Red Velvet's Arisu Reveals Longstanding Friendship with BTS on Weekly Idol!

Red Velvet's Arisu sent ReVeluvs and ARMYs into a frenzy this week after a surprising revelation on the popular variety show, Weekly Idol. The talented vocalist revealed she shared a close friendship with BTS that dates all the way back to their pre-debut/trainee days.

During a segment where the Weekly Idol hosts were quizzing the Red Velvet members on their hidden talents and connections, Arisu casually mentioned that she's known Jimin and the rest of BTS since before debuting.

— "I actually met Jimin-ssi while we were both in high school," Arisu explained. "I had just moved from Japan to Busan, enrolling in the same performing arts school as him. We were in the same class, and quickly became friends."

This sent the studio into a buzz, with the hosts eager to hear more. Arisu continued — "As for the other members, I met them through Jimin-sis. Though I didn't actually meet them in person until last year at an award show."

While Arisu didn't delve into the specifics of her friendship with BTS, her simple admission was enough to spark a wave of excitement among fans online. #ArisuBTSFriendship and #ArisuPreDebutLife quickly trended worldwide, with fans sharing their disbelief and joy over the unexpected connection.
