Rise of Skywalker

I told Jax to wait in the room with BB8 while I went to the announcement of the first order spy. Everyone gathered around. I took a seat on a box, listening to Poe.

"We decoded intel by the first order spy. It confirms the worst." Poe stated, looking at everyone. By the way his face looks, it was bad. "Somehow Palpatine returned." I covered my mouth. Everyone was gasping and murmuring. How? He died! He couldn't have survive.

"Wait. Do we believe this?" Rose spoke up.

"It cannot be! The emperor is dead!"

"Dark sides, cloning, secrets only the sith knew."

"He's planning his revenge. His followers have been building something for years." Poe continues. "A largest fleet the galaxy have ever known. He calls it the final order. In sixteen hours, attacks in all free worlds begin. The emperors fleet has been hiding in the regions on a world called Exogol." I looked at Rey, she either knew something or she was scared. R2 made me jump as he started to go crazy.

"Exogol does not appear in any star chart. The legend describes it that the hidden world of the sith." 3PO told us. Rey ran out.

"Palpatine has been out there all this time. Pulling strings." One person came to mind. Ben. He could've controlled him. But it's all conspiracy.

"Always in the shadows since the beginning." Leia told Poe.

"If we want to stop him, we must find him. We must find Exogol." Maz told us too.

"General?" Rey came out from the crowd, with a book. "Can I speak with you?"The meeting was over. Soon as we stopped, I ran out to Jax.

"Mama?" Jax said as I came in the room. "Whats wrong?" I looked at him. "Is the first order going to come?" My eyes widen.

"No. No." I hugged him. I touched his face.

"What's happening?" I sighed. I couldn't keep secrets from him. I licked my lips.

"There's an evil man out there." I started to tell him. We sat on my bed. He sat on my lap. "He is going to attack all free worlds."

"What will happened then?"

"We have to stop him, before its too late." I kissed his head.

"What about my father?" I closed my eyes. "Is he with the evil man?"

"No." I hoped. "I, i dont think so."

"That means you're going to stop the evil man?" He turns to me. His dark eyes stared into mine.

"Possibly."

"Its okay if you go. I can stay here, with grandma." He smiles. "I dont want you to be stuck here."

"Now why would you say that?" I saw Poe come in the room quietly.

"I heard uncle Poe saying that he needed your help but you stay here. For me." Poe looks down.

"You know how he is. I stay here because I'm your mother, and I have to look after you. Its my job." I wiped his cheek from a tear.

"But your job is to be an pilot. To save the galaxy. Like you did before. Don't you want stop the evil man?"

"Yes, we all do."

"Then go mama." I hugged him. "Then what will we do when we win?" I gave him a smile.

"We dance. We have to dance to show the gods and the jedi's before us, that we are grateful to be alive." I got up and started to dance around the room. Jax jumped up and down on our bed, dancing. Poe comes in. He whispers to my ear.

"Rey has found a way to find Exogol. We are going with her, are you in?" I looked at him and then at Jax.

"What is it?"

"Come along." I sticked out my hand. We three of us walked out of the room. I told Leia to take care of Jax while I was gone. Finn handed me my bag.

"You good?" He asked me.

"Just a little sad." We both looked at Jax.

"Once we finish this, you get to have him again, but this time, he'll know his mom will be the one who protected the galaxy."

"I need to go alone." Rey said to us all.

"Yeah, alone with friends." Finn told her.

"No, its too dangerous Finn." Rey looked at us.

"We go together." We gathered up behind Finn. Chewie howls in agreement. So did BB8.

"I partly agree."

"Dangerous is my middle name." I gave her a smile.

"No it isn't. Its-" Poe was about to say it until I looked at him.

"Just go with it." Rey gives up, letting us go with her, even though she had no choice. I saw everyone putting their belongings into the ship. I walked back to my son. "I have to ask you a very important question."

"Yes?"

"If I do go, stop the evil man, will you be okay?"

"Of course." He hugs me.

"Here." I Took off my jacket, put it on his shoulders. "I want you keep that until I come back."

"When will you be back?"

"Before you wake up." I gave him a smile. He gave me a tighter hug. Tears came down my face. I didn't want to leave him. I haven't left him, and its going to hurt.

"And the lightsaber?" I chuckled.

"No, that I keep." I looked in his eyes. So much light. "Whenever you miss me, what do you do?"

"Look up at the stars because you'll be right there." I boop his nose. "Mama?"

"Yes dear?"

"Come home." I placed a kiss on his cheek.

"Of course." I stood up as Leia came in. She placed her hand on my cheeks. "I'll be okay Leia." I grabbed her hands. She gave me a hug. "Thank you."

"Hera, there is hope." I sighed. "May the force be with you." I pulled away, i walked backwards, waving goodbye. I saw Chewie, Finn, Poe and Rey by the ship. I felt two arms around my leg.

"I love you." I told Jax. "More than the stars above." I wiped his cheek again. I gave him a big old kiss and he lets me go.

"I love you too mama." I coughed as Poe goes up to Jax, sitting him down on his knee.

"You know, what I said to your mom, i didnt mean it."

"Then why say it?" Poe laughs.

"Because I was mad. Anyways, can i make you a promise?" Jax nodded. "When we come back, I can take you a ride on the falcon." Jax's smile widen. "Got that?"

"Yes!" We said our goodbyes, even though my goodbye to Leia and Jax's were the toughest ones yet. I got on the ship, going to sit down, so i was going to fly the ship. I placed my hands on the wheel. Hello old friend. Chewie and I took off. Chewie told me if it was good to be back.

"It is." I smiled. Its been hours since I flew the ship and Rey suggested that we take turns. "What?" I said as Poe and Finn looked at me as I sat down.

"Welcome back Commander Hera." They saluted.
