodded, stepping out of the way.

"Your dad wants you to come with me for a few days, okay? Just until he gets back."

one year later

"Bobby, do you see my shoes anywhere?"

He chuckles. "The red converse? They're over by the back door!" He shouts.

"Thanks Bobby!" Noelle jogs over to the door, sliding onto the ground and shoving the shoes onto her feet.

"I'll see you later."

"Don't get into any trouble!"

Later that night, Noelle closes the front door with a click and drops her grocery bag into the ground, only taking the box she needs out.

Bobby was going to freak out when he saw her new red hair in the morning.

four years later

"I'll buy you some new shoes okay?" He said, rubbing the girls hair while she leaned on him.

"Okay." Her voice was hoarse from crying after her bike accident but Bobby assured her that her leg would heal just fine.

Everything was going great, except for that, but still great. One more year and she'd be twenty.

But for now, she was packing her stuff for her move to Wisconsin soon. She wanted some change and it needed to be good for once. Hopefully Wisconsin could offer her that.
